If Ben is happy in Seattle where he also ruins a theater he may want to avoid Drag Race fame and fortune since it requires almost non-stop international travel.

He can say it wasn't disrespectful but it was to the Queens who didn't make it on. Ben gets her cake and eats it too the paycheck, the bookings, Miss Congeniality and All Stars winner.

Hey Serena, how you doing?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 3, 2018 4:17 AM |
I've never liked BeBe. Ever since she just posed her way to win the first crown ever till now, she just stands there and expects people to bow befor her.
Her tiger/jungle outfits are tired. And I hope she does not win. I'm rooting for Shangela.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 3, 2018 5:14 AM |
I never thought Ben was all that great. The returning 5 should’ve won. Also Aja should’ve been brought back, send Trixie or Kennedy home. I think Ben just didn’t like being read by Morgan, it really shook her up that others could see how calculating she was.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 3, 2018 10:18 AM |
I don't understand Ben's aesthetic at all and his overall look just doesn't do it for me, but I recognize his talent and have no qualms about saying he's one of the best players in drag race history and he is EXTREMELY smart and calculating. He doesn't need to be the #1 most popular drag queen in the world, but how about the #1 queen in seattle, which holds a weird hallmark quality to it that I'm sure charms him. and his lifestyle.
I love Bebe. I still have never seen season 1 but I LOVE this extra bitch.
Shangela is so obviously going to win. She was going to regardless but now I feel like I won't get tomatoes thrown at me for saying it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 3, 2018 10:23 AM |
Ben did finally do a decent lip sync, which I thought was beyond his abilities.
This gives credence to the thought that he intentionally flubbed the previous lip sync performances? And helps prove how smart and calculating he is?
I won't miss his uptalk and borderline booger drag.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 3, 2018 10:56 AM |
I liked the way Shangela handled Thorgy. She’s clearly got it all worked out.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 3, 2018 11:23 AM |
I really like Ben and think she's very talented and easily the most worthy of the crown—but I am VERY happy not to have to listen to her horrific vocal fry and upspeak anymore. It drove me absolutely batty.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 3, 2018 2:49 PM |
So, I'm assuming next week will be a double elimination given that there are only two episodes left?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 3, 2018 4:02 PM |
Two episodes fit.
We have 5 queens left, one leaves next ep.
Then there is the final four. in which one will be crowned in the final ep. That is how it worked last season.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 3, 2018 4:04 PM |
Helen Keller could see that Ben intentionally threw the lip syncs she lost.
I am VERY happy not to have to listen to her horrific vocal fry and upspeak anymore.
Alaska's affectations in AS2 were particularly jarring. In Season 5, she spoke like a somewhat normal person in the confessionals. Then on All-Stars, sheeeee haaaaaad toooo draaaawwww ouuutttt evvvvvvery woooooord at all times, even in the confessionals out of drag, since she's now famous for that. Annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 3, 2018 4:16 PM |
Helen Keller could see that Ben intentionally threw the lip syncs she lost.
Ben is not that strong of a lip syncher though. She lost to Darienne twice in s6, and using last episode as an example (a lip sync she really wanted to win), Bebe was still kicking her ass until she took off her wig.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 3, 2018 4:38 PM |
I totally disagree Ben threw those lip synchs. Lip synchs actually seem to be her weakness even though she’s pretty good at them. She only won this one cause Bebe took her rig off wo a reveal underneath. That has been a huge no no since season 4.
Did Bebe not know that or was she influenced into doing that once the producers saw Ben with the wite out?
R17, but that was an anamoly. It’s alp been done with the first AS season and then with season 9. I think last season they only did it cause otherwise Peppermint would’ve been out and s final four gave the show bragging rights with SJWs and the trans crowd.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 3, 2018 4:43 PM |
Ben is a Virgo, and they just love to martyr themselves to prove they’re superior. Trixie’s makeup never changes and it’s horrible! Shangela will win, but I really like Kennedy because she reminds me of a childhood friend. It’s pretty telling that most reality shows revolve around vendetta and angst but these drag queens are making peace and finding closure.

Also like the fact that they all fight yet still come together.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 3, 2018 5:27 PM |
I loathe Bebe. She's a no-talent cunt, the kind of "African" one sees talking to himself while working incompetently as a grocery store cashier, keeping his job because of a race quota. Completely one-note, shallow, haughty with no cause, can't dance, can't sing, fat in the middle, egomaniacal piece of shit.
Of course I also dislike Shangela, but at least she's truly competitive. Boring, unintelligent, smarmy and nasty, but she can put on a face.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 3, 2018 6:07 PM |
R21 thinks Ben's makeup never changes. Compare the last episode with the previous one. Ha!

What do you think of RuPaul's stance on trans queens?
Metro: RuPaul doesn’t think transgender queens should compete on Drag Race after transitioning
Peppermint became the first out trans woman to enter RuPaul’s Drag Race, with many other queens now openly identifying as transgender. But RuPaul isn’t sure about allowing those who have fully transitioned to enter the contest. The 57-year-old has called the topic of trans drag queens ‘an interesting area’, saying that while you can identify as a woman and do drag, he isn’t sure you can do drag with a female body. Speaking to the Guardian, RuPaul said: ‘Peppermint didn’t get breast implants until after she left our show; she was identifying as a woman, but she hadn’t really transitioned.’
When asked whether he would accept a contestant who had transitioned, he said: ‘Probably not. You can identify as a woman and say you’re transitioning, but it changes once you start changing your body... RuPaul added that he believed drag loses its ‘danger’ when it’s not men doing it, saying: ‘At its core it’s a social statement and a big f-you to male-dominated culture. So for men to do it, it’s really punk rock, because it’s a real rejection of masculinity.’

Drag queens are so boring anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 3, 2018 6:26 PM |
I stopped watching drag race years ago but am watching all stars because I have always enjoyed Shangela. I also like Bebe, not because she’s particularly great at anything, but because her body really flows like a woman’s on stage

Trixie says she had no idea Ben was quitting until it happened, and she honestly felt that Ru didn't even know in advance. Though obviously she doesn't know for sure.

Shangela didn't win - she was tossed by the jury in the second-to-last episode because the other queens didn't like her nasty, conniving, selfish and tedious drag. She may have extra ambition but it doesn't make up for the fact that she's rather stupid. Very unlikable and not the kind of queen Ru wanted to crown. Trixie is a pro who can be trusted. Shangela is not. Bebe is too full of moth-balls and her own crap. And Kennedy just doesn't have it.
The story is that Ben just got tired of the production bullshit and the manipulation and editing games, which she thought got in the way not only of the real story of the show but also plain decency. The producers kept trying to stir shit, and Ben's not that kind of queen. She hates the drama and meanness. So she got them back in spades and ruined the season in the process.
A bad arc because of Ben but an interesting view of this kind of show, with some great moments. Few of them connected to the drag performances.

by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 6, 2018 12:34 AM |
I don't think Trixie sucks. She's excellent at what she does and has quite a dedicated following. However, a pro wouldn't hang an assumed confidential letter that happens to insult a fellow contestant on a support column for the viewing pleasure of any eyes -- electric or human. After all, she wouldn't want to tarnish her reputation as a likable presence on Drag Race.
Unless she was stupid.

Check out the drag king entry on Wiki, R59.
Gia Gunn and Carmen Carrera held a live chat about RuPaul's comments and obligatory apology.
In the first minute, Carmen says to a viewer, 'I agree, she's ruining her own career' before swiveling her tongue left to say something akin to not wanting drama, she's got a gay pride tour this year, no beef, blah blah blah. Talks about working with Meryl Streep. Don't giggle.

Ru had nothing to apologize for. Here's Tom&Lorenzo's tweet from today:
I think RuPaul said something that should be criticized, scrutinized and discussed further, but so much of the online commentary taking him to task is ragingly homophobic.
I hope they discuss this in their podcast. These people are waging war on common sense now and of course they're taking on gay men, instead of directing their attention towards the current regime that's systematically taking their rights away. Plus ça change.

When I discovered this board I went and found as many of the running DL threads for each RPDR season as I could, to gauge the sentiment of the board towards the queens as each season went on.
The threads for Season 3 were probably my favorite - you bitches were VICIOUS towards that group of queens, in particular towards Carmen Carrera. One comment still makes me laugh every time I think of it: "Carmen is dumber than a box of hair and isn't nearly as pretty as she thinks". That is still very much true. Without RuPaul she would be turning tricks on the New Jersey turnpike, but she never misses an opportunity to publicly declare how 'transphobic' Ru is. Utter bullshit.

Trixie apparently is being tweeted by tween girls that they want him to fuck them with a rake. It was a joke from the TV show Halloween episode, but it's taken on a whole world of fan fiction. Apparently, one of these girls read their fantasy directly to him in person too... it's really fucked up. I just read about it now so I don't really understand all the details...

by Anonymous | reply 94 | March 11, 2018 1:22 AM |
Trixie's makeup makes her face look like anime when professionally photographed. But when she's standing on stage in this show, that effect gets lost entirely and she just looks like a mental patient. I see people screaming on Twitter "but it's a throwback to vintage barbies!!1!" As if that explanation makes it any less ugly and painful to look at. I think Trixie is a great drag queen but that makeup is a non-starter for me.

This interesting article about drag kings was published by Vogue this week. A couple of them were profiled as well.
I have to say my concept of drag expanded as I was reading the article and I was probably the most vocal one here about drag being for gay guys only. Orthodoxy of any kind is never healthy and it's shocking to observe yourself engage in it. And the "boys only" thing gave us the patriarchy so I don't know what the hell I was thinking. We should always strive for greater inclusion, even if that means someone else gets to... [italic]gasp![/italic]... play with the same toys as you.

The Queens are returning and there’s that rumor they get revenge on Shangela, but are any of them actually pissed at her? They haven’t really shown anyone hating her besides Thorgy. The rest seem neutral on her. They’re also being conscious about being “fair”. A lot of them seem like they’d target Kennedy first.
Morgan to me, is more of a teacher/mama then she is a performer.
This show has dubbed itself the "Olympics of Drag," but imagine watching the actual Olympics basketball tournament and the judges flippantly announcing "Actually, the gold medal will be decided by a slam dunk competition" or "the eliminated teams will cast their vote for who they felt was the best sportswomen." It just cheapens the experience. We've been asked to invest in the show for an entire season, to care about the results of each episode, to believe that it all actually matters. Now, for two season in a row, we've seen instances we're the rules are rewritten at the last moment and the bona fide and well deserved frontrunner doesn't even get the chance to make it to the final faceoff. This season's twist somehow feels even more gut punching than the last.
Don't be mistaken, this show may be "prestige" reality, but it's not actually Game of Thrones. No one is watching for the equivalent of the red wedding. A sense of justice and competition has to prevail. Not only are we left to feel that Shangela was robbed, but now it's making us feel certain ways about Trixie that we'd really rather now. No one wants to see someone they actually like in a Hall of Fame if they have an asterisk next to their name.

Basically, Shangela screwed herself by winning so many lipsyncs because she had to eliminate so many other queens. If she had only lost everything, like Trixie did, she would’ve won. On All Stars 4, I bet the queens will be trying to lose the “lipsyncs for their legacy”, because you’ll only get screwed in the end by bitter jurors.

^^^Brainy Queen serving schoolroom realness!
by Anonymous | reply 157 | March 16, 2018 2:59 AM |
R156, your analysis is wrong. Shangela lost because she lacks the uniqueness and intelligence needed to get queens to respect you enough in competition not to vote you out. You're converting the other queens to two-dimensional cartoons to get your argument in, and that's unfair to everyone there. None of them is unprofessional enough to kick a sister in the balls just because they played the rules. Period. Your middle-school rules may be what is active in your life, but it doesn't work that way in this show.
Trixie was the only possible winner because she is the only one to have cut a precise, professional character out that was always present in every episode and competition. Everyone else was okay or better or great, but no one - even Ben - had the full package. And that's true no matter what the dynamics were in each episode's wins.
Think I'm wrong? Well, insult the other pros in the show then. Too bad for Shangela. She wouldn't have hurt the brand. But she would have given it the wrong arc. "I started at nothing and now am a 'do whatever' queen with one look" didn't cut it. Obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | March 16, 2018 3:04 AM |
R154, It was edited to look that way; to validate giving the win to Trixie. Kennedy is a better performer and probably more deserving than Trixie overall, but she won't bring in the same amount of money. At the end of the day Ben won the season. Would have been nice to see one of the three black finalists win though...
by Anonymous | reply 159 | March 16, 2018 3:09 AM |
Trixie was mediocre the majority of the season. Apropos the Queen of Cringe swinging her scepter like a golf club.
Shangela should have won. She has Alaska's savvy without the immaturity and Allyssa's charm without the unprofessionalism.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | March 16, 2018 3:14 AM |
Kennedy, much like Roxxxy Andrews is a drag queen's drag queen. Pageant, professional, looks are always meticulously on point and clearly a very very hard worker, but that doesn't appeal to the 14 year old girls that the show tends to cater to now. She was fairly well known long before drag race was even a thing and I think the other queens have a level of respect for her legacy outside of this show (not just the edit that she needs the win the most).
by Anonymous | reply 161 | March 16, 2018 3:19 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 166 | March 16, 2018 4:38 AM |
One thing I’ve always liked about RPDR is that in the end, RuPaul always says he has a panel of judges, but “in the end, it’s MY decision.” I appreciate that he has always asserted his reign over all the opinions because, face it, only RuPaul is RuPaul. His career and persona were self-created, not created by a focus group or a committee.
The longer I’ve had to process what Ben said, the more I agree with what he said, especially in the context of what I wrote above. The other contestants shouldn’t be burdened with the responsibility of choosing who wins or loses, and they shouldn’t be given the power of who wins or loses. That changes the entire show. The same setup—the jury picking who they think should be the winner—should have been followed by RuPaul saying, “Thank you, ladies, I’ve heard what you have had to say, but in the end the final decision is still mine. Shangela, you is a winner, baby.” That would have been a true shocker, would have re-established Ru’s dominance on the series, would have awarded the more consistent winner, for the sake of optics would have not awarded the one white man among three black men, and Trixie could have still left feeling like a winner. RuPaul has given away his responsibility and with it the strong perspective of the whole series.

I love Kennedy, but her lip sync reminded me of Kenya Michaels' cracked-out twirling against Latrice Royale to "Natural Woman." "Wrecking Ball" isn't really a good showcase number for dancing queens.
Too bad for Shangela. She wouldn't have hurt the brand. But she would have given it the wrong arc. "I started at nothing and now am a 'do whatever' queen with one look" didn't cut it.
I actually wouldn't have minded that arc—she may not be as polished as Trixie, but she's definitely grown the most as an entertainer. I also thought she looked beautiful for her final runway. Where she falls short is her tendency to be a messy bitch—it makes for good TV, I guess, but it also detracts from her likeability. It's Drag Race, gurl, not Big Brother.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | March 16, 2018 9:43 AM |
I like Trixie’s personality much more than Shangela’s, and I don’t think Shangela stood out that much this season except as a result of the camera time and focus on her from the beginning...but Trixie didn’t do anything remarkable all season. Ben had so many outstanding, memorable moments. Trixie brushed her wig back with a doll arm, and that seems to have won her the crown. I don’t get it.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | March 16, 2018 9:47 AM |
I completely agree r167. One of the things I enjoyed about this show was it was Ru's show and had no qualms of reminding everyone. Him saying "well I decided to say fuck the jury, and pick the final two *I* want" would have been the real gag and great for his brand.

Passably entertaining finale in a flop of a season. I laughed when the queens of the jury were all dressed miles better than the actual contestants. They looked like a group of comic book villains, so great. Ben looked like he was drowning in a sea of scarlet feathers and it was one of the most epic looks ever. Almost thought Shangela would win and felt an incredible release when she didn't. That is all.
Bring on the new season!
by Anonymous | reply 174 | March 16, 2018 11:56 AM |
The one with the worst track record of the final four winds up in the top two because she "needed it the most?" That's a dumb reason to choose a top queen. It should be based on how they performed in the competition not who needs a career boost.
I like Kennedy ok, she does have her moments but overall she was the weakest of the top four. I was also pretty underwhelmed by Bebe. Shangela deserved to be in the top two. Trixie took a while to really shine this time around but I think her work outside of this competition was taken into consideration when choosing her, and I can see why Ru would do that.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | March 16, 2018 12:36 PM |
"For me, this competition is all about transparency." - Aja, as they were deliberating
WHUT? I thought this competition was all about charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent? This show isn't about someone running for office, it's about a drag queen who can entertain the most, Jesus.
Seems like those who suck at drag on this show the most (Aja, Morgan, Thorgy) are the biggest loudmouths. One has to compensate for one's lack of talent somehow, I suppose.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | March 16, 2018 12:50 PM |
I have to say this season was probably the most lackluster in all of Drag Race history. The only two consistent Queens this season were Ben and Shangela. I like Trixie but her victory seems hallow given her performance throughout the season.
R167 I worried that Drag Race's move to VH1 would affect the quality of the show and it has. Ru appears to have abdicated some of his control in order to collect a bigger paycheck. You could tell he was shocked and not happy when Shangela was not selected as the top two.
Also anyone else notice how pissed off Ben looked during the finale? He seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | March 16, 2018 12:51 PM |
I love Trixie and predicted she was going to win way before the season started. She just has it, like Alaska. They've done the most out of drag race. In Trixie's case, she's miles ahead of any other queen on her season. I didn't expect her to struggle as she did at the start of the competition, but if the title is to be inducted into the "Drag Race Hall of Fame" then I can't think of anyone else who would been more deserving out of that cast.
Shangela is a great entertainer, and she deserved the spot on the top two. She has given us some of the funniest moments during the show's run, but in terms of overall package, there seems to be something that's still not there yet.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | March 16, 2018 12:54 PM |
I can't think of anyone else who would been more deserving out of that cast
R178 I like Trixie and was hoping she'd win from the start but isn't that sentence of yours kinda silly when you look at the fact that she failed to win a single challenge this season? She's by definition not the most deserving out of that cast.
by Anonymous | reply 179 | March 16, 2018 1:04 PM |
I almost feel like this season was rigged for Trixie to win. She didn't win a single challenge this season and Kennedy gave a better lip sync.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | March 16, 2018 1:11 PM |
The worst thing I can say about Shangela is that she must have JUST binge watched Game of Thrones before starting the competition or was obnoxiously vying for a role on that show.
But she knew what the outcome was going to be from this twist in the way the last two finalists were chosen.
"Let's look at the six; three of them, I ended their "Drag Race" journey, two of them are looking me like, "That should be me up there. I was eliminated too early." And one of them, she sent herself to the house only to have to come back so I know she's like, "Bitch, that could be me." Honey, I got zero out of the six.
R177 Ben did not smile once during Shanela's interview panel and even refused to clap for him at the end. throwing his hands up in the air and turning to the side while making a stink face, instead.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | March 16, 2018 1:11 PM |
I'm glad this season is over. It's frustrating to me to have people deciding on winners based on hurt feelings and egos. Like celebrity Big Brother this year. Ross Matthews and Shangela have a lot to talk about now.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | March 16, 2018 1:17 PM |
I don't understand Aja now saying she'd change her vote to Shangela after having watched the whole show. Umm, have you *seen* Shangela being literally the only one who kept going on and on about strategy and alliances and playing the game?!
I keep piling on Aja because she's just the worst.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | March 16, 2018 1:17 PM |
R177 & R181 It wasn't just with Shangela, Ben just seemed pissed the whole time. I know Ben has a complicated history with Drag Race as he felt that producers were trying to create drama and rigging outcomes to serve the best interest of story lines. I have a feeling he just didn't want to be there after he eliminated himself.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | March 16, 2018 1:29 PM |
Well Ben did quit over not wanting to vote and yet is brought back almost instantly to vote again.
With that said, Ben ruined this season. First by quitting and second by not standing up for Shangela, who was the winner based on Ben’s own way of voting. Ben did tonight what Morgan’s had called her out for. I still think Ben wants the best this season but I do think she’s phony as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | March 16, 2018 1:33 PM |
I really feel like the ending of the show was rigged in such a way that the obvious front funner wouldn't win. Or maybe Shangela is a really bitch behind the scenes but the show was edited in such a way to make her look better?
by Anonymous | reply 186 | March 16, 2018 1:50 PM |
I’m surprised more people aren’t realizing and blaming the bitter queens on the panel rather than anyone else. In a country that elected Trump no less, are people surprised that a bunch of catty bitchy queens picked lesser deserving queens to be in the final, so they could feel better about their own victimhood? Nope.

by Anonymous | reply 191 | March 16, 2018 2:22 PM |
R191 No shit. You shouldn't take it super seriously. It's entertaining and the winner gets a boost in their career, but it's about men dressing as women. Take it as you want. You're starting a stupid argument.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | March 16, 2018 2:32 PM |
I didn't think much of Trixie's lip synch, shaking on the floor like she was having a diabetic fit. Her interview was terrible as well. Kennedy might be a bit low key and tuned out in the make up room but she really delivers on stage. None of those queens could touch her in the production number. And Trixie has a FAT ass.
by Anonymous | reply 193 | March 16, 2018 2:42 PM |
Trixie is my absolute favorite. From Wisconsin, I watch every episode of Unnhhh, I get her sense of humor. But she shouldn't have won and I don't think she'll like the backlash that's already started. I don't like it either.
by Anonymous | reply 194 | March 16, 2018 2:54 PM |
Have you heard Trixie's country music? Kind of random.
I think she's very funny on UNHHHH but beyond that, not really as well rounded as some of the other queens. Ben's Maggie Smith / Dowager Countess snatch game was one of the best...she is funny and also delivers better looks than Trixie does. I thought he was a top queen since way back then. The stupid self-elimination screwed up the show. Shangela probably deserves "most improved queen" - especially vs. Bebe who hasn't changed at all. Though, does that make someone an all star? I don't know... also I think Shangela is able to show more facets than Trixie as a drag queen. She does a better job at giving looks through many eras of drag vs. Kennedy who is a little more "classic queen".
I think this season was just badly cast and maybe a mistake altogether.

I said after AS2 when Rolaskatox kept saving each other over and over (including Detox screwing herself out of possibly winning the crown by not eliminating Alaska when she had the chance) that they should have dropped the 'queens eliminating each other' gimmick. Now look what happened.

Shangela is a true All Star and should have been on that wall since AS1. Oh well. At least now she can soak in the drama of everyone defending her amazingness.
by Anonymous | reply 217 | March 16, 2018 4:35 PM |
Yes R217 ruined for literally generations!

I missed the episode. Why was Morgan the one that got to pick the final two with her lipsticks?

Morgan gave the consensus.

So the Bebe Is A Mole rumor wasn’t true after all. So not all spoiler rumors are true.
Funny that the Mole rumor made Bebe look good and above the fray, just where she thinks she deserves to be. But no, Bebe is just a regular old queen who lost Drag Race.
I assume that she’ll fade back into obscurity.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | March 16, 2018 5:58 PM |
Christ.... That was practically unanimous!
Would never have predicted that Kennedy would be so many of their first choices.
by Anonymous | reply 233 | March 16, 2018 5:59 PM |
Kennedy got most of the votes. Okay then. Thanks, r230.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | March 16, 2018 6:02 PM |
RuPaul pretty much invented the type of drag that is popular today thanks to her career longevity and success and of course thanks to Drag Race.
Shangela is just one of many followers of RuPaul. A fine imitation but nothing original. Unless she totally changes her act and reveals some hidden talent or skill, I don’t see Shangela ever eclipsing RuPaul. She’ll always be a “Ru Girl.”
by Anonymous | reply 235 | March 16, 2018 6:03 PM |
Kennedy and Shangela deserved to be in the Top 2 because they each are responsible for the two greatest monologue's in Drag Race history—Shangela's "sugar daddy" speech and Kennedy's "crystallized" soliloquy.
Trixie has not come anywhere close to either of those moments of genius.

My German friend was pissed and I felt sucker-punched until I reminded him of this Reddit post in 2015:
Production did things to get a rise out of fans. They WANT you to be pissed off. They WANT you to feel something by watching the show and they succeeded. Everyone is talking about the elimination. Buzz is good, even if it’s bad. WoW had to play a nasty hand and they won out while pissing people off and scoring a major spike on social media. I keep saying it: RPDR is a giant story that unfolds one episode at a time and at the end you’re like ‘aha! I get it now!’ Fame was right: it’ll all make sense later.”
New DL Fave Tricia. SMH LOL I'll never watch this episode again.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | March 16, 2018 6:24 PM |
One of our local drag queens gets insanely incensed when anyone dares to discuss Drag Race on social media and scolds them that it is not real and says you might as well be watching a soap opera., as if we don’t know it’s just entertainment. She just has sour grapes because she’d never make it on the show with her limited talent, despite being the headliner at our city’s now closed drag bar.

by Anonymous | reply 249 | March 16, 2018 8:09 PM |

Though she’s been on a few times, she’s never won, I believe
by Anonymous | reply 250 | March 16, 2018 8:11 PM |
r249 yes the GOT references got really old. Apparently, the show was rushed. It tapped when Trixie was taping the new season of Trixe and Katya - and at the same time Kayta took her "break" and they had to get Bob to fill in..so I can see why her first half was bad.

Maybe Shangela should stick to posing and leave the jokes to Trixie. Here she is flopping on network TV.
by Anonymous | reply 255 | March 16, 2018 8:26 PM |
Keep in mind that Shangela’s “hilarious reads” were prepared in advance of the appearance
by Anonymous | reply 256 | March 16, 2018 8:28 PM |
Shangela's neither witty nor quick. I think it was KimChi who said she just talks, talks, talks [italic]constantly,[/italic] which she experienced firsthand while on tour with her. It's really not that difficult to find a semi-entertaining gem or two in that verbal diarrhoea of hers. I just feel sorry for the poor editor who had to wade through all the bullshit to find said quips. Which weren't all that, to begin with.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | March 16, 2018 8:31 PM |
r254 It'll be interesting to see Trixie's career progression. I think this is the first time a mainstream drag queen was popularized by the teenage/tween market so I wonder how they'll "grow" with her. (More than likely they'll age out of being intrigued by her)
by Anonymous | reply 258 | March 16, 2018 8:52 PM |
Should have gone to Kennedy over Trixie based on the season performances. Cyrus was a god-damned awful choice for final lyp AND they both looked like shit but Kennedy doing her Martha Graham was quite horrible, poor thing. She was great in the episode production number.

Trixie has Drag Race and drag appearances as well as a hit spin off show and hit music.
Has anyone mentioned that her PB&J sandwich video was nominated for a prestigious Beard Award?
I think she’ll be around for a while. And she won’t be chopping her dick off!
by Anonymous | reply 262 | March 16, 2018 9:54 PM |
I’ve only seen Trixie on Drag Race, nowhere else. He seems like a nice guy but has been thoroughly unimpressive.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | March 16, 2018 10:18 PM |
R251, All Stars 3 was taped before any of that happened. The queens are sequestered, so, it’s not as if Trixie was going out at night to do her other jobs. They’re locked in their hotel rooms between tapings.
by Anonymous | reply 264 | March 16, 2018 11:35 PM |
Don't lose sight of the what happened. Shangela wasn't put in the top two. That's the travesty. I would still be disappointed that Rupaul chose Trixie over Shangela, but that's her prerogative. What PISSES me off is the pettiness of the returning queens. I don't care if she was a cunt during filming, she deserved being in the top two by winning more times and always winning the Legacy lipsync.
The irony is after so many queens have shouted "This AIN'T Rupaul's best friend race" - this season it WAS Rupaul's best friend race.
And I like Trixie, and through not fault of her own her "star" has been diminished by the events caused by the returning queens.
And Ben comes off really bad, since he broke his own elimination rules and now DOES look like a hypocrite even though I disagreed with Morgan's attack on him before.
I hated this season, but it will be LEGENDARY (not legs and dairy)
by Anonymous | reply 265 | March 17, 2018 12:04 AM |

What I'm dying to know is IF Shangela had been in the top two - who would Ru have chosen?
Trixie ain't much of a lipsync -er and Shangela would have turned it out. Would Rupaul still have chosen Trixie? Kennedy did a better job than Trixie in the sing off but still lost (cuz I mean - c'mon - Kenned winner of All Stars? Not today, Satan). Would it have even a bigger scandal if Rupaul was forced to choose between S and T? Did Ru dodge a bullet?
All I know is I wouldn't be as pissed if Shangela had been in top two and still lost.

I don’t care that much who wins, but this season was just a mess and RuPaul giving up or appearing to give up his power to the contestants screws with the mood of the show. I don’t like it. I watch for entertainment and to see creative people at work, not for faux plot twists and drama.

Cuntradamus at R268 thinks that mistaking the meaning of pyrrich (sic) and adding to her illiteracy by dibbling an "i" in her correction somehow proves something. Trixie won. The World History of Technology Forever Memory Proclamation Eternity Shazzam will show that she won and had a wonderful career, with her album hitting #1 today to start the next successful phase.
But worse is R268, The Pyrric Victory Troll, straw-manning it all by declaring that tweens' supposed support shows Trixie doesn't care. The PVT in action. So wise. Never mind that her fans come from all sorts of groups and people. Such as me. I didn't have a favorite going in but came to see Trixie's intelligence, wit, clean and clever looks (brilliant!), vision, adaptability and professionalism as the one that best entertained me and fit the RPDR need.
Shangela was lovely, learned a lot, but relied on overly studied catchphrases and gimmicks. She's gorgeous and dances great. But she's derivative. Period. There's absolutely nothing original there. Nothing. Wonderfully entertaining but a closer look shows she's more like one of those people you see in a Star Impersonation Revue. A patchwork. The other queens didn't vote her in the top two because of reasons other than envy or her sending people home. She got only one vote, after all.
And R281, who doesn't get it, doesn't get it. So? You can't talk to the foot stomper. You just wait until their Little Miss Teapot routine wears them out and they collapse crying themselves into nappy time. Not getting your way doesn't prove that anything was stolen. It just shows who you are by what you say about it.
Good for Trixie!
by Anonymous | reply 283 | March 17, 2018 1:43 AM |
None of the queens are that great and that includes Bianca, who even though quick witted and snarky in person melts away in performance. A string of 'reads' of other queens and borscht belt jokes about small-dicked Asians and room-servicing Latinos makes for a lack-lustre evening however much it might please the stans. The prominent queens are making money currently and the best of luck to them but they shine better on the show than in the real world.
by Anonymous | reply 284 | March 17, 2018 1:54 AM |
Shangela said today that she’s bummed Trixie is getting threats, impressed that Thorgy bites for her and hurt no one else did. She insisted that the eliminated queens should get no hate messages.
Then she said the shadiest girl was one who was bullied online early on, started an anti bullying campaign and dropped that once she was off the show. I think she was talking about Milk. Milk also went off on fans who think Shangela was robbed dissing them and all.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | March 17, 2018 2:33 AM |
You don't get it r283, look at Trixie's snatch game and tell me that was season winning material. There was no moment in AS3 where Trixie truly outshone the other queens. Her lipsynchs were stiff, her comedy was cringe, her look was make up on a dead horse. The only edge she has over the other queens is that her humour appeals to autistic teenagers.
by Anonymous | reply 286 | March 17, 2018 2:33 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 289 | March 17, 2018 2:57 AM |
Actually, they said they were taping Trixie and Katya at the same time - they tape in the same studio as RPDR at WOW. Bebe was also not supposed to be in it, it was supposed to be Onjina but they snubbed her in AS1 so she turned down AS3 when they came calling. They wanted a S1 queen with name recognition and Nina and Shannel had already done AS.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | March 17, 2018 3:03 AM |
Trixie is not but my favorite but I feel badly for her because this will never be seen as a true victory. She will forever be the AllStar who won because Ben self evicted or because the bitter eliminated queens held a grudge against Shangela. It's not Trixie's fault she won but it's a hollow win due to the fucked up production.
by Anonymous | reply 291 | March 17, 2018 3:23 AM |
R291 is 100% correct. I like Miss Tricia, but let's be real, she only won due to those two circumstances coming together in her favor. No way in hell would Kennedy have been considered a remotely legitimate choice for an All Stars winner, so the final lip sync was practically moot.

by Anonymous | reply 302 | March 17, 2018 11:06 AM |
Drag may not be that serious, but ratings sure are. I'm waiting to see what the new season looks like because if it sucks again like All Stars and the last season, we're seeing an unfortunate trend.
Watched Trixie's viewing party at Roscoe's last night and changed my mind about her. She's just great; thoughtful and witty and self-aware. Kennedy's appearance a couple of weeks ago was similarly eye-opening (in a good way) so they were both deserving finalists. Shangela was the only one who bailed on the invitation because of course.
by Anonymous | reply 303 | March 17, 2018 12:21 PM |
sorry - but shangela deserved on the win solely on her lip sync in the fat suit. That was brilliant and should have secured her the win. Trixie is good - but didn't deserve the win. The final two SHOULD have been Ben and Shangela - now THAT would have been a finale!
by Anonymous | reply 304 | March 17, 2018 2:21 PM |
Ben should have won. easily. No one was on her level, not even Shangela. Even when she faced off against Shangela she was better by being campy to her dancing ability. It was fun and different.

by Anonymous | reply 307 | March 17, 2018 2:38 PM |
The whole thing at r242 seems a bit over the top. Do they really need to do all that crap? Why would they want to be talked about negatively just "to be talked about" ? They will get plenty of positive praise without these games that the writer alleges are being played. Of course reality shows have a lot of editing and some scripting, but the extent of it in r242 just seems excessive & odd.
Remember, this started as a cheap little drag show with a niche audience on Logo for the first several years. It grew just fine without all these weird games (other than Tyra's win always seemed a bit odd, but Ru may have seen some kind of kinship with her younger self). Many seasons have had the fans tweet their favorites in to win, and yes Ru still decides, but it has usually been somewhat in-line. The All Stars seasons are always a bit odd. Chad Michaels winning was basically saying "sorry we fucked up and didn't let you win in the regular season."
by Anonymous | reply 308 | March 17, 2018 2:51 PM |
Trixie sucked-didn't win a single contest and her final lip sync was lackluster at best. It was cringeworthy to see the judges fall all over themselves praising her at the end when she should have been booted gar earlier and didn't improve one bit.

I felt bad for Kennedy who said that all the other tables are full of people wanting pictures with Trixie and Shangela and then they rush over at the end wanting pictures with her 5 minutes before it all ends. Obviously she did not have a good experience at DragCon. I do have to say - that rainbow dress? I mean Trixie was right they read her for the last rainbow dress as being tired and cliche and she wears another one?

R308 R311 - I recently watched a YouTube video exploring that very same theory. Yeah, most fan theories are simply hot air but there were some good points to consider in this one.
But Sharon had set the bar so high right from the start of S4 that everyone else was pretty much playing catch up for the rest of the season.

I went to the first DragCon and Kennedy is correct but the looooooong { I mean hours long } were for a few like Trixie , Katya, Pearl, Adore and Ru. I'm not sure if Kennedy realized how ridiculous those lines were. She just saw a ton of people. I felt bad for the vendors near those lines. No one was selling shit. The area was just filled will people wanting selfies.

I was referring to the hundreds of people with the same opinions / theories - r311.... I didn't know the video in r313 existed but that's what the issue was.
I can't even remember that season that well or why Sharon was that superior to Chad. They had very different styles to say the least. Of course you have the nothing-is-subjective / only-I-am-correct view of a proper DL-er style of commenting, so no need to respond further.

THEN I scrolled through the genres and checked singer/songwriter...his album is number one. Here’s a screen capture.

The whole season was just weird. I think what made AS2 such a success was a lot of season 5 girls. Rolaskatox, Alyssa, Doritoface, This season was odd. It seemed pieced together. They should have done the same thing and put together a group of girls from a season and throw in a few odd season girls.

If the show was going to morph into a stupid version of Survivor the girls should have known from the start I have never been able to get through a single episode of the Tracey and Katya show, it is unfunny dribble Tracey also has a bung eye, why has nobody on DL mentioned that cock up, the bung eye unfunny cock

r321 AS2 was lightning in a bottle. I was talking about this with a friend earlier that the season worked so well because, yes, the season 5 cliques but also season 5 was truly talented. The top 6 of that season all could pull off comedy, acting, lip syncing, and fashion. So to have them together again as they've finessed their drag was brilliant. This season, yeah, was pure shit.

Shangela would have been the great arc of drag race. From first eliminated to season two, to winning All Stars. A great story of grit, determination and self-improvement. Pity they didn't realize that.
Also she had stunts on stunts planned for that lip sync, could have actually delivered a great finale that Trixie and Kennedy did not.
OK, listen. I'm so glad you asked that. No one has asked me that yet. I was ready. Do you hear me? Here's the deal. This was the finale. And "Wrecking Ball" is not necessarily a big, high kicks and flips kind of song. But you can make a moment, and that's what I wanted to do every time I was on that runway. And I think I did: the Beyoncé baby bump floral, I came down the runway in a plastic ball, I had a costume that inflated like Lady Gaga.
I had that gold coat on. But under that, I had stapled these blown-up, white balloons that I had filled with confetti and glitter, right? They were on my titties and in my nether region, OK? I had a dart in my hand. During the song -- "I came in like a wrecking ..." -- I was gonna bust the balloons, and all the glitter and confetti would fly out. Then I had a piñata taped to the back of my coat, filled with candy, with a sledgehammer up my sleeve. And I was gonna beat it on the line, "I never meant to start a war." I was ready, bitch! That's what hurt me more than anything. F*** the money. I wanted to do my lip sync. It was going to be memorable, unforgettable, so watching that lip sync from the back, I was just like, "Oh, girl. Send me to the house."

Im just a casual watcher and dont really know anything about these performers outside of the show. Usually even if I dont agree I can understand why a decision is made or why one drag queen wins over another. But I cannot for the life of me understand what the appeal of Trixie is. There is no star quality at all, he/she is not particularly funny or even interesting to listen to, and is completely forgettable. Ben or Shangela would have been valid winners but I just can't understand from any objective perspective what the appeal of Trixie Mattel is.

Trixie and Katya's show "Uhhh" became a huge viral smash r326. Personally it doesn't do it much for me, but people love it. Trixie and Katya became huge fan favorites with their "quirky" humor and online presence.

I agree about Trixie, having only seen him on RPDR. Charisma? Nyet. Uniqueness? OK. Nerve? Not really based on what I’ve seen. Talent? He seems talented, but I don’t see how talent for country/folk music integrates with campy drag. It’s a major disconnect for me.

Katya returns from her hiatus

I hope she is actually in a good head space now.

Just watched Michelle interview Shangela and Michelle all but said Shangie should have been in the top two.

Ha ha, all the crying here is embarrassing. It’s a game show, not a talent show. Blame Ben and the jury if you did like outcome. Whiny bitches

R325 that lip sync would have been EPIC. Shame she didn’t get the chance to perform it.

Well as was famously said "this ain't RuPaul's best friends race!", except now it is. Literally this season was set up to be RuPaul's best friends race. How do you in the challenges doesn't matter, how much people like you does.
How the show has changed from when RuPaul was happy to crown Tyra. Didn't matter that she was a bitch, she slayed and at the time that was all that mattered.

Trixie has a "hit TV show?" Since when? It's a show on VICELAND, and pretty terrible at that. Especially with the equally unfunny Bob the Drag Queen filling in on it.
People waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overestimate Trixie's successes.

Stunts during lip sync are unnecessary IMO. Just give me a spectacular LS like Dida Ritz did.

Is there some purity to the drag queens lip syncing to a song?
Give me an entertaining performance. Shangela's fat suit lipsync was one of the most entertaining parts of the season. When I go to a drag show, I just want to have fun, nothing more complicated than that.

Yes it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it but the outfit itself was messy. It was very Shang. There's usually something out of place with her looks.

They need to overhaul the judging and get professionals in there. The judging needs to be a transparent system of technical points on a range of lip sync criteria. Half a point off if a song lyric isn’t clearly enunciated, half a point earned if the queen’s facial expression matches the emotion of the song, etc.
Make it scientific! Take all the fun out of it! That’s what the audience demands!

Trixie has had the number #1 album on iTunes. She is the next Dolly Parton
These queens are friends, so why can’t fans see that? Is the pointless anger due to Facebook and Twitter?

Thanks r325.
I was wondering what that gold tinsel was hiding.
by Anonymous | reply 341 | March 18, 2018 11:13 PM |
Wikipedia says Milk is only 6’ tall - I would’ve thought more like 6’6”. Those other queens must be tiny.
by Anonymous | reply 342 | March 18, 2018 11:47 PM |
Are you looking for for his real name r342? because I think you got the wrong one. This isn't him.
by Anonymous | reply 343 | March 19, 2018 12:04 AM |
Thanks R343. I was on several pages and just quickly scrolled down. So how tall is he?
by Anonymous | reply 344 | March 19, 2018 12:09 AM |
The show says 6'6", other places say 6'4". People says in six inch heels he's almost 7'.So, he's tall :)

Ru tall.

Speaking of tall, skip to 17:20 for a quick glimpse of Georges, RuPaul’s husband.

I am over RuPaul and his lying fuckery but I do love what he says to Xtina in this season 10 promo clip!!

I am late to this party, but just wanted to say ..........
Trixie ?? Ugh ....... I would've just preferred to see Trixie have a really solid season (like Katya did on AS2) and do well overall .............
But this win belonged to Shangela ............. who as someone said on another thread handed this win to Trixie by not kicking her to the curb while she had the chance.
HATED the ousted queens picking the final two (Kennedy ............really ?? That was just an FY to Shangela) ........ hated 'Miss Congeniality' Bendelacreme (what a stupid way to play. No All Star there), hated Bebe (who ??)
by Anonymous | reply 351 | March 30, 2018 7:11 PM |
R352, I believe the ousted queens did vote, but Ru always gets the final say. And at least she has the cajones to say good bye!
by Anonymous | reply 352 | April 3, 2018 1:56 AM |
I think Ru was in on it but I also think he knew Shangela deserved it. I think he did it because he was pressured by his company. Obvs they would prefer Trixie to win. He went along with it because he’s sold out and at this point just wants the treats that come along with being mainstream.
