Stanford doesn't offer a part-time MBA, a lot of elite programs don't. They'll take the two years off to be business school students.

I find this perfectly normal. In the "Who cemented your type?" thread, my answer was "Me." I think it's instinctive to be drawn to those who are like us, in my case, skinny, nerdy white boys with dark hair (who eventually started working out, but still).

I don't know Ian's story, but I do Rex lost his mom at a very young age. The video of him talking about how he and his brother's favorite color is pink because that was her favorite color gets me anytime I see it.

So he seems nice and has been through stuff. He does a lot of charity work I think because losing his mom to cancer. But then their is the damn Instagram profile and everything just seems so shallow, forced, and overly perfect.

Look. I truely feel for Rex losing his mom. Feels like she could have/should have been there if only things had been a little different. It sucks, nobody should live without parents or role models. But they do, all the time, every damn day, in situations much worse than his. That being said, she passed when he was about a year old. He didn't know her, he doesn't remember her. Her memory influenced him sure, but she personally never did. His honoring her by saying he loves pink comes across as super scripted and disingenuous. It's a beautiful sentiment crafted mostly for maintaining his magnanimous persona. If she'd passed when he was 15, he'd have a real connection with a real person, and I'd be more inclined to believe that his mom's cancer meant more to him than a college admissions essay or a sob story for video views on the internet..

The story is beyond tragic. The dad lost his wife and their third child to a sudden cancer while she was pregnant. He was left alone to raise two toddlers, Rex and his older brother, all while being a surgeon. There's no doubt his dad was torn apart for life and will never get over that loss, mad respect to him. I believe Rex has his heart in the right place, but his story should be about his dad, not his mom. Playing up his connection with her for online news or YouTube or social media is honestly just disrespectful to his father and/or whoever else stepped up to raise him in her place.
