Yes, the production is a horror. Sam Gold is suffering from an advanced case of the Ivo van Hove Virus and will hopefully recover with at least a few brain cells intact.

The Gentleman Caller is a role that's hard to screw up. Wintrock is fine, but Brian J. Smith (from Sense8) gave the best performance I've seen in that role in the marvelous production with Cherry Jones and Zachary Quinto.

Field was in a very good production at Kennedy Center about 12-13 years ago and was very impressive as Amanda.

I saw the production last year, and I thought it was great. I had never seen it, nor did I know anything about the story beforehand, and I sat there utterly transfixed by it.
