I dislike his media persona and I HATE his music.
I dislike Elton John

Who asked you?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 26, 2015 8:05 PM |
Why do you think anyone would care about your opinion program troll?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 26, 2015 8:06 PM |
um, nobody asked for my opinion, elton. it's just a fact. i wanted you to know that.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 26, 2015 8:07 PM |
R1= just a pawn outplayed by a dominating queen
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 26, 2015 8:08 PM |
opinions aren't facts program troll.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 26, 2015 8:09 PM |
elton john sucks.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 26, 2015 8:12 PM |
I just blocked two other PMBRT threads. How many IPs does he have going at once?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 26, 2015 8:13 PM |
DONT WORRY ELTON. IT'LL BE OK.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 26, 2015 8:15 PM |
I love R1's response.
& I love early Elton John music.
His first successful album, 'Elton John' (great title) was so beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 26, 2015 8:22 PM |
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 26, 2015 8:26 PM |
OP, I'm writing and dedicating a new song to you: Flamer Candle & the Windbag.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 26, 2015 8:33 PM |
Good Program Troll, we knew you better than your own family, you had the nerve to troll yourself, while those around you yawned
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 26, 2015 8:41 PM |
Shut up Kiki
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 26, 2015 8:42 PM |
"I dislike Elton John."
Mr. Putin, your press release should not be issued before you actually meet Elton.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 26, 2015 8:46 PM |
He's Still Standing, OP
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 26, 2015 8:46 PM |
elton isn't my gay god. sorry.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 26, 2015 8:47 PM |
This is the most action the Program Troll's gotten in a while.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 26, 2015 8:49 PM |
I'm back after a lonnnnnnnnng absence. Could you please let me know the Program Troll's MO and markers so I can duly ignore?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 26, 2015 8:52 PM |
That's a shame OP as Elton always speaks so highly of you.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 26, 2015 8:56 PM |
he was great in the 70s but lost it in he 80s - the last good single he had was "I'm Still Standing" - he got to be very ugly on the outside and inside as his career progressed - at least these days he's campaigning actively for gay rights
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 26, 2015 9:07 PM |
R20 you cannot ignore PMBR Troll because he has multiple computers and clears cookies.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 26, 2015 9:13 PM |
You can hate almost everything about Elton John except his 70's music.
It is/was amazing.
He's the 5th biggest selling music artist of all time. Only The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Madonna have sold more records.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 26, 2015 9:23 PM |
OH MY GOD
R21 is my mother, back from the grave.
Hi Mom! We miss you. I broke your favorite gravy boat last Thanksgiving, don't tell Dad.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 26, 2015 9:25 PM |
He will NOT be IGNORED, R20. As R23 explains he trolls us from multiple devices. Just look for banal assertions à la 'I hate Elton John', EST posts about his dragon lady mother locking him in rooms, pictures of women we gays are asked to find attractive, and most tellingly, a question on some mediocre non-issue posed in a petulantly insistent tone.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 26, 2015 10:10 PM |
..And I forgot to add, look for questions about England and whether living there is enjoyable. And Tom Hardy stanning.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 26, 2015 10:12 PM |
And yet people express affection for him which only leads him to post more and more of his incessant nonsense. He's effectively made DL his blog, but, we get the "I like him" posts from those who either like babysitting the deranged or enjoy poking cages at side shows.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 26, 2015 10:16 PM |
Yes, he has his little cheering squad of enablers, R28. They'll fall silent when he shoots up the local mall, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 26, 2015 10:20 PM |
is he still hanging out with his close friend Rush Limbaugh? EJ scored a million for playing at RL's wedding. what a whore.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 26, 2015 10:33 PM |
I was in the 10th grade when "Your Song" came out in 1970.
Didn't much care for him then and still don't.
I never bought any of his singles/albums/cassettes/CDs, etc.
He may be rich but not with my $.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 26, 2015 10:44 PM |
I like Ellen Degeneris
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 26, 2015 10:47 PM |
crocodile rock is one of the most stupid songs ever recorded.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 26, 2015 10:52 PM |
R33, that's my favorite. What's stupid about it? It's not profound, just a lot of fun (like rock & roll in general).
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 26, 2015 11:15 PM |
i just find it extremely annoying to listen to.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 26, 2015 11:16 PM |
He was hot snot when I was in college.
Now he's just cold boogers.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 26, 2015 11:18 PM |
He's behaved like an ass at times, but what's the big deal about that? He's made a lot of good music. I wonder what music the OP finds compelling? Britney Spears, probably.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 26, 2015 11:23 PM |
how about joni mitchell asshole!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 26, 2015 11:24 PM |
One's dislikes reveal more about one's inadequacies and that should be kept private; keep others guessing as to just how stupid you are OP.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 26, 2015 11:25 PM |
You cannot match the absolute perfection of his LIVE voice here. Don't deny it. Elton was THE BOMB in the 70's. Hit after hit. Perfect voice.
Suck it, haters. I love Elton and always will.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 26, 2015 11:26 PM |
oh i'm inadequate because i dislike elton john? and i'm stupid? lmao.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 26, 2015 11:27 PM |
R41 I am very confused. Are you the OP? Because that person is successfully blocked for me, for the moment.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 26, 2015 11:31 PM |
Elton John had a beautiful voice.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 26, 2015 11:32 PM |
R38 Joni Mitchell is no hypocrite or elitist whore.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 26, 2015 11:34 PM |
I adore Joni Mitchell and I adore Elton John. Good music is good music, it's not a contest for fuck's sake.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 27, 2015 12:00 AM |
Loved EJ back in the 70s but now think he's god awful.
Strangely enough have done as well a 180 on Karen Carpenter but in the opposite direction.
Still love Rocket Man though.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 27, 2015 12:14 AM |
We're supposed to like him because he's gay and ignore 40 years of coasting in his early songs. Just an ugly, obnoxious old queen.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 27, 2015 12:19 AM |
Me no like him long time
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 27, 2015 12:30 AM |
I always thought he was overrated too.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 27, 2015 12:44 AM |
His voice bugs the shit out of me.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 27, 2015 12:44 AM |
he does not sing, he talks loudly through his songs, sort of like Neil Diamond who I like very much
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 27, 2015 12:48 AM |
Crocodile Rock was my jam...in 6th grade.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 27, 2015 12:59 AM |
I think the two-record album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was his height - so many great songs and his best rocker, "Sat. Night's Alright" - "All the Young Girls Love Alice", "Harmony", "Benny",
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 27, 2015 1:00 AM |
Of course he's singing in the 70's, R51. He's singing straightforward, on key, good range, and often poignantly. Duh. Very few male pop stars today can sing so simply and honestly.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 27, 2015 1:04 AM |
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is considered one of the 100 best rock albums of all time.
Pick a list, any list
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 27, 2015 1:09 AM |
I've been playing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road since I first bought it on vinyl in the 70's. I still play it today. I've bought a few of Elton's albums five or six times in different media formats.
It's great music.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 27, 2015 1:12 AM |
In some ways, 1970s Elton was a less edgy version of David Bowie. G-rated glitter/glam rock for the masses. He was HUGE when I was in junior high and I was a huge fan.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 27, 2015 1:35 AM |
I don't like him either. Over rated.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 27, 2015 1:40 AM |
"I've been playing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road since I first bought it on vinyl in the 70's. I still play it today.'
So do I. It still holds up. A lot of his music still does. It's amazing how he could take Bernie Taupin's frequently mediocre lyrics and make a great song out of it.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 27, 2015 2:44 AM |
[quite]Of course he's singing in the 70's, [R51]. He's singing straightforward, on key, good range, and often poignantly. Duh. Very few male pop stars today can sing so simply and honestly.
Well described and absolutely true.
There are a few male singers who sing honestly today but they seem to be very dirgy...maybe Coldplay is the big influence. That's the style. Then you get the over-emoters.
The women singers just seem to shreik. It just seems to be about trying to create an impressive performance and it all sounds off key to me. No real emotion. No melody. Very, very odd.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 27, 2015 6:07 AM |
My mom always used to listen to the album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" when driving. I have a fondness for it. It's one of those albums you can listen to all the way through. But there's no accounting for taste, OP. If you don't like him, you don't like him.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 3, 2021 2:27 AM |
I do too OP. He is the epitome of repulsive because of his repulsive personalty and whatever that thing on his head is... He is a very unpleasant person.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 3, 2021 2:31 AM |
[quote] His first successful album, 'Elton John' (great title) was so beautiful.
I agree, R10. Then everything turned to pastiche.
Then to schlock.
Then to Disney.
I may have something to do with the absence of Taupin, I don't know.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 3, 2021 2:36 AM |
[quote] My mom always used to listen to the album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" when driving.
That's a good album. So is Madman across the Water.
It's the later stuff (Can You Feel the Love Tonight) that gives people bad feelings.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 3, 2021 2:38 AM |
OP has stated her boundaries!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 3, 2021 2:39 AM |
His voice is average. His songs sound the same but I like them. He is a very ugly person on the inside.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 3, 2021 2:43 AM |
He loves beautiful things.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 3, 2021 2:46 AM |
Yes OP, Elton is a nasty Queen.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 3, 2021 2:59 AM |
These were some of the greatest rock and roll albums ever created:
"Elton John"
"Madman Across The Water"
"Honky Chateau"
"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
"Tumbleweed Connection"

He’s so fat he looks like a hot air balloon.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 3, 2021 9:50 AM |
Okay, who's resuscitating these threads from 300 years ago??
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 3, 2021 9:55 AM |
It’s funny that he always toured with Billy Joel because very few people I know are fans of both.
But at least one of them knew when to quit (churning out new crap, that is).
