gay or straight? and who's she dating?
|by Anonymous||reply 142||08/28/2014|
She used to leave with Keith Carradine but he dumped her for being too needy.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||12/10/2012|
I thought she was gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||12/10/2012|
oops make that "live" with Keith....it was a while ago. She may have just been sleeping with him to advance her career and is now a lesbian....I don't know. Remember Anne Heche?
|by Anonymous||reply 3||12/10/2012|
Robin was with Elizabeth Sarnoff during "Deadwood" and "Lost". Some say she got her roles on those shows because of her relationship with Sarnoff.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||12/11/2012|
interesting thread! saw the play last night (other desert cities) and thought she totally pinged and now I have a crush on her and want to know more. she reminds me of Dana Delaney...
|by Anonymous||reply 6||12/11/2012|
Gay gay gay. Fluent in German. Totally self-deceiving and very needy. Was pursued relentlessly and unhappily for a while by Cherry Jones. Entirely full of shit though not untalented.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||12/11/2012|
She's been a lesbian for ages, R1/R3; she just hasn't come out in the press.

"Was pursued relentlessly and unhappily for a while by Cherry Jones."
@r7 : when did this happen? Details please? Thanks!
|by Anonymous||reply 12||01/05/2013|
Actually it was the other way around. Deeply fucked up, and truly crazy but talented. She was obsessed with Cherry Jones for years to the point of harassment which Cherry handled with incredible grace. Started her career by having sex with two very unattractive lesbian casting directors. Lived with Elizabeth Sarnoff of Lost fame and that is how she got her role on Lost. In other words, a user. They met when she was on Deadwood. Very very crazy. Burns through relationships. Leaves a trail of ruin. Was very closeted-to the point where she went to the Emmy's with Keith Caradine as a beard rather than bring her girlfriend. Currently in a lesbian movie and brought her brother to the opening. Also bearded with George Clooney in US Magazine years ago. This one has no ethics, is ruthless and yes, she speaks German as her father was a rich doctor.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||01/27/2013|
The details about her obsession with Cherry are thus: robin had sex with a lesbian casting director who put her in as an understudy in a play Cherry was doing Pride's Crossing by Tina Howe. Robin then joined the cast. Based on her sexual attraction to people who have power, can advance her career and who she wants to be, she became so obsessed with Cherry that robin would burst into tears in rehearsal and run out, Or steal Cherry;s bike. This went on for years and years.

r15, Daniel Swee was the casting director for PRIDES CROSSING. Who is the lesbian casting director Robin fucked?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||01/27/2013|
she sound kookoo for cocoa puffs, but she was SO good in Deadwood...
|by Anonymous||reply 18||01/27/2013|
Poor Cherry Jones seems to attract a lot of these fame-hungry women.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||01/27/2013|
She's not really that talented. She was good in Lost but she's no Glenn Close/Meryl Streep/Jessica Lange.At least she didn't go the Sarah Paulson route and screw anything that can get her a job!Robin also has a complex about being better than other actors. Go figure it's not like she got her roles on sheer talent alone either.
Cherry Jones is cute BUT she's not that cute! Is that what lesbians go gaga for? She seems like a nice woman and she has nice eyes but how did she become such a sugar mama?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||01/27/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 21||01/27/2013|
I'll bet Cherry Jones is good in bed.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||01/27/2013|
But who was his assistant? Cherry is a wonderful actor, a star and a very open and real person. Robin wanted to be her, and called that "love,"
|by Anonymous||reply 23||01/27/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 24||01/28/2013|
I have been a huge Robin Weigert fan for awhile and was really surprised to read some of the comments on here. I had now idea about the "Cherry Jones" thing. Does anyone have anymore info on that? I was under the impression she was still dating Elizabeth Sarnoff.

No R27, you're thinking of Robin Wright.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/11/2013|
I have a question about Maggie Siff that I can't seem to find anywhere. She has said in several different interviews that she is getting married, however she always says the word fiance, never 'he'. Even when she talked about her wedding, same thing. She won't give any names and I can find nothing about it online. Also, she recently had a movie debut at Sundance she was in about a suburban lesbian housewife( played by Robin Weigert) who becomes a prostitute for women. Maggie plays one of the clients of Abby(Robin Weigert). In an interview Maggie said she wanted this role because it was 'close to her heart'. I guess what I want to know is, does anyone else think Maggie Siff might be a lesbian?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/14/2013|
As much as I would love that to be true, Maggie Siff is not a lesbian. She did give an interview a couple of months ago, where she talks about her husband and her marriage in Maine.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/14/2013|
I didn't know that about Robin and Cherry. That is actually pretty sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/14/2013|
Whoever has the crush on RW-- RUN the other way. Agreed w/previous post: she's self-delusional & deceptive. I know 2 good people who (unknowingly) got blown apart the Path of Destruction that is the twisted and certifiably narcy Ms Weigert. Answering a couple questions: One of the casting dirs she slept into jobs with was Cindy Tolan, back in NYC. RW cheated on her, maybe with a professor. Then the Cherry Jones obsession, but RW tells it that she was the one being pursued by CJ (lie). Then she stalked an academic/writer, (Schulman?) but again claims SHE was stalked. RW moves to LA with playwright turned tv writer, Sara, who'd totally supported RW's career during lean years, but on Deadwood now, RW does that weird thing with Carradine (was it an affair or just a beard?), then pursues & has an affair with Liz Sarnoff, screwing around on set, (but in RW's mind it didn't count as an affair 'cause she later told a blindsided Sara about it-- while she dumped her for Liz.) After 2 years, things go south with Liz after RW doesn't get handed a contract lead on "Lost", & RW burns bridges w/the producers on "Life" via diva fits about bad writing & how her character should be better. Liz & RW split. RW immediately starts using&abusing a rich banker in NY who spoils her, but then RW cheats on her with a brief return-seduction of Liz. Liz wises up, cuts off contact with increasingly unstable RW. RW quickly hooks up with another gf she has move in with her, but then claims to feel stifled. Gets rid of this gf by flying to DC for a funeral & fucking a family friend there. RW gets angry that the gf gets mad about this, & kicks her out of their apartment. --Can't make this stuff up. What's super scary is that RW flips every story around 180%, makes herself the victim and then BELIEVES IT. I've witnessed this at a dinner party where she didn't know I knew a couple of her ex-gfs & it's disturbing. RW returns to NY to do "Angels" revival, fucks around, eventually starts affair with a married woman (shock! A writer/director who might help her career!). RW demands this girl (Kristen?) leave her husband for her. RW gets the lead in lesbo hooker film w/Maggie Siff (yep, totally straight) - &, unknown to Kristen, RW has affair with the movie's married LESBIAN director. RW has a few more flings while still shining it on for Kristen. Blinded by love or very shitty luck, Kristen leaves the husband as RW wanted, to start their life together, & the ink isn't even dry on the divorce when RW pulls a Jekyl/Hyde & dumps her. RW's moved on to one, possibly two marks since then. Crazy. Apparently mental illness runs in the family (among the doctors). It would be really sad, except she takes down so many other people with her & isn't getting treated.

|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/05/2013|
I know a guy who is friends with Robin. Great guy but he really seems to like her, gay male so of course the dynamic is different, they went to NYU Grad together.
Robin is undeniably talented but how does she get along with other actors?
Cindy Tolan? really?? I had never heard that one.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/05/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/05/2013|
yeah she seems crazy as shit, but NO one has said shes without talent, that says a lot. who cares who she fucks anyway, shes a dyke. one of the very few who actually is kind of cool. that little part she did in snyedoche, new york was great. sublime as calamity jane
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/05/2013|
I'd just like her to stop taking off her clothes in so many roles.
I dunno about the acting chops-- really inconsistent. Sometimes very compelling moments of genius, but sometimes ridiculous fakey-fakey and I can't believe a line she says. Maybe it depends on the directing? ...Or if she's sleeping with that particular writer? Or a co-star? Or the director? Or each of them over the course of the whole project?
As for the NYU guys, she burns thru a lot of friends, but less so the ones she hasn't slept with. Gay guys in her circle don't have to deal with her turning all crazy psycho bitch on them.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/05/2013|
Maybe the NYU guys are directors or screenwriters or producers she HAS to stay friendly with, JUST IN CASE they can hire her...
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/05/2013|
Thank you for the details r32!
[Quote] That seems odd, given she's not particularly beautiful.
I agree with you r34. I wonder what her seduction secret is?
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/06/2013|
No, not good in bed in the...traditional sense. Unless you're into that sort of...thing.
The seduction is purely psychological. I mean, she's a bit of a predator, and really good at hooking into women who're already vulnerable to her sorts of false masks and manipulations-- especially the generous, high-empathy, provider types, and also the quiet self-haters, and the ones who think they can "rescue" Robin.
The sex is apparently, um, sort of...weird messy and gets into some, well, let's say, exploration of the darker psyche, physicalized. To each their own. Some girls need to replay some twisted stuff to get off, and some girls pee in bed, and who are we to judge?
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/06/2013|
wait wait wait r45!
so she's into sm?
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/06/2013|
Sara Hess was Faith Prince's assistant when she met Robin when Faith and Robin were in Noises Off in NY (one example where Robin was not very good.) They got together, moved into her studio and then when Robin got Deadwood, they moved to LA. Robin got Sara a job on Deadwood, as Sara was a failed writer at the time. Now Sara writes for House. So - when Rob dumped her for Liz Sarnoff- Sara did, in a sense, get a settlement.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/06/2013|
Also don't forget the poor stage manager at NYTW. Another corpse.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/06/2013|
Yeah, but Rob didn't "get" Sara Hess the freelance job on Deadwood-- you don't end up having a writing career like she does without serious chops. Rob's relationship with Sarnoff got Sara's sample work read, true, but Robin certainly didn't do the work FOR Sara or insist on a job for her. And Sara had been Robin's biggest supporter and advocate for a while...
Still probably not worth being led on, cheated on, lied to and dumped.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/06/2013|
I didn't know she was with Sara Hess too! Damn, this woman sounds horrible.

|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/07/2013|
OMG this thread is hilarious and awful! Robin Weigert is crazy, yes yes yes. A textbook destructive narcissist!
Somebody told me Robin preys on emotional masochists, but one of the women I know who had to really work to recover from Robin's insanity is super super sweet, totally genuine, and not a masochist. This girl doesn't gossip (unlike me, obviously!) and rarely says a bad word about anyone, but quietly referred to Robin as "one sick skull-fucker". --She'll shit on you and then turn around and blame you for making her do it. "Then come the crocodile tears."
Oh get THIS: Robin had framed a torn out blurb from Us magazine rumoring she and Clooney were dating after "The Good German", (even though he doesn't even talk to her). It's FRAMED on the WALL. Doesn't have a pic of her own mother in the apartment, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/10/2013|
She really does sound sick, and I feel sorry for all these woman used, chased by this psycho.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/10/2013|
People in the business have been complicit in keeping Robin sick. They used her for her talent but didn't care when her pain and problems became obvious. At one point Andre Gregory tried to help her and sent her to a therapist- but the woman was fixated on Robin's homosexuality and was too limited to see the real problems. Men like David Milch, Tony Kushner, Mike Nichols and Richard Nelson - all had opportunities to help her get into real treatment but did nothing. Over the years various women have tried to coalesce her cohort to some kind of intervention, but each "girlfriend" thought she was the exception and systematically lashed out at the ones coming into understanding about how bad it really was. Cindy was the worst enabler of all, and that's - in a way- the saddest case, because Robin always maintained ties with Cindy because she wanted jobs. And Cindy continued to cast her, even as recently as Rebecca Miller's last film. The women who wanted to blow it all open and get Robin into real treatment were treated like pariahs because Robin was having professional success- and that was all the show biz folks cared about. Efforts that could have helped her were stymied by the business and things that kept her sick dominated. This conversation is the best thing that could happen for her. The less hidden all this is, the more motive she has to be in real treatment. Also, there is no reason for her to have a photo of her mother in her house, her mother- whose father (Robin's beloved grandfather) was also a predator- allowed Robin to be in truly heinous positions as a child.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/11/2013|
family member, r56?
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/11/2013|
Thanks R56. Agreed that she's in the worst profession in the worst industry to help her -- acting enables her disabilities and unhealthy behavior to a grotesque extreme.
That said, she's got a long, long time therapist who is either grossly ineffectual, or just as likely, to whom she presents her best masks. If the only info the shrink gets is through Robin's completely upside-down perspective, what else does she have to work with? And Robin does not think she's sick, know she's sick, or go for help. The people around her can only do so much-- co-workers, friends and lovers can only safely tolerate extreme emotional chaos for so long before they must protect themselves (and often fight hard to recover) by keeping well enough away, either because they've had to cut their losses and leave, or, in the case of lovers, because Robin has suddenly thrown them out when they can't fill her un-fillable needs, and she's already got her eye on the next one (whom she will again demonize for falling short).
I could see an intervention being possible for a drug or alcohol addict, but for mental illness like this, it's impossible if you can't show a real physical danger to themselves or others. Like anything else, you cannot help those who don't think they have a problem.
I doubt she'll ever see this conversation, but if she did, she'd just think those posting are the ones with the illnesses. She sees everyone around herself at fault, never truly capable of understanding how her actions hurt others (and hurts herself).
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/12/2013|
Wait-- the beloved grandfather was a predator, too? Seriously? I just heard the mother wasn't any good at mothering and the psychologist father was brain damaged and not all there himself mentally.
But the grandfather?
Of course, it's really hard to know what stories are true IF they originated from Robin herself, because she really does rewrite history and see demons where there are none-- especially in people she envies, or who love her. The paranoia and the blaming and the projection are rife with her, and it's hard to tell if any of it is conscious or if the illness runs so deep she doesn't know she's lying.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/12/2013|
The father was profoundly mentally ill. It would be good for Robin to see this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/12/2013|
Plenty of good people, scores of good women, have tried to offer Robin support and/or help. I agree with the other poster who says she'd have to want to change-- but she doesn't. She doesn't want to do the work, and she's hugely biased against meds, and against mental illness in general (probably because of her father; fear of his illness being somehow genetic). The fact is, she does not care whom she hurts. She has no concept of other people's pain, not in a genuinely empathic way-- so much of her interactions are a sort of play acting (and often not very good). She does not get "consequences". I feel for her, for her pain and her being emotionally crippled by her disease/disorders, but I've seen her bald-faced lies and arrogance and dumping and self-righteous condemnation do severe damage to kind people who care enough to get close to Robin. It's not worth it-- SHE'S not worth it. Can't blame people in the biz for not fighting like hell to save the crazy bitch busy throwing the nice people out of the lifeboat when the ship is sinking. If that makes any sense...
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/16/2013|
Did she sleep with someone on Sons of Anarchy? That show seems like a Deadwood reunion sometimes, which is fun. They keep bringing back her lawyer character, tho.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/16/2013|
Forgot about the NYTW stage manager. There was a second professor, too-- some academic at NYU she was sucked in way back in the day and still strung along thru the years until pretty recently, I think. Not Schulman, someone else. And at least one hookup on that stinker of a horror movie she did, while she was still with Liz. Her gyno must be making boatloads of dough.
Felt bad for her and the horror flick (professionally)-- she can be a decent supporting/character actor, but not a lead. Her agent should've protected her, kept her from doing that. Oy.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/16/2013|
she ONLY got on SOA because one of the senior producers/writers is a friend she managed to not screw over, & robin needed a handout. Got one, & the friend keeps pitching storylines for the lawyer character whenever robin needs dough. i hear she behaves herself pretty much on that show, but only the dyke writer friend likes her. she met the writer on deadwood. dont kno if they ever did the nasty, but my guess is probably not, 'cause robin burns those bridges quick-- no mercy.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||05/16/2013|
Hey you guys, it IS really sad. Robin is talented. Sometimes I can't even believe she's the same actress from one role to the next. Don't be so mean...
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/16/2013|
Does the fact that she's talented mean its okay that she's left a trail of broken hearts along the way??
|by Anonymous||reply 66||05/16/2013|
r54 I think we know the same "girl." And yes, RW is a mess and I'm so glad our mutual friend got out.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/16/2013|
Broken hearts is an understatement-- that's not the problem. The woman is a predator. She's ill, and toxic. We're not talking about girls she leaves in tears (granted, only minutes after declaring her love) boo-hoo, we're talking about girls who have to hire therapists and go to support groups to help them recover from the exhausting, imploding life-altering insanity she's put them through.
That's not us being mean, that's trying to warn other women not to get taken by her charms, and end up totally messed up.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||05/16/2013|
NYU Prof is Anne Pellegrini who went for 3 or 4 rounds. Who is Kristen, the formerly married writer/producer?
|by Anonymous||reply 69||05/16/2013|
she seems too smart to fall for that kind of a charlatan....
|by Anonymous||reply 70||05/16/2013|
Ok, if we're not being mean here, can we stop naming all the victims, at least? Seems unfair to them to end up linked to Robin online-- getting run over by her wasn't their fault.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||05/16/2013|
r68 Surviving a relationship with a narcissistic personality is very difficult and there are lots of them in show business. RW is an extremee example.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||05/16/2013|
One thing that most of her victims have in common is that they are not very attractive. Mostly behind the scenes people. There's an element there for them of being able to show off that someone god looking wants them. And they are responsible for that.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||05/16/2013|
robin is not exactly gorgeous herself....
|by Anonymous||reply 74||05/16/2013|
I was an intern on a play she was in years ago and she was very nice.
She was brilliant in Noises Off with Patti LuPone.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||05/16/2013|
Her love life would make an EXCELLENT reality tv series....
|by Anonymous||reply 76||05/16/2013|
Not true. The one I know is beautiful-- much prettier than Robin, by far. And Erin B is attractive. And Robin ends up sleeping with a lot of on-camera talent, too.
It's not just a bunch of ugly crew dykes who sleep with Robin to show her off-- in fact, she goes after women who make HER feel good about herself either because she wants to BE them, or to have what they have (money, power, hot careers, respect). They're usually a means to an end. And the end usually includes demeaning them to feel better about herself.
Blame the abuser, not the abused.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||05/16/2013|
She sucked up to Patti (and also had the hots for her).
|by Anonymous||reply 78||05/16/2013|
I'm interested in how this never hurts her casting. How can she do so much damage to so so so many people and have casting directors want to work with her? There are millions of actresses out there.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||05/16/2013|
You're assuming it hasn't hurt her career, but it has. A lot of work comes via her few friends and casting people she still strings along. And she still seems to get the job done acting-wise, so there's little reason not to cast her-- it's not like acting jobs are based on personal merit-- ever. But sure, some people won't work with her, won't cast her.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||05/16/2013|
I did once hear the artistic director of the The Vineyard Theater say that she would "turn the audience against the character."
|by Anonymous||reply 81||05/16/2013|
That stands to reason-- her own character (or lack thereof, or fatal character flaws) turns other people against her.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||05/18/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 83||05/18/2013|
is it true she slept with practically all the women in that lesbian housewife-turned-hooker movie, that was at sundance? (all the gay ones, anyway?) anybody know?
|by Anonymous||reply 84||05/18/2013|
What's the name of thr movie??
|by Anonymous||reply 85||05/18/2013|
Reading and thinking about this thread has made me very sad and bitter. I tried so hard to help Robin. I reached out to her friends, ex-girlfriends and they were awful to me. They said and did hurtful things and refused to help her in any way. Here we are years later and it is all confirmed. The mental illness, the pain, the inability to get help on her own. I feel so angry and broken-hearted - folks, when someone comes to you about a friend in trouble- listen to them. You are not helping someone by pretending everything is fine and punishing the messenger. The revelation of this thread is literally making me ill.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||05/20/2013|
You just have to let some people go. Also - if someone is fucked up enough to be involved with someone like that, part of the deal is the codependents have to defend the sociopath, because the s-path has sold the story of how abused and misundetstood they ar - and how that person is the one who truly get them, etc. The poor simps don't know they've been had until they've been dumped.
I've known several sociopaths that are all eerily similar - all NY theater people - but RW seems the most extreme.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||05/20/2013|
R86, give yourself some support, for what you went thru
there's a place online called "abuse sanctuary", another called "out of the fog" that deals with those who've been victims of robin's type of personality disorder. another recovery site is called "love fraud"
those robin manages to keep around her must invest in her con, or face that they, too, have been conned. she's very convincing, & plays a great victim-- the best of her acting skills. sadly, robin would never appreciate your efforts to help her. she might be beyond help, even w/medication + residency treatment program & regular appts w/shrink with NPD/s-path specialty.
be good to yourself, and keep safely away from her
|by Anonymous||reply 88||05/21/2013|
Yeah I was in a few spin classes with her in WeHo and discovered Robin is inconsiderate of others, snobby, and (sorry to the ones who thought she was hot, but) really really unattractive. Grossed me out. That she's a sicko too isn't very surprising. She always expected special treatment somehow -- the rules that apply to all of us just don't apply to her.
Name of that lesbian movie asked about before is Concussion. --Which maybe she has. Or could really use.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||05/21/2013|
I have always respected Robin Weigert as an actress, but I have to agree with most of the comments posted here. She is thoroughly masochistic and cares little for others. I have heard a lot of different nightmare relationship stories about her. I had heard that when Robin was in her late thirties or something she dated a girl in her early twenties and subsequently really hurt this girl emotionally. I have no idea if it's true of false, I hoped someone on here could tell me.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||05/22/2013|
Don't have an answer for you, but emotional damage can happen at any age. Someone in their early 20's has fewer tools to deal with it, but even a woman in her 50's can be at risk when encountering a RW type. Anybody can get sucked in-- not just dumb chumps. And the more personal stuff you share with a RW, the "closer" and more "connected" you seem to get, the more danger you put yourself in, because they will not for a minute hesitate to use it against you-- in fact, it's guaranteed that they will; it's part of their psychopathy.

|by Anonymous||reply 93||05/25/2013|
I don't think you realize how many actresses and actors have had sex with casting directors. Certainly in the lesbian scene at least three of the most successful had lovers who were casting directors.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||05/26/2013|
She gets offers for roles legitimately- not only from women who she's fucked (Lost, Deadwood) or who want to fuck her (Concussion). But she wasn't fucking anyone on that series Life and her role got written off the show (cut down to a smaller part which, in Hollywood terms, means fired). Robin isn't the first and won't be the last to work in Hollywood that way.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||05/26/2013|
why start a new thread?

"I don't think you realize how many actresses and actors have had sex with casting directors. Certainly in the lesbian scene at least three of the most successful had lovers who were casting directors."
Name the three most successful?
|by Anonymous||reply 97||05/26/2013|
Robin is actually talented, so I'm not sure I believe the "fucking for jobs" tea in this thread.
More likely, she's one of those people who tends to fuck the people she's around (ie at work) and lacks the sense that says that's a bad idea.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||05/26/2013|
Could be r98 but the knives are out and there has to be a reason.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||05/26/2013|
I learned of the existence of this thread on the "How has Datalounge made an impact on your life?" thread. I'd noticed the name before and just skipped over it before. Having read all of this, just wow. She's clearly someone who won't respond to treatment. Her view of reality is so skewed that she would never believe herself to need treatment and she's incapable of being honest, so even daily therapy sessions would be for naught.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||05/26/2013|
There are many talented people. Most of them never get a chance. It's up to the casting director to decide who gets brought in - who gets the opportunity to audition. Maybe 1% of actors who would like to audition, get asked in. If the actor is the lover or crush or flirt or the lover of a friend of a casting director, they have incredible professional advantages.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||05/26/2013|
Robin is legitimately talented when well directed, but she also very deliberately goes after women she sees as powerful and who are able to serve her career directly, or provides what she sees as her higher status (trying to surround herself by those she sees as rich or powerful or connected). Then she maintains those relationships (if she can manage not to destroy them) for future work. Tons of people who worked with her won't do so again. Or have no contact with her after the project. And she pretty much always shits where she eats, sleeping with women on all projects that are more than one-time guest star roles-- (usually cheating on someone at home when doing it-- like it's Vegas rules on set). I don't think it's just because she loses touch with reality (a serious possibility); they seems highly calculated to serve her professional goals, even if the game she talks all love and flowers.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||05/26/2013|
Interesting. Why does she destroy those relationships she deliberately made for professional reasons? Is her cheating and willingness to sleep anyone on set the problem? What kind of sick and twisted things did she do to so many of her exs, colleauges?
|by Anonymous||reply 103||05/27/2013|
I read in a previous post that she's into weird sex stuff. Not to sound pervy, but would anyone care to elaborate?
|by Anonymous||reply 104||05/27/2013|
I hear you R99, but this whole thread seems fishy (rimshot for the boys!).
There's all these long, psychoanalyzing detailed posts about an actress barely anyone knows of. I'm picturing a single ex or ex co-worker with an axe to grind posting, rather than a bunch of people who have actual dirt on this chick.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||05/27/2013|
there does seem to be the stench of stalker in this thread....
|by Anonymous||reply 107||05/27/2013|
I actually think it's more than a single ex or ex co-worker posting.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||05/27/2013|
Posting info on Robin I mean.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||05/27/2013|
Robin sounds delightful.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||05/27/2013|
I had to look up who she was 'cause the thread kept popping up as active-- but I didn't know the name either. Non-celeb nobody actor.
But some draaaaammmaaaaa! Doesn't seem to be lacking for dirt! There's no way it's only one poster on here that knows her. I think i count at LEAST 3.
Good luck with y'all's intervention. Crazy people just love it when you set them down to break it to them that they're crazy. --Somebody gonna get a real concussion out of this.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||05/27/2013|
There are at least three people here who have been personally devastated in a way that only a very ruthless, disturbed person can hurt. And there are some others who have witnessed friends be hurt, or have seen her act out in some way. The range of information and the specificity of knowledge show this. But what is more important is that the naysayers replicate the kind of obstacles these posters have faced in the past : irrefutable evidence that something is very very wrong - met with insults, put-downs and dismissal. This cycle is exactly why Robin is still untreated today.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||05/28/2013|
its all these fools faults for sleeping with her then. and getting themselves manipulated. i like this crazy bitch.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||05/28/2013|
"Concussion" is great, features an amazing performance by Weigert (who is in nearly every scene of the film) and is being released by The Weinstein Company in the fall. If you don't know who she is now, you will.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||05/28/2013|
Above posted by Robin.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||05/28/2013|
Has anyone seen the movie she was in, Concussion?
|by Anonymous||reply 116||06/01/2013|
It's interesting to read that she has such a dramatic "love life" and lesbians are fascinated by her... because she's not hot at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||06/01/2013|
[quote] Creepy casting, creepy autobiographical fantasy pic. The lesbian director (Passon) blames her own wife for sexual abandonment (not movie wife, her actual wife), resents her kids, and then turns it into a big movie, where she casts a lesbian she has the hots for (crazy Robin Weigert) to play her alter ego, and then films Robin acting out Passon's personal fantasies of being a hooker for women, doing sex scenes with a bunch of other actresses she (Passon) finds hot... all right under her (Passon's) wife's nose with her wife's emotional and financial support! Why couldn't she just get a divorce and not make this a spectator sport? It's gross. --Not to mention the bad light this film puts gay marriage in. On top of that (pun intended), Weigert is notorious for sleeping with whoever she thinks has the power to cast her in roles (essentially prostituting herself, so not much of a stretch there) and then cheats on her gfs when she's used them up. Or stalks them if they leave her. Rumor has it she really committed to this part by sleeping her way through this project, too. Gooooo, Method acting! Saw it at Sundance, and agree with the reviewer in Berlin, saying that's it's an emotionally numb, ultimately shallow film. Which makes sense, seeing as it's a collaboration between two pretty cold, destructively crazy, ridiculously arrogant dykes. I'd add that it's overly self-important and completely bereft of genuine personal morality, which makes it hard to care. And that was before I found out about Passon and Weigert and their less than stellar representation of our tribe. Don't pay money to see this thing please.
Found this post about Concussion, ha!

So was Kim Dickens pursued by RW on the Deadwood set? Or was KD not someone in a powerful enough position?
|by Anonymous||reply 119||06/01/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 120||06/05/2013|
It wouldn't surprise me if she did sleep with Kim Dickens.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||08/31/2013|
Wow, never heard of her before and checked out her picture thinking she'd must be the best looking chick on earth and viola! --she's a real plain Jane. No great figure either.
Are the pickins so slim among lesbians that she would be considered hot?
|by Anonymous||reply 122||08/31/2013|
I guess she can be very controlling and persuasive. She hits on women all the time.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||08/31/2013|
Cindy Tolan is still casting her in movies. As someone once said "Robin is Cindy's job."

if what is being said about RW is true she is just like my ex wife I am androgen by the way my ex wife was bisexual participated in orgies and made porno with a mafia psychopath who sent a hitman to kill me and then tried to kill her she went back to him any way because she is literally suicidal, money ,power and blood are what turn her on sexually, she also made porno with her mob bf's 8 year old daughter a 52 year old women having sex with an 8 year old girl ....I guarantee you this RW girl is exactly the same ..she is also violent and will incite violence and mayhem against anyone she hates but is too cowardly to commit the violence so she will incite someone else to commit her violence for her, she is always the victim and so innocent and put upon.!! her life is such a tragedy !!! this is truly the mindset of a sicko, every thing she falsely accuses others of are the things she actually is guilty of...she will soon meet her Maker and it will be horrible He really does judge both men and women as He is no respecter of persons...the Dead Sea is where Sodom Gomorrah Admah Zeboim and Zoar used to be

R22, sometimes it isn't about beauty or hotness. Robin sounds exactly like my ex- borderline personality (I found out later from her family, who liked me) & not very good looking. But my god, when she turned on the charisma, it was like no kind else existed. Her intensity, brilliance & creativity sucked me in at first, & her vulnerability made me want to rescue her. She seriously fucked with my mind. It's been years but I'm cringing as I read the above posts because she put me through very similar things. Luckily, I was able to see the patterns in her behaviour & got out before I fell apart completely. Even more luckily I found a great therapist who helped me heal & a year later, a warm & loving woman I've been with for 16 years & counting...
|by Anonymous||reply 129||12/08/2013|
Wow r129! Sorry to hear about what you'd been through with your ex and you are SO lucky to have been with a nice woman since.
Why does it seem that many borderline personalities exist among lesbians and why many poor souls can't resist them?

You all are full-fledged lunatics! One person comes in with nonsense and you lot take it and run with it, posting idiotic dramatized ramblings of things you know nothing about and are just bent on crazy gossip because you have no lives and this is the only means of entertainment in your dull pathtic so-called lives.

Looks like Robin has discovered her thread.
Welcome! Please invite Sarah Paulson to join us in one of her enlightening threads.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||03/12/2014|
Jesus H Christ! I am sure we all have less than salubrious pasts when we look back to former lovers...if my ex's were to get together on datalounge, i am sure i would not come off too rosy....but this does not make me a sociopath. Cut the chick a break, people! Life is shitty enough without this type of shit-storm on your resume/reputation. Gossip is fine but this undermining of a woman's sanity...UBER UNCOOL
|by Anonymous||reply 135||04/20/2014|
R135, this is DL. What can you do?
I find the Spacey thread much more disturbing than the "She's a lunatic" threads. If you're a lesbian, you've dated at least one.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||04/20/2014|
[R136]true, and the sad fact is that we are all crazy sometimes :(
|by Anonymous||reply 137||04/20/2014|
Sarah Schulman is the only person on this thread writing all the bad stuff regarding Robin Weigert. Talk about things you all know - clearly no one knows about this stuff.
The only person crazy on this thread is Sarah Schulman.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||07/11/2014|
Sarah Schulman has never even heard of DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||07/12/2014|
I can't take this thread seriously because someone deranged and with a serious personal axe to grind is hellbent on trashing Weigert. So the whole thread is just moot to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||07/12/2014|
I know Robin, have done for a long time.All ill say is because actors actually have a "private" life. The press will always say they are a nightmare to work with etc....
This is NOT the case with Robin..I only say this now because i hate to see people i care about being trashed when there is really no hard facts except idle gossip !!
|by Anonymous||reply 141||08/24/2014|
Sarah Schulman is an asshole - always has been always will be. She is a sick fuck.
