Because they usually come from privilege (lacrosse tends to be a big sport in upper-class school districts) and if they're good at the sport, everyone, and I mean damn near *everyone* kisses their ass.

I spent most of my adolescence wishing that they still played lacrosse by the old Native American rules, where the captain of the losing team was executed and his skull was used as the ball for the next match.

I went to Andover -- so preppy it hurts but with an overlay of egalitarianism that made it bearable.

However -- the lax jox were the worst. They acted like they owned the hallways of the dorm. They walked around with their sticks in hand constantly, cradling the ball, passing it back and forth between each other. You had to call time-out before sticking your head out of your room for fear of getting beaned with the lax ball. They had names like Boomer and Toph and Brooks. So very inherently loathsome.

I used to watch lacrosse when they had uniforms with short shirts that let their waists show. The combination of padding and exposed skin is very sexy. After the NCAA clamped down on bare midriffs in football (ostensibly as part of the deal in which the NCAA sold advertising on the uniforms), lax followed suit. I once asked a gay lax coach about it and he said covering up made the athletes look more "professional." Shame.

Why is HGH banned? It's a hormone that allows players to come back quicker from injury - which tends to be the problem. It does not grow huge muscles but lets players recover faster. I'm all in favor of it and there has yet to be medical evidence against it's use in this manor. I personally feel that the players who use HGH are the SMART ones. Sensible people. My boss is a lacrosse player and coach, plus his sons play lacrosse. He's not an asshole at all, but he's certainly a Type A kind of guy. I have noticed that lacrosse players tend to walk around with an air of entitlement.

It's a sport priveleged white guys can play reasonably well and still dominate. Primarily because not many black guys play it yet. When the brothers move in, the attitude of these preppy white assholes is going to get knocked down a few notches. The game involves running fast, throwing, catching and hitting. Well, that is interesting. Not only do they all wind up pulling $500K/year on Wall Street but they are doing it as crooks stealing everyone else's money (as the 2008 financial collapse made painfully apparent). I think I can answer this question. I have been a lacrosse player for many years and since The beginning I have heard that people think lacrosse is gay or people hate the players (like you guys). Yes we can be indeed be huge assholes and we are probably dicks to everyone. However as a lacrosse player I have been led to the inclination that everyone already thinks of me as a sick hat because I play lacrosse which means my natural tendency is to be a dick to you before you can make fun of me. I try to defend myself so you don't try and harass me and so you know that I WILL fight back. I am sorry if I ever upset you but me and many of my friends that at lacrosse have a tolerant form of anger managements. Because of my condition I often find myself snapping at people but like I said before and stress enough, I am sorry.
