Meanwhile the only time I’ve ever seen protesters actually physically bussed anywhere was when a bunch of hicks couldn’t afford a tank of gas to go smear their feces around the US capitol

Trump is losing non-college white people. It is their lives that are most upended by an economic downturn, and their livelihood that is most undermined by the march of progress. Not to mention that he's made plain his contempt for poor people. I am terrified by what Microsoft Copilot can do. I am a white collar professional with a post graduate degree and 30 years professional experience. In 5 years, Copilot will be able to do MY job. Pew demographic data from 2024 election
Black men and women alike were more likely to vote for Trump in 2024 than in 2020. One-in-ten Black women and 21% of Black men voted for Trump in the most recent election.
Nearly half of Hispanic voters backed Trump. His support among Hispanic voters was 12 points higher than in 2020 (48% in 2024, 36% in 2020). And the share voting for the Democratic candidate fell from 61% to 51%. In 2024, Hispanic women and Hispanic men were divided in their preferences for president. In 2020, Hispanic women were more likely than Hispanic men to vote for the Democratic candidate.
Again, these changes were primarily driven by changing turnout patterns: 9% of eligible Hispanic voters voted in 2020 but not in 2024, and these voters favored Biden in 2020 by roughly two-to-one (69% to 31%). By contrast, among Hispanic eligible voters who voted in 2024 but not in 2020, 60% voted for Trump in 2024 and 37% voted for Harris.
Asian voters favored Harris in 2024, with 57% voting for her. Four-in-ten Asian voters (40%) cast ballots for Trump, up from 30% in 2020.
Asian men and women favored Harris by nearly identical margins (16 and 17 points, respectively).

It’s all in the percentages. College educated white voters were mostly Repubs when Obama ran. But the college educated now hate Trump. Sure, I'd love to see more people of color at the protests -but I totally understand why they wouldn't feel safe. Hell, I know a few white people who didn't attend because they were worried about ICE and police brutality. The group with no excuse is young people. Young people were a part of the successful civil rights movements of the 60s and 70s. Young people were a part of the LGBTQ movement and claiming the right to marry. I'm old, and likely won't live to see the end of the MAGA movement -but these young people will still be here, desperately trying to pick of the pieces and clean up after it. It's their future -they really need to stand up and take action.
I promise not to yell at them to get out of my yard.

Being a Democrat is not as tribal among minorities as it is with whites.
I personally think it’s cause whites lack ethnic / heritage culture. Like what the hell is the culture of a white American if you’re not a redneck?
So that’s why political identity is so important to a lot of white Americans cause it’s their “scene” and part of their identity.
White people don’t get it’s typically only them who think that way. They don’t realize most minorities look at Democrats and Republicans as just two groups of white people.

[quote]Speaker of the House Mike Johnson defended labeling this weekend's "No Kings" rallies opposing President Donald Trump as "hate America" rallies, arguing that he was not referring to Democrats themselves but the message of the protesters.
[quote]"Just on this notion that these are, 'hate America' rallies -- and you not only talked about anarchists, antifa advocates, pro-Hamas wing -- you said this is the modern Democratic Party," ABC News' "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl asked, referring to comments Johnson made last week. It is a moronic "observation" to assert that "Dems abandoned younger white men". Only halfwits think like this, but here we are.
Did white men not have better outcomes for student loans, health insurance, the job market, agricultural jobs, living in a non-fascist country, and keeping their knocked up girlfriend's right and ability to get an abortion rather than putting him on the hook for eighteen years of child support payments? Why, Dems even made it easier for young white men to decide they're suddenly female and swim on the girl's swimming team, for Christ's sake!
Yes. Yes to ALL of the above. Democrats haven't abandoned anyone!

I understand 2024 was a disappointment and hold out hope that the next elections, if we have fair ones, will bring a swing back from the Republicans given what a disaster and embarrassment this Trump regime is, especially the blatant racism and economic shit show. Plus, if we have a stronger more appealing candidate. Hope that’s not wishful thinking and the GOP voter suppression and cheating isn’t overwhelming.

First, I think those statistics are unreliable. Pollsters have never been effective at polling 'Blacks.' Second, the overwhelming majority of Black voters cast a vote for Harris. I think a larger percentage of Black voters neglected to vote in 2024.
Lastly, I think most of those numerically insignificant Black Dump voters have learned their lesson. Trump has such profound disregard for Black people that it could hardly be referred to as hatred. Black people will never forget that AI video that Dump circulated of Obama being arrested in the White House. We have looong memories.

The whole Christian white nationalist, neo-nazi, white supremacist agenda is gaining steam because lazy, underachieving young white men would prefer to believe that they are aimless, unhappy and unfulfilled because they are owed 'white' entitlements that are being given to colored people and foreigners.

People are debating how the votes went a year ago like the world hasn't changed completely in that time. People last election weren't necessarily voting for trump but against Biden in what they felt was failed economic and immigration policies. People wanted lower prices and Trump sold that hard. Now none of that has happened and only gotten worse. Yes they voted for this. But the world of pre November 2024 might as well be the world of pre September 2001.

This may get me cancelled, but Democrats need to stop relying on white women, especially the non-college-educated ones, because almost always they take on the politics of their husbands. Second, while most black men voted for Kamala, Democrats don't take into account that black and Hispanic men are still men, and like white men, aren't quick to vote for a woman for the most powerful job in the world. Some black men have never warmed up to Kamala.
Finally, what's not being said out loud, we're not losing young white men because of policy. We're losing them because young white women aren't fucking them. The problem with young white men is that we have a lot of 3s and 4s thinking they should be fucking 9s and 10s and are getting madder and madder and madder.

Wrong. There was no 'vast majority' that stayed home, any reduction in Black male participation relative to prior years was negligible. All the arguments fail when you focus on Black male support of Trump, or suggest that Black men resisted a female candidate. 80% of Black males voted for Kamala Harris. You will not find men of any other racial, ethnic, cultural or religious group that have gone 4 to 1 for a female Presidential candidate.

It is SO misleading to say that 80% of Black males voted for Kamala Harris. Are you trying to say 80% of ALL Black males? That’s how it reads. But I doubt it’s correct. It might be 80% of Black male registered voters. It’s more likely 80% of Black males who ACTUALLY showed up and voted. Which is of course some fraction of the entire population of Black males of voting age.
Turnout among older Black women trends fairly high (relative to other demographics). But turnout in the larger Black community is less than impressive.

That article at r134 is bullshit. Men don't want competence in their leadership and they don't want to invest the time or effort necessary for achievement or proficiency in their own lives. The movement that is seducing young men is all about exalting the mere condition of maleness in its weakest, angriest most inept form. Young men want to drop out of school and have no expectations placed upon them. They want all of their mean, destructive impulses validated. Trump does this, he engenders false pride in young (white) men and his rise shows that you can be a barely-literate, ADHD-afflicted, drug using underachieving evil corrupt motherfucker and escape the consequences of your misdeeds.

Blacks came out for Hillary, Biden, and Kamala. The thanks for it was being blamed for CRT, which isn't taught outside of high-level college courses and DEI, because a few black women got high-powered positions to open opportunities for everyone who wasn't a straight, white man, and white people had to go to a few classes at the office related to implicit bias and increasing diversity.
Asians and Indians voted correctly, and they get blamed because their kids are taking spots at the good schools, while white kids are playing video games and making TikToks instead of studying. And white people can't blame them for getting handouts and set-asides, because they all have the grades and scores to back up their admissions, unlike little Madison and Jackson.
Most Hispanics voted correctly (even though the Cubans are a lost cause) and they're being blamed for taking jobs that no American wants and being so hot that every other group wants to fuck them.
For all of you who don't say anything to keep the peace in your families even though they're voting against you. Who turn a blind eye to the racist uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, the mom who sends racist memes and fake news via Facebook. You guys fix the Trump problem.

I find it fascinating how everyone, even smart people, has bought into this idea that Trump won in some landslide and that black and Hispanic men voted for him in droves. He did better with both groups, but let's not call it something to worry about just yet. Trump won because 8 million Biden voters stayed at home. This isn't Reagan in 1980.

Respected political analyst Ron Brownstein said on CNN earlier today that the high turnout of white protesters from the suburbs could bode well for the Democrats in upcoming elections.
As Brownstein pointed out, one of the factors that hurt Kamala in 2024 was the lower than expected turnout by white suburban college-educated voters compared to what Biden received in 2020.
It could mean that enthusiasm among this demographic will more closely resemble the results Dems got in 2018 & 2020 rather than the depressed turnout of 2024.

R170 I appreciate that woman’s video but I have a problem with it. It’s just not accurate. It has always been liberal white folks who dominant these spaces when it comes to protest in recent decades. Unless it some black person shot down by the cops, you don’t really see black people at stuff like this. Remember occupy Wall Street. It was the same with the war in Iraq protest. Ever since more social equity has been attained, more general protests against fascism or absolutism(Dubya’s war on terror)—- white liberals are the majority of the audience. I understand No kings was on a weekend, but generally it’s people with disposable income or time(retirees, self employed, college kids) who can break their schedule to attend or make alter their schedule around the protest. And whenever black female says “a black lady” ie Kamla tried to warn us we have to deal with the fact the 25% of black people voted for Trump.
