Albania was at one time part of the Eastern Bloc, which was considered coterminous with Eastern Europe in the post-WWII era.

This is the most attention Albania has gotten in decades! They should just be happy that anybody ever thinks about them at all.

R13 one perfectly acceptable definition of Eastern Europe is “behind the Iron Curtain” — former Soviet satellite states or republics of the USSR. This would include Albania.

Of course there are other possibilities… it’s a moving target as definitions go.

R18, I’m interpreting Eastern European very broadly as Slavic-speaking countries plus Hungary, Albania, and Romania/Moldova for their geographical proximity. Maybe the Baltics as well: Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

I know a very beautiful Albanian woman - blond, blue eyes. I'm linking a picture to an Albanian man whom I think meets all the requirements of handsome, even on DL. Albania is one of the closest countries to Italy, and a ferry ride across the Adriatic only takes about 3-4 hours.

The Balkans are a complex area. The first people there were probably Greeks and fair complected people to the north of them. Then the Romans came in. And sometime, maybe around 600 AD or a little later, the southern Slavs arrived. The Turks invaded in 1400 or so and ruled over the Balkan peoples for about 500 years. Many of the Balkan peoples stayed Orthodox or Catholic, but most of Albania converted to Islam. All invaders intermingled, with the Slavic and perhaps the native peoples having the strongest lasting genetic influence. So, no matter their language or religion, many of the people are medium to tall, with thick hair and distinctive noses and eyebrows. Generally attractive when young. Nikola Tesla would be somewhat typical of their look as would be Novak Djokovic.

I gotta tell ya my mom went on a trip to Europe by herself and fell asleep on a train that ended up in Zagreb. This was 1980. She had no trouble turning around and said the train was filled with Slovak soldiers who were the handsomest men she had ever seen.
