Tasteful friends: A $45 million Aspen mansion that is the EPITOME OF MEH.

The house? FABULOUS. The interiors? FUCKING HIDEOUS. If anyone can explain what the ACTUAL FUCK is going on with that living room, that'd be a great start: it looks like my grandma's furniture from her UES co-op, but transplanted into an abject FARCE of a setting. You can't put that shit in a room with 40-foot ceilings!!

But pic #16 is the real tell. That is NOT a fucking $45 million kitchen. It's not even a Nancy Meyers movie-level kitchen! How utterly basic-bitch can you GET?

Finally, pic #26. A boring-ass den with the unthinkable (for any decent stager): a visible dangling power cord!! EW!!!

P.S. I also expect a decent amount of room for $45 mil. Pic #29 is a bedroom smaller than my servant's quarters!

I haven’t even clicked the link and I love you, OP! Datalounge Asshole of the month! Love you!

Truly, the wealthiest people have WAY too much money to spend. The sum total of that seems like $10M to me, not $43M.

by Anonymousreply 2October 17, 2025 12:46 AM

Meh is right.

by Anonymousreply 3October 17, 2025 12:58 AM

The bathrooms are underwhelming. For that price I'd expect nicer counter tops and sinks.

by Anonymousreply 4October 17, 2025 1:11 AM

Meh indeed, but I'm not sure why you keep rounding up 2 million, OP.

[quote] You can't put that shit in a room with 40-foot ceilings!!

Sure, but what CAN you put in a room with 40-foot ceilings?

$45 million and you can practically see into the neighbors' houses. FUCK THAT.

by Anonymousreply 6October 17, 2025 1:21 AM

And to think I had such high expectations looking at the exterior. What a letdown.

by Anonymousreply 7October 17, 2025 1:22 AM

Not a single wall oven in the kitchen!

by Anonymousreply 8October 17, 2025 1:27 AM

The bathrooms are not s9 etching I’d want to experience early in the morning.

by Anonymousreply 9October 17, 2025 2:20 AM

Not something I’d want to experience early in the morning.

Some tasteless straight person decorated and crazy enough it could be a man or a woman! Straight women aren’t all that in decor.

by Anonymousreply 11October 17, 2025 2:25 AM

I think it’s lovely. My only complaint is that the lot is much too small for a house that size. It needs to be on a 2 acre lot or larger.

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2025 2:25 AM

The house looks like a McMansion to me on the exterior. And isnt much different on the inside. It does at least have some colours, even if they arent very nice.

The location is stunning, but yes, its the epitome of meh otherwise. A big lump of meh plopped down in a gorgeous location. What a waste

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2025 6:05 AM

Part A-frame part silo part castle part pine lodge.

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2025 6:44 AM

I could live with it (obviously making some cosmetic changes) if the asking price was reasonable. $45 million is outrageous.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2025 6:59 AM

Oddly designed. That weird banquette dining area was clunky and ugly. It's all very middle class suburban...not really any attempt made for it to be a luxury property.

And, that stager needs to be taken out and shot at dawn. That's NOT how you stage a multi-million dollar home.

I'm assuming that the house itself is really a $2m house at best. The other $43m is for the location.

Still, it's ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 16October 17, 2025 9:17 AM

This house is pretty standard for an Aspen "renovation". The 1989 still shows no matter how much money you sink into it.

by Anonymousreply 17October 17, 2025 10:20 AM

I don't understand banquette seating like that. The poor people trapped inside inconvenience everyone else if they need to get up. Is the object to have them drop and crawl under the table?

by Anonymousreply 18October 17, 2025 2:21 PM

I read the headline as the epitome of METH and kept waiting for the needles and the hookers
