Has anyone read this book about the murder of director William Desmond Taylor?

Jesus, I thought modern day Hollywood was fucked up. These silent film stars could give any celebrity today a run for their money. Pre-code Hollywood was a circus.

Beyond all the depraved facts of the case, they rarely mention that William Desmond Taylor was a complete fiction himself.

He was a married professional in NYC who one day dropped his real name William Cunningham Deane-Tanner, ditched his wife and child, hopped on the train to Los Angeles as the reinvented himself as William Desmond Taylor, film actor and director.
