Interesting name for a restaurant accused of racial discrimination.
Great White Venice staffed by pretentious enbys and I got food poisoning for my trouble.
Gran Blanco was pretty good but insufferable wait staff.

[quote]Great White Restaurant is new MAGA fave
The owners are Australian and the restaurant in question is in West Hollywood. I don't think there are any MAGA people eating there.

R3, they will now.

R4, yeah, MAGAts in West Hollywood. That'll be entertaining.

This never happened.

This reminds me of the last scene in the 1956 film Giant, where Rock Hudson gets into an argument and then into a fight with the owner of the place because he refused to serve a family of Mexicans. Here we are almost 70 years later, and the racists are still in force.

I just saw a lot of Asian customers and them being sat on the patio. The rest of the restaurant looked a bit empty?
Did they ask to sit outside?
I don't know about this.

R8 did you read any articles? Maybe READ….
No they didn’t ask to sit outside.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one.
On the one hand, I absolutely believe this happens at some restaurants.
On the other hand, this *particular* case seems like it's really being pushed by one guy (a comedian) and a few bad reviews where the patrons didn't get the seat they wanted and immediately blamed racism.
Hard to know who to believe - some former staffers are saying it happened while some others (who are black or Asian) are saying it didn't.
But yes, this shit happens a lot. I am not black or Asian but I used to live near Chicago's "Restaurant Row" and as someone who was clearly over 30/35, my partner and I or friends and I were often seated in the most unappealing parts of the restaurant - the corners near speakers blaring music, or outside of the piss-stinking mens room, etc. The front of house seats and outdoor seats were always filled with the most photogenic, young and WHITE faces, no matter whether they had a reservation or not. Those restaurants want young, white faces OR, if you are an older person, you'd better look like you just stepped off the cover of the Financial Times.

Almost all of them are saying it happened.

I see a lot of klan grannies defending bad behavior.

And as we know, Australians just LOVE Asians.

The Asian woman proves it, live filming in the restaurant. But naybe it isn't really racism racism if it's against affluent glamorous Ivy-educated Asian Americans, right?

This is an interesting case because these Asian Americans have money, dress well and are good customers. None of the reasons businesses have historically used for denying service to minorities. Yes, it's flat out racism.
