Republicans have been done with democracy since the demographics of the country shifted and straight white Christian conservatives were no longer predominant. They’ve kept it quiet until now, but Trump’s election brought them out in the open. They’re not even hiding it anymore.
Anybody who couldn't see through Republicans decades long relationships with fake patriotism and even faker Christianity is not a good judge of character.
