Datalounge do you use a fitness watch or tracker when you workout? If so what brand do you prefer ?

I am looking for something that will accurately track both steps and weight training . Also , something that can compute your BMI , track sleep and heart rate . Independent cellular network, and have a fall detector .

I like the Apple Watch bc it tracks my sleep and I can wear it doing laps at the pool, where it delivers info about distance, number of laps, and even which strokes I’d used. Plus, it’s easily synced to my phone.

No experience with any of the others.

Apple Watch is amazing. I think the new model will even track your blood pressure. I used to roll my eyes at people keeping track of their steps, but it really helps and keeps you moving. It will even tell you to stand up every hour.

Fitbit. The Apple Watch needs to be charged too often - often at night. And as I am most concerned with sleep tracking, Fitbit works well. I also don’t need all the other stuff the Apple Watch does.

I use a Fitbit for my workouts and for tracking sleep. The rest of the day, I wear a Galaxy watch, which does the same things. But I wouldn't wear my Galaxy watch to the gym -- it's too big and heavy to wear during treadmill runs (you can feel the weight on your wrist), and I'm hesitant to get an expensive device covered in sweat and whatever else is floating around the gym.

Fitbit was the standard for a while, but it's fallen off with increased competition. Google's purchase of the company a few years ago has also ruined a lot of the features and the overall quality of the devices themselves. My first Fitbit was a Charge 2 that lasted me seven or eight years before it died. I'm on my second Charge 5 after the first one glitched and stopped working; and the Fitbit I'm using now is already starting to break down after only a year or so of having it.

Once it fails, I'm not sure what I'll do next. Switching to a Garmin is a possibility; there are also a lot of cheap Chinese knock offs on Amazon that are surprisingly well-reviewed.

I'm a happy Garmin owner for over a decade, currently using a Vivoactive 6.

Week-long battery life is really nice, as is the fitness-tracking focus of every Garmin watch. Their fall-detection feature is called "incident detection"; it's optimized to notify your contact list if something happens during a tracked workout, but it can work in other ways.

No current Garmin models have built-in cellular, though it's still possible to find the Forerunner 945 LTE running watch. But if you'll generally have your phone nearby that's less of an issue. The Garmin model which is most like Apple Watch is called Venu X1, but there are other models available which also have a built-in mic and speaker for Bluetooth calls.

I've linked below to a website with the most detailed reviews I've seen for fitness watches and trackers.

Pixel 3. I will upgrade to the Pixel 4 soon. I wouldn't use an Apple product if you paid me.

Aura ring? Do you use that to measure your Kirlian levels?

Oura ring, it's what I use for fitness tracking.
