Andrew Cuomo refuses to condemn the Letitia James indictment, tries to both-side Trump and James
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 12, 2025 8:40 PM |
Why even bother running at this point. Mamdani will kill him with this shit alone at every debate.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 11, 2025 11:54 PM |
Well if you can’t buy the mayorship of America’s biggest city, mines well be a right wing cuck.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 11, 2025 11:55 PM |
AC is just horrible.
Trump will probably appoint him to something later.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 12, 2025 12:31 AM |
Oh he's fucking dead to me now. I was one of the few (here) who thought the accusations against him were a pile-on. He's DONE.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 12, 2025 12:36 AM |
I still think some of the charges against him were just nonsense and bullshit. However, there is ZERO reason to vote for him for Mayor. He makes that obvious with every statement. He simply can't be bothered to give a shit and has obviously settled for this weird hope that if he sucks up to Trump and Trump's donors enough, he'll magically get carried over the finish line. And if he did for some godawful reason win, he'd spend the whole time not giving a shit about anything other than handing out favors to rich cronies and generally dicking around not solving anything and barely caring enough to try.
In other words, yeah, he belongs in the Trump cult and the Trump cabinet. Useless and lazy and ridiculous in the Trumpista way.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 12, 2025 12:52 AM |
I loved him until I had the displeasure of dealing with him. He’s a pig and there’s more skeletons in his closet then have been made public.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 12, 2025 12:57 AM |
He let little old ladies die in nursing homes!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 12, 2025 12:59 AM |
That’s ridiculous R7. That wasn’t his fault
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 12, 2025 1:00 AM |
Did his office try to hide the nursing home death statistics so he would get blamed, r8? That's pretty bad, even if he didn't personally hold a pillow over their faces.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 12, 2025 1:07 AM |
Trump’s pursuit of his enemies is chilling. That said James is no angel either. She clearly went after Trump for political reasons. I thought the first Trump impeachment and most (not all) the lawsuits directed at him were mistakes. Not the lawsuits dealing with his sexual violence but many of the financial ones would never have been pursued if his name wasn’t Trump. I also I also think Biden should have pardoned him in the early days of his Presidency. It might have defanged him a little Instead we have our revenge monster President
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 12, 2025 2:26 AM |
They may have been a political mistake, but the thing with Trump is he is ALWAYS guilty. Always doing ridiculous, fucked up, illegal shit, always. He is a lifelong criminal and should be in jail, should have been in jail a long time ago. Nobody ever needs to invent some stupid charge to go after Trump. He's always totally 100% guilty of all the shit he's charged with, whenever it gets to the point of an actual charge or an actual indictment. That's the difference. All the people he and his various spokeswhores in the "Justice" department go after will be brought up on bullshit, nonsense, never or rarely used charges, purely because they tried to hold him accountable at some point in his life. That too is the difference.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 12, 2025 2:39 AM |
He did R8 and he threatened to destroy anyone who didn’t go along with his coverup. That’s the Cuomo I know and hate. (But from a different coverup)

Cuomo has been dead to me ever since he and Trump connected to attempt to defeat the Mamdani.
Mamdani, Cuomo, Sliwa. Every single candidate running is awful.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 12, 2025 11:26 AM |
People act like these candidates are sent from another planet and that is all we have to choose from. You are telling me out of a city of 10 million people, NYC can’t do better? No body wants to serve anymore?

A disgusting has been. What corrupted this guy?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 12, 2025 11:40 AM |

I own a co-op in Manhattan and I once hoped to spend more time there in retirement, so I seriously don’t want the quality of life in the City to degrade further. “Ghouliani” was awful, but the City felt more orderly and prosperous under his leadership. Bloomberg did just as well but without Giuliani’s quietly menacing power players working in the background.
I just really want decent public transit, some public safety , and maybe fewer Cannabis Dispensaries and Vape Shops per block. I miss the 24/7 delicatessens that turned into TD banks and Starbucks, then Cellphone Stores and other useless retail spaces. Next stop: Nail Salons, pawn shops, bail bonds…check-cashing. Feels grim.

[quote] Tech professionals, doctors, university professors, students and retired teachers made up the bulk of the foreign contributions, with some pledging as little as $1 to the campaign of the Democratic socialist, and as much as $2,100, records showed.
Yes, let us all sob together that techies and teachers are throwing a few pennies at Mamdani. In a world where Arab princes and Russian oligarchs routinely buy presidents and Senators, it is that $1 contribution from a foreign teacher that is going to upend our precious and pristine elections, no doubt.
And of course, Mamdani is perfectly willing to return these terrifying contributions once a simple review is done. In other words, do fuck off New York Post and any whore or grifter in the Trump Cult pretending to give a shit about this.

Fuck both those Cuomo brothers. Fucking nepo cry babies.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 12, 2025 4:36 PM |
R20, you're rationalizing an illegal act because he's your guy? It's against the law but to me the most troubling part of all this is his team's lack of oversight. If they're this amateurish about screening donations, how will he be able to assemble a competent team to run NYC? Because when it comes down to it the buck stops with him. And "him" doesn't seem to possess the skills necessary to pull this off. Platitudes only get you so far.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 12, 2025 5:36 PM |
It is barely a clerical error at best r22. Please don't pretend to give a shit other than the fact that he's not your guy, your guy is failing and flailing, and you and the rest of the Trump Cult are desperate to find some fake issue to stop him. And no, nobody who voted for Trump or supports him or his new best buddy Cuomo gives a flying fuck about "illegal acts" especially political corruption. Nobody believes you or them.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 12, 2025 5:42 PM |
If we are going to discuss foreign donations to mayoral candidates via NY Post articles I’ll just leave this here R22.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 12, 2025 5:47 PM |
$13,000! Fetch my smelling salts! You disingenuous idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 12, 2025 5:59 PM |
R23, LOL go read some of my comments to see how much of a Trumper I am. As for this race, none of them are my guy. I'm in NJ so I have no dog in this race. I do, however, have the ability to listen to candidates and judge for myself. If NYC wants to fall even farther into the abyss by all means vote for this non-entity who has nothing to offer except the reintroduction of failed policies.
R24, you're rather defensive. Why must you cunter, excuse me, counter with another illegal act? It just proves you have no legitimate defense just like R23. "He did it so why can't I?" Debate Club much? Yeah, didn't think so.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 12, 2025 6:01 PM |
I can’t vote in the NYC election either (although I do work in the city)
I think it’s bizarre to find Mamdani’s foreign donations disqualifying while entirely failing to mention Cuomo’s foreign donations.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 12, 2025 6:09 PM |
Cuomo doesn't dare risk pissing off Trump, so he's trying to "both sides" this with not one, but two awkward statements.
Ask Adams what the voters think of a potential mayor who feels personally indebted to Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 12, 2025 6:18 PM |
I’m with r26. Giuliani or bust!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 12, 2025 6:26 PM |
R27, my issue is the commenters who are defending him by saying the other guy is just as bad. And to reiterate, if his lack of transparency is due to his or his staff's incompetence, it's not going to get better if he becomes mayor.
You know as well as I do when a new untested candidate gets elected, the constituents are a bit nervous because he/she is going to be taking on a huge responsibility so to have an experienced road-tested team in place puts their minds at ease. I just don't see it here. He seems to have opted for image and yes, platitudes over substance. Let's not even get into the flip-flopping with the Defund the Police fiasco and his constant vague evasions when it comes to Israel and Palestine.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 12, 2025 6:29 PM |
Cuomo isn’t just as bad, he’s worse.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 12, 2025 6:35 PM |
Your premise fails on it's face, R26. According to the post, .03% of donations came from outside the US.
Even at the minuscule amount, there's still no evidence that these donations are illegal. US citizens can donate irrespective of where they are domiciled. Democrats Abroad are, for example, very active all of the world.
Not to mention that virtually all small donations came through online, which means they wouldn't be vetted until after, as the article notes.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 12, 2025 6:38 PM |
R10 Biden should have never ran for reelection. It’s the sin I will never forgive. Trump was unpopular as fuck but more respected and seen as authentic. Biden/harris were more unpopular. We should have had a primary and then a sharp candidate would have defeated this orange demon.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 12, 2025 6:39 PM |
My decimal is wrong. 0.3 it should be
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 12, 2025 6:39 PM |
R32, no, my "premise" does not "fails (did you mean falls) on ITS face". Bottom fucking line here is the Post printed this story and Mamdani and company got caught short. If they had actual stats and screening in place they would have easily refuted the accusations. The NYC Campaign Finance Board reviewed these donations so why wasn't his staff prepared and ready when the news hit?
The accountants should know where every single penny (do we still have pennies or did Trump outlaw them yet) comes from and from whom. What is so fucking hard for you people to understand??? 0.3%?? Bankers and brokers are doing hard time for stealing such miniscule percentages from the workplace. Anyway, my point ONCE AGAIN is the underlying issue of his team's incompetence than any specific amount that is being disputed.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 12, 2025 7:22 PM |
2014, 2018, 2024 when does poor judgement become a pattern of corruption?

[quote]You are telling me out of a city of 10 million people, NYC can’t do better? No body wants to serve anymore?
NO! About seven or eight OTHER candidates did run, and I selected three of them who were NOT Mamdani, Cuomo, or Adams, but many other people did. They are who the actual voters selected.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 12, 2025 7:42 PM |
[quote] The accountants should know where every single penny (do we still have pennies or did Trump outlaw them yet) comes from and from whom.
I'm going to take a hugely wild guess that absolutely NO campaign has that kind of exactitude and that kind of interest. Nope, not buying it for a second. The idea that every campaign is laser focused on disputing its contributions is not remotely credible or remotely realistic.
In fact, it is the big donations that come from highly interested and well connected parties that will have very exact and either unethical or illegal requests to make in future that are the real problem for those who have an honest opposition to actual political corruption. When a campaign is intensely focused on donations, you know you're dealing with the kind of shit that you don't want in any mayor or any other elected official.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 12, 2025 7:49 PM |
No, R39 and beginning your comment with "I'm going to take a hugely wild guess" is not a strong base from which to rise.
FFS, R36, R37 you're still playing the I know you are but what am I game. I told you it comes down to competence and the ability to lead on day one. This head of hair and his staff of fluffers are the new Not Ready for Primetime Players. This has been the underlying (or blatant) theme of my comments. The guy is not ready, his policies are proven losers, and his staff couldn't handle a New York Post reporter. That's all I have to say on this matter. Have a lovely evening.

[quote] Anyway, my point ONCE AGAIN is the underlying issue of his team's incompetence than any specific amount that is being disputed.
No one can prove incompetence or anything else for that matter, because there's zero evidence these are illegal donations. That's the point, ONCE AGAIN.
This is just yet another Post hit piece, as evidenced by the fact they didn't examine the records of any other candidates.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 12, 2025 7:55 PM |
[quote] I told you it comes down to competence and the ability to lead on day one.
Corporate speak which always equals complete horseshit. No, this is not some sign of future problems. This is complete nonsense that only an HR type or a PR spokeswhore would believe. All that fuckery, all that nonsense, about "leading on day one" is completely idiotic and means absolutely nothing outside of moronic campaign ads. All it means is that out of 54,000 private donations, some 88 are still disputed as possibly coming from non-citizens, and possibly coming from citizens living in foreign countries. That's it, that's all of it.
There is no need for trauma about it all, there is only the likely victory of the only candidate in the race who seems to give a shit about anybody who isn't rich or well connected. And the people who are absolutely convinced that that must never, ever happen.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 12, 2025 8:03 PM |
Here we go again. R41, yes, I know this was a Sliwa hit. We obviously all have different ideas of what is and is not considered competent and professional.
"...an examination of NYC Campaign Finance Board records found."
"But so far, the campaign has failed to return 88 of the foreign donations worth a total of $7,190, records showed."
“...we will of course return any donations that are not in compliance with CFB law” after being provided a detailed breakdown of the 88 donations yet to be returned. CAUGHT SHORT.
"A campaign spokesperson, however, declined to clarify why so many foreign donations are still in Mamdani’s war chest."
R42, "...who isn't rich or well connected." Are you for real? Do a little research on your boy before you wax poetic about his station in life.
So yes, if you need to vent about my comments please go yell at the walls, yell at the sky, yell at your car (NYers can yell at the subway. I do hope you can find a seat as Mamdani wants to use subway retail space to house the homeless, excuse me, the unhoused, no excuse me again, the carless) because I'm done. Have a lovely evening. It's been fun.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 12, 2025 8:22 PM |

R46, it was a riff on Trump's THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!! Yeah, I don't think you're up to play. Maybe you can secure a position on Mamdani's team. You seem to fit their level of standards.
How's this as a sign off: I'm off to have a lovely dinner. Then I am going to venture out to the back deck to make sure my outside furniture is secured so it does not blow away in the nor'easter that is a comin' mah way. Too long??
