I think Bill Clinton had a good crew.
What president in your lifetime had the best administration?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 12, 2025 3:59 PM |
Bill Clinton for me as well. My first presidential election I could vote in was in '96 and he got my vote.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 10, 2025 2:51 AM |
Clinton
Obama
Kennedy
Johnson
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 10, 2025 2:54 AM |
And yet what accomplishments can Clinton point to? DADT? DOMA? NAFTA?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 10, 2025 2:56 AM |
In my lifetime?
I was too young to remember, but it has to be Kennedy.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 10, 2025 3:00 AM |
Clinton and Obama.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 10, 2025 3:06 AM |
Johnson
Obama
Clinton (waaaay behind the 1st 2)
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 10, 2025 3:10 AM |
I’d say Obama. Bill lost me after the lies and NAFTA. NAFTA was really fucked up for a Democrat. I don’t know how that happened.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 10, 2025 3:10 AM |
Johnson.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 10, 2025 3:16 AM |
The best: Clinton - Obama - Biden
The worst: Trump II - Reagan - Trump I - Dubya - H.W. Bush
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 10, 2025 3:21 AM |
I'm old, too, r9. My vote is for the JFK Administration.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 10, 2025 3:22 AM |
That was not a gay RickRoll at r12! I don't know why it failed!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 10, 2025 3:25 AM |
JFK.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 10, 2025 1:07 PM |
"NAFTA was really fucked up for a Democrat. I don’t know how that happened."
Follow the money trail. Before NAFTA, the Clintons were barely holding it together financially.
After NAFTA, when the Clintons sold out the American worker for their own financial benefit, the Clintons were suddenly wealthy, courtesy of Wall Street.
And Democrats simply cannot understand why Ohio, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Missouri are all solidly and reliably red.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 10, 2025 1:23 PM |
Obviously the current one.

Kennedy, hands down.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 10, 2025 1:27 PM |
Kennedy? Really?
The same administration that featured Robert McNamara as head of DOD, the chief architect of the Viet Nam War, which sent thousands of American men to their deaths for absolutely no reason, then or now.
Surely you jest!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 10, 2025 1:34 PM |
If Kennedy had lived there might not have been a Vietman war at all, R18.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 10, 2025 1:59 PM |
FDR, despite its shortcomings.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 10, 2025 2:00 PM |
NAFTA wasn't really the problem. China entering the WTO was.
An integrated North American economy with resources from Canada, capital from the USA and yes labor from Mexico made/makes sense.
So to does raising the over all standard of living for Mexican workers if people are truly concerned about them coming here illegally.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 10, 2025 2:06 PM |
JFK had smart educated men, intellectuals even, not the clown show in our current administration.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 10, 2025 2:09 PM |
Clinton. Reversed that horrible Bush economy. The ‘90s were an era of stability and prosperity. .
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 10, 2025 2:17 PM |
But Kennedy did not live and there was a very costly, very deadly Viet Nam war, R19.
What is the point of your idle speculation?
And US involvement in the Viet Nam war began under the Eisenhower administration. It continued under the Kennedy administration, so saying the Viet Nam war might not have happened had Kennedy lived is complete nonsense.

Jimmy Carter picked the smartest people he could find in every field.

LBJ was technically in my lifetime but I don't remember it.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 10, 2025 3:44 PM |
Clinton, he had an experienced foreign policy team. Neo-liberalism didn’t work out and his wife was a disaster.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 10, 2025 5:11 PM |
Clinton was a good POTUS, but he was no Jack Kennedy,
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 10, 2025 5:43 PM |
HillaryCare was Clinton’s biggest fail.

by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 11, 2025 1:33 AM |
I love reading the young guys with no idea of what was going on at the time trying to drag Clinton about DADT and DOMA. No sense of the times whatsoever.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 11, 2025 2:55 AM |
Clinton and Obama but both were mediocre and have mixed legacies. Still, all of the Democrats outrank all of the Republicans. The best Republican for me (born in 68) was probably Gerald Ford, which says a lot because he's not ranked very highly. But alongside Nixon, Reagan, Bushes I & II and the current disaster, he was the least fascist.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 11, 2025 3:02 AM |
Did you hear the one about the Reagan administration calling up the taliban and requesting our hostages be held in captivity until AFTER Reagan was inaugurated? The Carter admin had successfully negotiated the terms for the hostages release!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 11, 2025 3:12 AM |
The taliban did not exist in 1980 and they never existed in Iran.
F. Go back and study harder, R36.

Just imagine what the world would be like today if JFK and RFK hadn't been killed and each served two terms as President of the United States. No Vietnam, no Nixon and possibly no Reagan. The world would be unrecognizable to us.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 11, 2025 10:35 PM |
Obama. Clinton normalized too much bigotry.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 11, 2025 10:51 PM |
Clinton knew how to connect with the average working class voter.

First, I cannot forget the very real, nearly catastrophic financial crisis we were in starting in 2007-2008 and 2009. Seriously bad shit. Obama got us back on our feet. He did. He put together a great team and stabilized our economy, and it grew under his leadership. He killed Osama Bin Laden. He gave us the affordable Care Act. Other than that his policies were very favorable to the Gay community.
Lyndon Johnson put together his Great Society programs and they were good for the country, and he supported voting right, but he was undone by the Vietnam war. He owned it.
FDR was not in my lifetime. But my parents who were in high school during the Great Depression, used to get teary-eyed talking about him and Eleanor long after they were dead.
Carter had an excellent team but couldn't get anything done because of Congress. He ran the Russians out of Afghanistan and earned Russia's everlasting anger at the humiliation. He was strong on the Environment and Human Rights. He also was able to broker Peace in the Middle East with the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt, which was a huge deal. No country did more to contribute to the instability in the Middle East, than Russia. Carter knew this and he really kicked their asses. Syria, Lebanon, and Iran were clients of Russia and Iran Hostage crisis was payback.
Biden accomplish a lot legislatively and his huge Infrastructure Bill was important. He strengthened NATO. He was strong on the environment. He failed to prosecute Trump and his t op collaborators for the Insurrection. He was unable to deal with Netanyahu. It seemed for a long time that our strategy for Ukraine, was to use Ukraine to hammer Russia in such a way as to drain Russia of the ability to fight, and destroy the Russian economy. The longer the war lasted the harder it was for Russia to prosecute it effectively. Biden seemed OK with that. It took forever for the U.S. to send the kind of weapons systems Ukraine needed to make progress. Now, Russia has North Koreans, and soldiers from couple of Middle Eastern countries. Iran and North Korea are supplying weapons and China is financing. None of this is exactly Biden's fault. It is Trump, who would not be President if not for Biden. So that's my summary and you can disagree. I thought Clinton's foreign policy was terrible. We had Rwandan genocide, we had Bosnia, we had a few terrorist attacks, and yes NAFTA was Bush's baby, but Clinton took up the cause and got it passed.
I guess after reflection I have to say Obama because he gave us stability and healthcare and rebuilt our international reputation.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 12, 2025 2:36 AM |
Obama.
His people coming in fresh saved the American economy from a very serious recession, or worse.
And despite the fascist GOP blocking anything they could, he still made progress, without the trashiness of the Clinton pack.

R44 Clinton was the trashiest person in the Clinton Administration. He had a very good cabinet and staff.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 12, 2025 2:02 PM |
Very curious how people have no memory of the economic recession or the pandemic. Both catastrophic events mismanaged under Republicans. R43

by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 12, 2025 3:29 PM |
R48 I haven't forgotten. I remember how well Obama handled t he Ebola outbreak and how he set up an agency to handle pandemics and even a step by step internal book for how to address it. He was working closely with China. Xi and Obama got along well and Xi was not one of the bad guys back then. He seemed like someone open to limited cooperation. Certainly true as far as pandemics go. Trump upon assuming office, one of the first things he did was to dismantle that office and ditch the protocols. Trump new by December,2016, that a pandemic was coming, he told a few people in January, and in late January/early February, McConnell got together with the Republican caucus, and told them we were having a pandemic, and they used that confidential information to buy and sell stocks. Jared Kushner refused to share equipment with hospitals that needed ventilators, and nurses were pictured on the front pages of the NY Post wearing trash bags. I remember the refrigerator trucks repurposed as temporary morgues and people not being able to see loved ones who were critically ill in the hospital. I Remember not being able to go to funerals. I remember losing a cousin and a best friend to COVID back then. All brought to us by corrupt, incompetent Republicans. George Bush's recession was another bad time. Obama gave us the tools we needed to address pandemics and those tools were spurned. Thank goodness Biden was able to get the vaccines ready and distributed. The Dems always rebuild the economy and stabilize everything. We knowhow to govern. The Republicans know how to lie, cheat, and steal.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 12, 2025 3:45 PM |
Definitely Obama. Clinton's cabinet were picked from stereotypes. LBJ was the most effecive, however.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 12, 2025 3:47 PM |
People think the recession ended when Maga lite demanded Americans go out to shop to end the recession, this protest occurred two years later after the recession "ended".
