Rosie and Elizabeth are fighting again

Though Hasselbeck praised Behar in her videos about O'Donnell, she made headlines in January for calling the comedian out over her thoughts about Carrie Underwood performing at Donald Trump's inauguration.

"Joy — @carrieunderwood is an INCREDIBLE WOMAN. You could learn from her strength," Hasselbeck wrote on X.

Hasselbeck has made subsequent appearances on The View since her departure from the permanent panel, including as a guest cohost in 2022, and again as a guest for Barbara Walters' tribute episode in January 2023 after the co-creator died the previous month.

O'Donnell spoke out against Hasselbeck's 2022 spot on the show, saying that it reminded her of "why I don't wanna watch it with her anymore."

This could be made into an opera.

Kristin Chenoweth as Elizabeth

Jayne Houdyshell as Rosie

by Anonymousreply 5October 10, 2025 1:27 AM

There is nothing I need to read from Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She's an annoying little twit with a shrill voice. I know on advance I will disagree with every single thing she says.

She's like that mosquito buzzing around your ear when you should be enjoying a good sleep in country fresh air.

by Anonymousreply 6October 10, 2025 1:30 AM

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

by Anonymousreply 7October 10, 2025 1:34 AM

They should just fuck and get it over with.

by Anonymousreply 8October 10, 2025 1:36 AM

I remember when Elisabeth came back as guest host in 2022. Meghan McCain was all excited and called her the O.G. line Republican. No matter what the topic, Elisabeth couldn't say more than 2 sentences without mentioning God in some way. Even Meghan had a WTF expression on her face at one point.

Last time I saw Elisabeth on Twitter, she was posting about going to her kids' football games and getting around 6 likes per post.

I don't think she cares about working again. Maybe she's doing the tradwife thing.

by Anonymousreply 9October 10, 2025 1:39 AM

Elisabeth Hasselbeck- yet another vacuous no-talent thrust upon us via a "reality" show. Besides Survivor and The View, what's she done?

by Anonymousreply 10October 10, 2025 1:39 AM

Jeez is this like three years ago news? There is nobody less relevant right now than these two.

by Anonymousreply 11October 10, 2025 1:42 AM

R10 She also did FOX&Friends when she left 'The View', and supposedly was paid very well to join the show.

by Anonymousreply 12October 10, 2025 1:43 AM

Here's the article"I pray the lies held over you are released," Hasselbeck said, adding that O'Donnell "lost it and threw me into early contractions, but ABC made me call and apologize" after the 2007 fight.

Conservative commentator Elisabeth Hasselbeck fired back Thursday at her former The View cohost Rosie O'Donnell in a series of fiery, emotional Instagram Stories videos responding to the latter's reignited allegation that their 2007 split-screen fight on the talk show was "a setup" by production.

After O'Donnell recently told the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel podcast that the pair's legendary on-air spat "was prepared" by then-producer Bill Geddie (who died in 2023), Hasselbeck got teary-eyed as she shared an impassioned response to O'Donnell's claims.

Hasselbeck, an alum of Survivor who cohosted The View from 2003-2013, began her response by praising current cohost Whoopi Goldberg for supporting her through their differing social and political views.

"We love each other. I just texted her last week and thanked her for being a friend who doesn’t want me to think how she thinks, and I don’t require her to think how I think," Hasselbeck said, later adding, "This requires two sane people who have good hearts, who have different opinions agreeing that we are God’s people and we’re just going to love each other through our opinions and let them be different without punishing the other person. This is possible. It’s not possible with someone like Rosie O’Donnell, who time and time again wants to spread lies and hate."

Don't make me post Rosie's star turn in "Riding the Bus With My Sister" co-starring Andie McDowall whose emotional range ran the gamut from A to B.

by Anonymousreply 14October 10, 2025 1:43 AM

Where is Elisabeth's tearful video where she blames Rosie for her early pregnancy contractions?

by Anonymousreply 15October 10, 2025 1:45 AM

R13 That's a great response from Hasslebeck, I must admit. She has quietly let everyone know she and Whoopi have a solid bond over a common enemy - Rosie. Whoopi obviously detests Rosie - I can only imagine the conversations she has with Hasslebeck about their experiences with Rosie on the show.

Notice every time Joy brings up Rosie's name on the show (mostly about her fight with Trump in December 2006) Whoopi just stares at her and says nothing about Rosie ?

by Anonymousreply 16October 10, 2025 1:49 AM

I followed that year on The View like it was my job, not only recording and watching back every episode but also watching the web videos Rosie and her two friends did every day. Rosie is absolutely right: She went out of her way to be nice to her. I even remember the day after Elisabeth went to Bush’s state dinner, Rosie brought her onto the web show thing and gushed over how great she looked and let Elisabeth talk about what a great time she had, even though Rosie loathed Bush. So I fully get why she was hurt when Elisabeth didn’t defend her on Fox. It wouldn’t have taken much for Elisabeth to say, “she’s my friend and she’s a good person,” or something like that. But she didn’t and Rosie was right to be pissed.

by Anonymousreply 17October 10, 2025 2:51 AM

Leave no hatchet unburied and no horse carcass unbeaten.

by Anonymousreply 18October 10, 2025 4:00 AM

The early contractions Hasselbeck was having was the baby’s way of telling her mother to STFU.

by Anonymousreply 19October 10, 2025 4:09 AM

[quote]She also did FOX&Friends when she left 'The View', and supposedly was paid very well to join the show.

She was paid very well to get raped by male fox executives

by Anonymousreply 20October 10, 2025 5:24 AM

Team Rosie.

Always.

by Anonymousreply 21October 10, 2025 5:33 AM

I enjoyed The Look for Less. Apart from that I don’t really care. She’s a garden variety asshole. Whoopdeedoo. At least she’s not wearing a balaclava and pepper spraying priests in the street. Although I’m sure she fully endorses it.

by Anonymousreply 22October 10, 2025 5:41 AM

[quote]So I fully get why she was hurt when Elisabeth didn’t defend her on Fox.

Rosie was in her mid-40s at the time, and moderating the #1 talk show in America. She was old enough and responsible enough to defend herself - she didn't need anyone else to defend her. Same with Trump - she didn't need Walters to defend her. But Rosie likes to light the match, set the fire and then run for shelter and expect everyone else to put the fire out.

PLUS, she had already had her own very successful talk show and had some success as an actress. Elizabeth was just a reality show contestant and extremely lucky to get The View gig. Rosie is a bully.

I'm Team Neither One!

by Anonymousreply 24October 10, 2025 12:04 PM

I was a clinically depressed substitute teacher back when this happened.

On days I was not called in to work, I would sit around and smoke cigarettes, eat Tombstone pizzas and watch "The View" and "Price is Right."

The Rosie/Elisabeth fight and a guy guessing the Showcase exactly right in the same week were the most exciting things that ever happened. It was all I could think about.

In fact, I am sure the first time I came to DataLounge was right after it happened.

Luckily, I got a better job soon after.

I 100% believe it was a set-up.

by Anonymousreply 25October 10, 2025 12:19 PM

Was it a set-up that only Rosie knew about or was Elizabeth in on it? I didn't think Elizabeth was a good enough actress to pull it off. And if neither knew about it, how did the producers put it in motion? And why would two women on a serious news show demonstrate the stereotype of women catfighting?

by Anonymousreply 26October 10, 2025 12:24 PM

Since May 23. 2007 Hasslebeck seems to have moved forward with her life, with different career opportunities taken and raised (what looks like) a good, solid family.

Rosie, on the other hand, continues to play 'victim' and 'misunderstood'. She seems to have 'peaked' in high school and hasn't moved on from there.

by Anonymousreply 27October 10, 2025 12:28 PM

It's fine if you hate Rosie but let's not pretend she's a loser with nothing going on in her life, r27.

Hasslebeck is a non-entity.

by Anonymousreply 28October 10, 2025 12:36 PM

So, this old feud is back. That means it's 2007. Great. I'm 18 years younger. Works for me.

by Anonymousreply 29October 10, 2025 12:41 PM

Why does whoops hate Rosie?

by Anonymousreply 30October 10, 2025 12:46 PM

Rosie was completely right to be pissed. She and Elizabeth were friends outside of work. The fact that Elizabeth wouldn't defend her makes her a shit friend. Typical Evangelical bitch.

by Anonymousreply 31October 10, 2025 1:02 PM

Hassslbeck should stick to attending her kids’ football games.

By the way, what upper-middle-class parent in this day and age lets their kids play football? Hasselbeck is so primitive.

by Anonymousreply 32October 10, 2025 1:32 PM

Team Rosie. I'll never side with a Christofascist Trumper over an outspoken lesbian. Rosie can be grating but she's usually right and has no fucks to give. The View has always been a toxic show/environment and Barbara Walters was the source of that toxicity. She was a vile person who llayed her co-stars/underlings against each other like her own personal chess pieces. Her influence over the show still lingers like a rancid fart.

by Anonymousreply 33October 10, 2025 1:38 PM

R32 "upper-middle class?" Also she married an NFL player so that might be a teensy bit of a clue.

by Anonymousreply 34October 10, 2025 1:40 PM

Yes, all the more reason why he shouldn’t want his own kids playing a sport that leads to a high incidence of brain injury. I’m sure her NFL husband has seen it all. As for the rest of your post, what’s your point? Are we supposed to read your mind since you’re too lazy to actually state your point?

by Anonymousreply 35October 10, 2025 1:53 PM

[quote]Rosie was completely right to be pissed. She and Elizabeth were friends outside of work. The fact that Elizabeth wouldn't defend her makes her a shit friend. Typical Evangelical bitch.

Everyone has lost a friend at some point. Not everyone jumps on media to obsess about it. Rosie keeps obsessing about it…like a spurned lover. Even Sandra Bernhardt got over Madonna snubbing her.

by Anonymousreply 36October 10, 2025 2:45 PM

Elizabeth publicly embarrassed her and downplayed their friendship. Rosie is entitled to feel bitter. Should she stop talking about? Sure. But Elizabeth is a one-dimensional cunt.

by Anonymousreply 37October 10, 2025 3:56 PM

Dyke Drama!

by Anonymousreply 38October 10, 2025 4:16 PM

Rosie had feelings for Elizabeth. She’s admitted as much and even if she didn’t speak on it, it’s plainly obvious by the way she’s acted. She has a much more cavalier attitude about her fall out with Whoopi.

But Elizabeth has always been passive aggressive towards Rosie. I believe she knows the deal and is playing to the MAGA crowd who hates Rosie. And the “I pray for you” stuff is intentionally condescending

by Anonymousreply 39October 10, 2025 4:26 PM

It's not like Rosie just started talking about this out of the blue. She was on a podcast recently, they asked her about it, and she answered. She didn't say anything about it that she hasn't already said a hundred times. Hasselbeck's just grabbing the opportunity to get a little publicity.

by Anonymousreply 40October 10, 2025 4:54 PM

R39, Elizabeth knew Rosie was attracted to her and knows acting passive aggressively will cause her more pain. I would expect nothing less from a fundie Christian.

by Anonymousreply 41October 10, 2025 5:38 PM

I remember when this blew up. On my lunch break at work, I'd read the Survivor Sucks website forum for The View. People would be talking about the episode that just ended. There was some incident almost everyday. I bought a computer with a DVR so that I could watch the show after work. (R17, I also watched Rosie's JAHERO blogs.)

Rosie was the Fox network's punching bag at the time, and I understand how she was hurt that Elisabeth could be friendly with her on the set of the View and then appear on Fox and sit silently as Fox maligned Rosie as unpatriotic. But it was even harder for Rosie because she had a crush on Elisabeth, and that made the betrayal more personal. (A few years ago, in the book "Ladies who Punch", Joy said that Rosie had had a crush on Elisabeth. Rosie admitted to it, and she joked that Elisabeth pinged because she had played softball in college and she had large biceps.). Elisabeth went on one of the Fox shows, where she was asked about the revelation, and she acted disgusted that Rosie had a gay crush on her.

I love Rosie, but she's inconsistent.

She can't forgive Elisabeth for failing to stand up for her on Fox, but she can forgive Howard Stern for calling her vile names over a period of several years?

When she ended up at the same event as Whoopi, and a hostess asked if they would mind being placed at the same table, and Whoopi asked Rosie, "Would it be so bad?", Rosie refused to be seated with Whoopi. But she called Kelly Ripa a homophobe on the air when one of them called into the other's show and wouldn't allow Kelly to try to defend herself. (Rosie called Kelly a homophobe after Kelly told Clay Aiken: don't cover my mouth with your hand; I don't know where your hand has been". Even though Kelly has been best friends with Anderson Cooper for years.). Later Rosie insulted Kelly Ripa on social media when Kelly refused to chat with Rosie when they ended up seated next to each other at an event. Rosie posted about Kelly: "The girl can hold a grudge."

by Anonymousreply 42October 10, 2025 5:45 PM

R42, that's not inconsistent. She was never close friends with Howard Stern so obviously the words he used wouldn't have hurt her as much. Elizabeth hung out with her children and her wife at the time. So it was far more personal than anything Stern did.

by Anonymousreply 43October 10, 2025 6:37 PM

"... they would mind being placed at the same table, and Whoopi asked Rosie, "Would it be so bad?", Rosie refused to be seated with Whoopi"

As I recall they just happened to bump into each other in a restaurant on their way to separate get-togethers. The hostess was confused, and Whoops used it to passive-aggressively ding Rosie for being unfriendly.

by Anonymousreply 44October 10, 2025 7:43 PM

R28 I never said I hate Rosie, nor did I ever say she was a 'loser' with nothing going on in her life. I did point out the fact that she continues to blame being victimized in every situation which doesn't go her way, since before the blow-up between her and Hasslebeck. We can start from 2001 when she bought 'McCall's' and continue into the present day. It's exhausting.

Comprehension is not your strong suit.

by Anonymousreply 45October 10, 2025 11:43 PM

You implied that she has no life beyond whining and playing the victim and that Hasslebeck is a shining example of career success.

Both claims are ludicrous. It's possible to dislike a celebrity without pretending that they're a total failure. Your comment was really stupid.

by Anonymousreply 46October 11, 2025 4:07 PM

All these "View" has-beens who keep up their old rivalries are ridiculous.

I absolutely include Rosie in with Liz Hasselbeck and Meghan McCain (who is of course the most bitter of all).

At least Debbie Matenopolos doesn't badmouth them now she's older, and has moved on to live her life.

by Anonymousreply 47October 11, 2025 4:53 PM

Hasselcrack was, is and will always be a turbo cunt.

by Anonymousreply 48October 11, 2025 5:00 PM

Last week, I joined Meghan McCain's podcast 15 minutes after it started. There were 113 people listening live on the Youtube page. Not quite the audience reach she had when she was on the View.

by Anonymousreply 49October 11, 2025 7:27 PM

[quote] All these "View" has-beens who keep up their old rivalries are ridiculous.

It’s a thing a lot of women do.

by Anonymousreply 50October 12, 2025 6:48 AM

I truly think Rosie developed a crush on her. I’m not saying her claim wasn’t valid over the betrayal and cowardice Elizabeth displayed when she went on that conservative show and the hosts dog mouthed Rosie and called her a traitor. I think it cut deeper because she considered Elizabeth a friend and had developed feelings for her.

by Anonymousreply 51October 12, 2025 7:18 AM

Elisabitch went all slippery slope when it came to gay marriage.

cunt

by Anonymousreply 52October 12, 2025 7:42 AM

Hasselbeck is such a fucking weirdo.

She's made from the same cookie cutter as Candace Cameron Bure. Wants so desperately to be perceived as a lovely friendly angelic Christian, but lets the mask slip and then goes into meltdown when people spot it.

"Why can't you all see I'm a perfect Christian girl? Why are you all being so mean to me?! I'm so lovely and friendly and smiley! Just because I think gays are sinners doesn't mean I don't love them all! :) :) :) "

Definitely the sort of person who'll probably snap one day. Give her a very wide berth.
