Stephen Miller Says Trump Had Plenary Authority and then Freezes Up On CNN
An awkward live TV moment for White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller is under heavy scrutiny on social media.
On Monday afternoon, the Donald Trump aide went on CNN’s News Central to discuss the President’s deployment of National Guard troops to U.S. cities.
CNN asked Miller whether the Trump Administration will abide by a district judge’s order blocking the Guard’s deployment in Oregon. “Well, the Administration filed an appeal this morning with the Ninth Circuit,” Miller began. “I would note the Administration won an identical case in the Ninth Circuit just a few months ago with respect to the federalizing of the California National Guard.”
Then, Miller said: “Under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, the President has plenary authority, has—” before making an abrupt stop. Miller blinked several times, with anchor Boris Sanchez calling out his name, though he still did not respond.
*My guess is that Stephen Miller realized what he just admitted on live television or either someone in his earpiece told him to shut the fuck up. Anyway, if there was any question we are in 1930s Germany, there shouldn’t be now.

So far this is what has scared me the most from this administration.

Trump has stated that the mayor of Chicago and Governor of Illinois should be arrested. Will he have ICE arrest them?

A friend who's in Chicago right now for a conference just sent me photos of the pleasant quiet street outside her hotel with the message "Absolute hellhole."

Give him a break! Miller just came up a little short, that's all.

Miller and Trump are simply stuff out of my playbook.
Create a fake scapegoat, whip the masses into a frenzy and watch with glee as those same gullible masses turn on each other.

Miller's got a little device inserted into his asshole that Trump zaps whenever he steps out of line.

And Pam, where is yours inserted?

Peter Thiel, R6. Trump is drooling himself to sleep on a toilet at any given moment these days. He's not calling the shots and he never was.

And that's why it won't matter when Trump dies. He's only the figurehead.

He is only the figurehead, yes. But Trump has the following. I mean for godsake, his followers were ready to lynch his vice president last time on his orders. As you can see from this abrupt stop on national air, they don't have the personality to pull off errors, they just break down like robots. Miller fucked up and couldn't come back from it. That is why they are rushing, rushing everything through now while they still have Trump so that everything is in place where they won't need a personality to control the masses - all the orders will be in place.

[post redacted because independent.co.uk thinks that links to their ridiculous rag are a bad thing. Somebody might want to tell them how the internet works. Or not. We don't really care. They do suck though. Our advice is that you should not click on the link and whatever you do, don't read their truly terrible articles.]

Exactly R11. The frantic increase in authoritarian "total control" declarations and tactics mirror how much they feel/know they are losing control and how their presumed authority is weakening and evaporating. This is in direct alignment with Trump's physical and mental decline, and the Epstein Files brouhaha as well. They all know Trump holds the MAGAt movement together. They all know, if only subconsciously, there will be a night of the long knives in the GOP to replace him. In addition, the cowardly complicity of the news media, and the infiltration of bots and AI fake vids into social media to try and slant the narratives are also desperation tactics. These are no longer working sufficiently except with the most brainwashed MAGAts and there are not nearly enough of those people to matter. They've gone into overreach territory and that's a pivotal point of desperation. It's going to get ugly, but it's not going to benefit the Trump regime.

Stephen Miller is such a smarmy little know-it-all he couldn't stop himself in time from "correcting" someone.
What an idiot. The worst thing about the current situation is that the fascists who rule over us are such blithering idiots in reality.

I agree R16, but that doesn't mean the "plan" is a good one. And in this case, it is not.

He doesn't make any gesture to the side that he has lost audio. He doesn't try to tell Boris he has lost audio or that he can't hear him. He just stops. He just freezes. I wish they would have just held it on him, just had him sitting there like an idiot. They must have the camera footage of what happened next.
One thing that really annoys me about CNN is that they will have these people on and ask pointed questions. But they will just let them blather on, lying through their teeth and there is no follow up. It's just on to the next question. Why can't they press these people more who they know are obviously talking bullshit?

You DL kweens are OVER REACTING. Our POTUS is using LIBERTY WARRIORS to clean our cities of the VIOLENT ANTIFA scum as Jesus told him to do.

[quote]Why can't they press these people more who they know are obviously talking bullshit?
Because that's not what they're paid to do. They're paid to look nice and sound concerned, and that's it. They're paid o do what their corporate bosses tell them to do, which is not journalism or anything that resembles journalism. If they were to practice actual journalism, like holding the camera on Stephen Miller until he blinks or informing the viewer what happened during the commercial break, they would get fired.
I'm not defending them. I'd speak the truth and lose my job over it but no one is hiring me to anchor the news. These anchors and "reporters" are just more dime-a-dozen quislings, like the many others we see today.

If media pressed Trump’s goons, they would stomp off and never come on the program again. Of course then the broadcaster could list all the spokes-goons who were afraid to come on.
