Who’s watching Cyndi Lauper on CBS right now?

I am waiting for Joni.

Sorry, did a search. Did not see a thread.

by Anonymousreply 35October 6, 2025 2:45 PM

Tell me when she sings Change of Heart and I Drive All Night, please.

Those are my absolute favorites.

by Anonymousreply 1October 6, 2025 12:22 AM

Drove.

Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 2October 6, 2025 12:24 AM

She already did I Drove All Night.

by Anonymousreply 3October 6, 2025 12:26 AM

It says a lot that Joni agreed to appear on this special. That's a badge of honor for any musician is to have the approval of Miss Mitchell

by Anonymousreply 4October 6, 2025 12:38 AM

Madonna was desperate for Joni’s approval at one point but never got it.

by Anonymousreply 5October 6, 2025 12:44 AM

Alright, Nina Simone has just sauntered onto the stage!

by Anonymousreply 6October 6, 2025 12:46 AM

I like that most of the audience is seated. That’s how I like my rock. Looks like Joni is coming up, and is seated.

by Anonymousreply 7October 6, 2025 12:49 AM

I'm watching "The Mummy Returns."

So...

by Anonymousreply 8October 6, 2025 12:49 AM

R5 I doubt it. You post shit about madonna in every thread about pop music.

by Anonymousreply 9October 6, 2025 12:52 AM

I’m waiting for She Bop and Goonies. I remember when a shocked Debbie Boone commiserated with Tipper Gore about rating records after hearing her niece singing She Bop while hosting a tea party with her dolls and teddy bears.

by Anonymousreply 10October 6, 2025 1:01 AM

She Bop is the first song.

by Anonymousreply 11October 6, 2025 1:03 AM

Too many boring ballads, Cyn.

by Anonymousreply 12October 6, 2025 1:06 AM

Goonies is the second song.

Corey and Martha Plimpton are there!!

😀

by Anonymousreply 13October 6, 2025 1:08 AM

Still a lot of power to her voice at age 72.

by Anonymousreply 14October 6, 2025 1:18 AM

I just need to hear Change of Heart, now.

by Anonymousreply 15October 6, 2025 1:23 AM

Did Chachi show up?

by Anonymousreply 16October 6, 2025 1:25 AM

I wept openly during the Joni/cyndi duet., only to learn that Cher is coming up! What a fabulous program! Thanks, OP!

by Anonymousreply 17October 6, 2025 1:30 AM

SHE BOP

by Anonymousreply 18October 6, 2025 1:32 AM

I shed a tear or two at I Drove At Night. Love, love that song.

by Anonymousreply 19October 6, 2025 1:32 AM

Oh, the diversity flag during True Colors. I’m surprised CBS allowed this.

by Anonymousreply 20October 6, 2025 1:51 AM

Loving it!

by Anonymousreply 21October 6, 2025 1:53 AM

Why wouldn’t they, R20??

It’s a fucking concert. They have no control over what the artist does.

by Anonymousreply 22October 6, 2025 1:56 AM

r22 Have you been asleep in Trump's 2025?

by Anonymousreply 23October 6, 2025 2:01 AM

Girls Just Wanna have Fundamental Rights! I’m scared for Cyndi.

by Anonymousreply 24October 6, 2025 2:02 AM

Fuck off, R23.

I bet that ABC debacle taught the networks a thing or 3.5 BILLION things about censorship.

She’s a fucking rock star. Probably not that many viewers to begin with, but she is using her voice to preach for women’s freedoms.

by Anonymousreply 25October 6, 2025 2:07 AM

R25 Rock star?

by Anonymousreply 26October 6, 2025 2:18 AM

Pop star.

Better??

by Anonymousreply 27October 6, 2025 2:21 AM

[quote] I wept openly during the Joni/cyndi duet

MARY!

by Anonymousreply 28October 6, 2025 2:28 AM

r25 No need to be so ugly, good grief

by Anonymousreply 29October 6, 2025 2:30 AM

r25 WHOOSH

Learn to read, Frau.

by Anonymousreply 30October 6, 2025 2:34 AM

[quote] Cher is coming up!

I thought only singers were invited to perform.

by Anonymousreply 31October 6, 2025 2:38 AM

R31 For real

by Anonymousreply 32October 6, 2025 2:41 AM

What an icon! And she’s got her induction to the Rock Hall coming up, then her new musical (Working Girl) opening on Broadway next year. The girl is not slowing down!

by Anonymousreply 33October 6, 2025 3:24 AM

Her induction into the Rock Hall is a joke. Her career lasted 3 years. Since the Hall was criticized for not letting enough people in around 2010 they’ve started letting everyone in.

by Anonymousreply 34October 6, 2025 3:29 AM

The Rock Hall may be a joke these days but Lauper’s not. She’s one award away from an EGOT at this point.
