To answer op’s question I’m not sure what the fascination is. R9 has always been envious of other people's lives.

I've been attracted to, had sex with and dated older men. It was mostly situational, not due to an attraction for older men specifically. I preferred people close to my own age, but there weren't many of them around. When the apps got going around 2010, there was suddenly a bunch of profiles and online listings from millennials requesting nay demanding older men, and on the flip side, profiles and listings from boomer men specifying much younger men.

As time went on, posts and ads became more open about the fact that money and drugs were sought or offered also. I realized online dating was terminal when I also realized the websites and apps wouldn't remove, censor or ban these prostitution-forward posts. I look like Santa Claus and I get texted online everyday with “Hola, papi!
