Tasteful friends, Oksana Baiul’s Shreveport, LA home is on the market
She’s moving back to Las Vegas, as she can’t make a living in the south. Her plan was to open a skating school, but it never came to fruition, and she’s going through a divorce.
The property has been heavily updated, and clearly looks like a divorce house. Furniture is sparse.

Wow! Location is everything. I have relatives in NYC who just sold a home and an apartment for several million dollars each.
Very Russian decor.

A nice mix of Tara and the Kremlin!

How does she have a million dollars? Ice Capades?

That's actually quite subdued and tasteful for Russian decor.

You can take a girl out of the Eastern Block, but you can’t take the Eastern Block out of the girl.
The Cucina is her nod to standard American frau.

That's actually pretty nice.
I didn't realize she was in good financial shape. For some reason, I thought she had a lot of struggles after winning like alcoholism and didn't make what she could have because of it. But it seems to have all turned out OK for her over time.

Could be worse, but it's a mix of two styles that are too showy--Southern plantation and Eastern bloc. I'm sure she'll have something uglier in Vegas.

I actually don't have anything bad to say about it. I'm kind of in love with the outdoors, too. I like how it looks like someone who enjoys gardening and the outdoors lives and spends time there: not too neat, pots here and there.
That said, I don't think I could ever live in Louisiana.

I have no idea who this bitch is, but her house could scarcely be more "1925 Shreveport Oilman' Wife's House."
It is what it is on the exterior, an underwhelming Colonial Revival of no sophistication. Inside, it's nothing but bad proportions and very undersized windows. (The arched windows and French doors are okay.)
In the kitchen and adjacent ateas, someone went wild with some Lowe's applied moldings, maybe in a couple of phases over the last 50 years. Like everything else about the place, it's big but with no eye to beauty.
The red building (photo 34) with the large arched windows is the best thing about the property.

That place is cursed thanks to the clown figurines over the fireplace.
