I Am Wickeded Out!
I have nothing against a heavy advertising campaign and a bit of product placement, but this second installment of Wicked is really going over the top. I just saw a commercial for Secret deodorant-with Wicked scents. Le Creuset is selling Wicked-themed cooking pots! At this point I am taking this as a sign: the film stinks and you need some pot to get through it.
What other Wickedness is creeping into ads and products?

And the first installment is unwatchable! UGH!!Paula Prentiss replaced Joanna Cassidy…. who was fired after filming a week of scenes. I was Wicked out after 20 minutes

$750+ million worldwide, plus another $100 million from streaming, says you're wrong, R4. (And, oh dear.)

R6 A lot of garbage produced by Hollywood has made a ton of money. Box office success often has nothing to do with the quality of the film. Maybe for an 8-year-old this film is OK but at two hours and 40 minutes it's unendurable

Universal has made hundreds of millions of dollars off Wicked merchandise. It's a huge cash cow for them.
They had a Wicked merch showcase at Hudson House this week. It's so fun.

I wasn't that impressed by the first film. I will see the second one eventually, probably on streaming, but I am not going to seek it out. The musical never did anything for me, and I saw it around 2005 (Rue McClanahan was in it at the time). The film seemed really overly bright and washed out, too, which seemed like an odd choice.

I regretted watching the first film in theaters. It was a disjointed bunch of vinaigrettes stringed together with no rhyme or reason and absolutely no pacing. It works much better on streaming where you can watch in chunks.

I can't imagine that some of these product branding deals are profitable for the products.
A while back I saw Carnation creamers for coffe which were branded for White Lotus - huh? There was a Thai pineapple coconut flavor.
Some of these just don't make any sense.

All of the Wicked merch will be coming soon ... to your local Dollar Tree. Or Marshall's. Or Ross. Or TJ Maxx. Or wherever things go now that Big Lots and the 99 Cents store are dead.

I haven’t either, r11 — I think most of these Kmart kweens spend all day watching network television, after having listened to the “morning zoo” with John Ray and Billy Bob on “Quad City’s number one radio station, KFLY-AM!”

I said nothing about quality, R7. I said $750+ million contradicts the claim it is unwatchable.
Whether you are superior to the people who paid the $750 million to watch it is another question entirely, but seems to be the one you want to discuss.

This reminds me of the 90s when you’d get a toy related to whichever new movie Disney was releasing with a Happy Meal. Albeit, that was mild and marketing is now cranked up to 11 to ensure as much money as possible is made.
A wicked cooking pot? Good grief.
