Jimmy Fallon Will Continue To Avoid Politics On ‘The Tonight Show’: “I Just Keep My Head Down”

Jimmy Fallon has been scared straight. He will no longer mention Trump at all. He says he will continue to steer clear of making The Tonight Show too political following Jimmy Kimmel‘s suspension.

In a new interview promoting his new NBC reality competition, On Brand, Fallon was asked how he will navigate his late-night show as tension between the Trump administration rises.

“Our show has never really been that political, you know. We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that’s really the way our show works,” he said on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street. “Our monologues are kind of the same that we’ve been doing since Johnny Carson was hosting the Tonight Show. So really, I just keep my head down and make sure the jokes are funny.”

He should never be forgiven for when he had Trump on in 2016 and “normalized” him, messing his hair up and all.

Fallon has the worst of all the late-night shows.

Hegseth's drinking buddy.

by Anonymousreply 5October 1, 2025 5:06 AM

I never thought Fallon was funny. His "humor" is for children and senior citizens.

by Anonymousreply 6October 1, 2025 5:09 AM

Old, broken down, drunken whore pulling up the fishnets for Daddy Trump.

He’s actually smart.

Continue to work, earn money, & if this isn’t resolved by 2028? Then it’s time to GTFOH.

People love to give celebs shit about this, but these people have contractual obligations, bills to pay, mortgages, kids in school, health insurance concerns, older parents who rely on them financially, and a myriad other factors and obligations.

Sometimes, even wealthy people cannot just pick up and leave on a moment’s notice, especially those who have legitimate interests as to why they must do what they have to do, in order to honor specific commitments and/or goals.

And let’s not forget, that currently, the entire world is on fire, one way or another. Things are currently rapidly changing, especially with AI, & we cannot be certain how things will shake out politically or economically, in other countries. What if the entire world becomes more like America now, than the America that existed 20 years ago?

These people are wealthy, but that doesn’t mean they’re not vulnerable to whatever sorts of exploits that are coming for us all, and very soon.

Making rash decisions based on emotion isn’t smart. People in the entertainment industry are no different than the rest of us, other than they have more money, and that’s all relative, because some people with more money are ALSO just getting by with more money, exactly as we are with less.

Everyone needs to calm the fuck down, & wait.

Let’s see where we go in the next 2-3 years, before condemning people who ALSO have to make a living; yes?

by Anonymousreply 10October 1, 2025 6:15 AM

WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE POOR CELEBRITIES!?!?!

by Anonymousreply 11October 1, 2025 6:17 AM

I didn't expect him to start talking politics. That's never been his brand. It would be nice if he spoke out, but he's aware that because his show is generally not political, he's amassed an audience of people who would leave if he changed its tune. He's unwilling to lose that obviously. Don't agree, but not surprising.

by Anonymousreply 12October 1, 2025 6:22 AM

He could show solidarity.

No. He's not a normal "celeb."

He is not a gig-to-gig working actor.

He doesn't do "a movie here and there," and/or "once had a tv show that was on for a few years back in the 00s."

He hosts a show other celebs go on to promote their projects. He's been working consistently for decades. The “mortgage and health insurance” argument doesn’t really hold when you’re worth tens of millions and have multiple income streams.

[quote]What if the entire world becomes more like America now, than the America that existed 20 years ago?

So the plan is to wait until the entire world goes backwards before anyone with influence says anything?

by Anonymousreply 14October 1, 2025 7:35 AM

Celebrities are NOT politicians.

Get a grip, bitches.

by Anonymousreply 15October 1, 2025 7:42 AM

We should think of the wealthy who choose to live above their means because they could lose everything too!

by Anonymousreply 16October 1, 2025 8:08 AM

He keeps his head up his ass.

by Anonymousreply 17October 1, 2025 8:19 AM

One of my favorite things about the Strike Force Five podcast, and the subsequent fraternal bond the hosts showed, is that they all treat Fallon like an idiot. The dynamic was always that of four really smart and talented people and an extra guy that could barely keep up. He always takes their jabs with his usual aw-shucks good nature, but I wonder if there isn't some part of him deep inside that's seething with resentment.

by Anonymousreply 18October 1, 2025 6:57 PM

R14 Exactly

by Anonymousreply 19October 1, 2025 7:47 PM

You know what I call him, DL...

by Anonymousreply 20October 1, 2025 7:57 PM

Don’t blame him…Would love it if he said adios to the Networks n just let rip with a show that enabled him to shed the ‘fake laugh goof persona.’ The guy’s a mega talent, still young and hopefully got years left to run…

by Anonymousreply 21October 1, 2025 8:07 PM

He helped dumpster fire to get elected by having him on the show. I used to like him, now I think he's just a skank. one of those men who was super cute and gains 5 pounds and is now revolting looking.......and an asshole besides.

by Anonymousreply 22October 1, 2025 11:43 PM

Drunk pussy.

by Anonymousreply 23October 1, 2025 11:57 PM

Geez Jimmy is a doll. Ease up.

I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.

I remember watching Taxi as a 13 year old and thinking that Jimmy Fallon was an obnoxious and unfunny fuckwit. I'm shocked that he's had this incredible talkshow career.

The episode where he bottoms for Latka while Louie jacks off in the corner is seared into my memory.

by Anonymousreply 35October 2, 2025 3:52 AM

There's a famous Russian comedian who used to say similar things. "I knwo where not to go and I just don't go there. I can be funny about other things." Then Putin declared war on the Ukraine, and the comedian packed his bags and emigrated to Israel. You never know where someone's bereaking point is.

by Anonymousreply 36October 2, 2025 7:48 AM

Sloppy drunk mess. Of course this weak pussy has nothing to say. He is nothing.
