Is the Democratic leadership really this stupid?
They want to eliminate the cuts to Medicaid the Republicans made earlier this year?
…so poor Trump voters or nonvoters don’t feel the pain the GOP is inflicting on them and continue to vote for them?
They need to be chased by a torch wielding mob, I’m sorry.

People who voted for Harris will feel pain too, OP.
Go fuck yourself.

The House of Representatives have the votes with a simple Repig majority. The impasse is in the Senate where the Repigs need 60 votes. The Dems, rightfully, won't support the bill.
OP: If the Dems vote to cut the ACA, the program will be gone forever. You cannot do that people. It's not only poor Trump voters who will suffer. The ACA serves more than just poor people. It helps the self-employed (plumbers, electricians, hairdressers, writers, gym instructors, etc., sole proprietorships and businesses with less than 50 people have access to health care.

“The people” put Republicans in charge of everything. They should reap the consequences of their vote.

R1 maybe they should have voted for them in greater numbers then.
Fuck you, you want to enable the Trump administration so the poor little Ohio diner cletuses can call Democrats liars and fear mongers because the THINGS WE WARN THAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM, NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPEN!

R3 THOSE ARE TWO SEPARATE THINGS
Democrats have continued to assert that their votes—which are needed to clear the Senate’s 60-vote threshold—are contingent on the bill including key health care provisions, particularly a permanent extension of enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits that have helped millions of middle-class families afford coverage. Without action, those subsidies will expire at year’s end, raising premiums just as Americans begin signing up for 2026 plans in November.
[bold]Democrats also want to reverse $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid that Republicans enacted unilaterally this summer, eliminate new work requirements for that program, block the White House from clawing back funds previously approved by Congress, and restore funding for medical research. But they have focused their demands on the ACA subsidies.[/bold]

Not stupid. Just blatantly serving the same wealthy corporates as the GOP. They've always been this way except now they can relax and be more obvious about it with their only opposition being "strongly worded" statements, speeches, or letters. For a long time, the Democratic members of congress have used more stealthy non-opposition tactics in order to help usher in horrible policies (like what we got with Obamacare instead of single-payer or universal healthcare). Also, all these supposed Dems voting yes to all the insanely incompetent administration puppets and toadies that Trump nominated for his admin cabinet positions. Very non-oppositional for a supposed "opposition party." With the GOP in full authoritarianism mode, they can now go along with all of it and just keep repeating "what do you expect us to do? We don't have the power to do anything." Convenient for them, isn't it? Collecting their outsized paychecks and doing absolutely nothing substantial to roll back the fascism. Such profiles in courage!
