My World and Welcome To It

One of the most forgotten TV sitcoms of all time. MWAWTI was based on James Thurber's cartoons and had an almost Blue's Clues type opening. It merits attention because it was a gigantic critical hit, won the Emmy for Best Comedy and Best Comedy Actor in William Windom and also co-starred DL Goddess Lisa Gerritson, pre-Bess MTM. It was very expensive to produce which is probably why it was axed but watching it today, it is oddly humorous and touching.

I think I was around 9 years old when this aired. I recall my mother liked this show a lot. I still remember the quirky vibe and subtle humor. It was obvious a quality program ahead of it's time. If it came out about 3-5 years later it probably would have connected with an audience.
