Any Spike Lee fans here? Highest To Lowest
The latest film - Highest To Lowest-
Critics per pretty kind so I was looking forward to this one.
HOLY FUCK.. I have never seen such horrendous acting and such a bad score in my life.
I am utterly flabbergasted at this one.
The chick who plays the wife and all of the actors playing cops are embarrassing- Some of the worst acting I have ever witnessed.
Jeffrey and Denzel do not fare much better.
This was an utter shock to me. It should have been a contender.

I am so dumb. Critics WERE kind--^^^
Also, the script was a fucking mess- the entire tone was from 3 different films.
Horrendous CGI/background and lighting in the balcony scenes between Denzel and the wife..
Just a jarringly awful film. Truthfully, I found Jeffrey awful as well, and I am a big fan.
The only actor who was good was Rocky- RHianna's hubby.

I find Spike Lee’s entire act to be nauseating, like Tom Haverford on Parks and Recreation.

For any Halloween fans, the scoring was akin to that ghastly score in Halloween H20- very lifetime TV movie- It almost sounded alike. Fucking bananas.
In the end- the acting, the emotion- especially after the key initial plot "event"- it was fucking WEIRD.
The opening song is next level cringe and I felt maybe Spike was making a point having music that was completely out of the place- some kind of cognitive/sonic/sensory fuck with our heads kind of thing. Maybe a spoof or some social commentary.
I cannot recommend this film enough if you want to see something that is so FUCKED up in execution- I am kind of shocked.

I think he said pretty much everything he had to say in "She's Gotta Have It" and "Do the Right Thing." Very few creators are worth following their entire careers.

It’s absolutely dreadful. Cheap looking, with bad green screen outside of Denzel’s high rise. I can’t believe it was shot by the great Matthew Libatique.
Denzel goes on these old man rants about how the internet is bad and the kids today don’t understand good music—did no one remember this is supposed to be a suspense thriller?
Old Man Denzel gets a foot chase scene at the climax and the cuts to his slim, much younger stunt double are hilarious.
