CNN Poll: Nearly 1-in-5 Americans identify as Dem Socialists, 1-in-5 ID as MAGA

More like 2 in 5 are MAGA (Trump's ever-reliable base of 40%). So 1 in 5 MAGA is lying. But that's how MAGAts roll.

Dem Socialists are cultists just like MAGAs.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 28, 2025 4:03 PM |
Democratic Socialists a cult? Hardly. They are nothing more than what New Deal/Traditional Democrats had been before Democrats turned neoliberal with Clinton in the 1990s and threw the Middle and Working Classes under the bus. Democrats now just look out for the economic welfare of the top 5%, while Republicans look out for the top 1%, as they always have. Who the hell is trying to look out for the welfare of that remaining 95% ? Trumplicans and MAGA? Sure, Jan. There’s a reason that Bernie, AOC, Mamdani, et al, are gaining traction. After 30 years+ of crony capitalism and a Second Gilded Age, this country needs a major reset before Fascism takes over. If Democrats had actually looked out for the welfare of that 95% all along,, we likely wouldn’t have seen the rise of Trump in the first place.

Yes, and not one of them shows up on election day and votes for the Democratic candidate.
They're going to be dancing in the streets with their magical savior Mamdani, then go right back to not voting at all, or only for kooky third-party frauds as usual.

R3, they’re Neo-commies. It’s performance art with them.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 28, 2025 7:31 PM |
I already feel like we are in a civil war. It’s MAGA vs. government, ethics and fairness for all. Americans are starving due to inflation and they don’t care. The Republicans are letting Trump ruin our country. His latest promise for a good economy is “in about a year.”

[quote]and threw the Middle and Working Classes under the bus
No one was thrown under the bus, they left the Democratic Party because they didn't want to share with black and brown people - and look at how that's worked out for them.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 28, 2025 7:37 PM |
Then why did the black and brown people also leave, r9?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 28, 2025 7:48 PM |
Jesus and/or misogyny, R10.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 28, 2025 7:51 PM |
I agree with r3. Clinton took the Democratic Party to the right when he won. Neoliberals/moderates/centrists, or whatever you call mainstream Democrats since then, have been slowly abandoning the middle and working class to help out corporations with enough opposition of the ever-increasingly far right Republicans to seem like opposition party. But people are realizing that they suck. We need the Democratic Party to go further left on socioeconomic issues and protect the average workers. Or create a new party and break away from the two party system.
