My dreams are never the kind where I'm flying or doing something magical and fun. They're just things that could happen in everyday life, maybe heightened.
What kinds of dreams do you have?

My bad dreams typically involve my being lost in what I had thought was a familiar environment.

I find it frustrating that I never have sexual dreams, maybe it is for the best because when I do dream about normal things, it like Murphy's Law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
One weird thing I only realized the last few years, in my dreams people don't have bodies unless they are needed for the dream, they are just floating heads when the dream is about having a conversation with someone and the head is all that is needed and it all seems normal during the dream. If during the dream things changes and a full body is needed for the dream the body will sudden appear in the dream and it all seems so normal that I never recognized that was what was happening most of my life.
OP when I was a kid, it was probably a just dream but I am not totally sure it was a dream, but as I was falling asleep I use to have the sensation that I could float above my body, it was kind of cool to be able to float around the room but eventually I would lose the ability to float and come crashing down violently into my body. The floating was cool but the crashing down was uncomfortable and I stopped doing it.

i was a slut who loved public cruising for a few decades. This morning I woke up in the middle of a dream which featured one of my regular hook-ups in local cruising areas, over 2 decades ago. We were always hot for each other and very uninhibited. IN the dream this morning I was with him but in recent years, and he was complaining about about how hard I was, and how much he desired me, and that he didn't think I really liked him, so I said I was sorry, I was in love with him, but we both had boyfriends, and I thought he liked me as a rough and exciting fuckbuddy, because he always seemed to have a good time and come back for more. And then I woke up.

Funny you posted that, r2. I had a graphic sexual dream last night about breaking in a virgin.
I have all sorts of dreams -- sexual, bizarre, scary, philosophical, fantastic, mundane. They sometimes involve a person I haven't thought about in waking life for years. They almost always contain one detail so strange that I don't include it when relaying my dreams to others. They almost always defy waking logic, but in a slightly different way each dream. I could list dozens of examples, but one that's stayed with me: I dreamt I learned about a shark that could see for three days. The metaphor made sense in the dream.
I also have a recurring dream that I am in a house. The details of the house often change, but the general premise does not: I keep trying to access floors that are higher and higher. I usually must do this through secret staircases or other furtive means of access. I always want to reach the top floor but am stopped before I get there. Usually, the rooms are nicer the higher I climb.
I love dreaming. I find it is one of life's great pleasures. It's like having one's own private movie screening every night.

Every dream I have is a nightmare, usually ending with my or someone else's death.

Most of my dreams consist of me trying to get somewhere and meeting all sorts of obstacles -- I can't find my keys, I get lost on the way, when I'm about to arrive the address has changed. Very frustrating. I wake up with relief that it was all a dream.

I lived in a very charming, but very small, studio apartment for 25 years. During that time I had MANY dreams about finding additional rooms / spaces connected to my apartment that it seemed my Landlord was unaware of and I would be able to secretly use.
Then I'd wake up.

My dreams lately involve me being back in London (a city that I left 14 years ago) and taking public transport. They are boring dreams.

I only remember my nightmares.

One of things I've always been curious about is the people who show up in your dreams that you've never met before in your life. Are they just made up creations from your brain or have you seen them somewhere before?
I also find it interesting that I've never once had a dream about my Mother, since she's died.

I also only remember “bad” dreams and not very often. Perhaps they are more likely to wake me up, or perhaps I don’t have any good dreams.

My dreams happen in more or less realistic settings but goofy things happen. For instance, I have recurring dreams in which instead of driving a normal car car I'm driving down the sidewalk in a sort of motorized version of an old fashioned child's toy wagon, thinking, what the hell am I doing in this thing? But I have to get to where I'm going.

I used to sleepwalk when I was a kid. I had a nightmare where I found myself trapped in the garage. I see my friend's mom (who I really liked) sitting on the hood of the car surrounded by little grey alien-type things with big heads. She says, "He's not ready" and they all disappear. I wake up and start yelling and pounding on the basement door. My Dad finally comes down and opens it up. "How'd you get in here?" I tell him I don't know and walk upstairs to bed. I didn't realize then that I dreamt the whole thing, including my dad opening the door and me heading back to bed.

I have the weirdest dreams that don't make any sense. This last week of dreams:
I went to some mansion for a major domo job interview. The lady of the house had lizards crawling all over her blouse.
I was walking in a park and some man walks up to me and says, "Watch this!", pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head.
I'm riding on a little kid tricycle, find a knife on the ground, and testing how sharp it is, cut slashes in my arm to the bone. I ride around on the tricycle trying to find a hospital even though I'm not bleeding.
I could go on about these nightly horrors. It must be the Quetiapine I take for sleep.

I dream of a world where everything is MINE and all bow before ME and acknowledge my stable genius. A world where I can grab women by the pussy, boast about it, and still get elected President. TWICE. A world where I can commit crimes and be declared untouchable. A world where my enemies are prosecuted and my friends rewarded.
Is that too much to ask?

The only thing notable is that I’m never home. An old vacation spot, a grandmothers home, a made up place, but never home.
I assume I’m not the alone in only remembering the ones that happened right before I wake up.

Sometimes I dream I’m back at college and can’t remember my class schedule. All my childhood furniture is in my dorm room and I worry about moving it when the semester is over.
Or I’ll dream I’m back at my grandmother’s home and it’s in ruin and I’m scared to go upstairs.

There was a time I didn't dream at all- maybe 3 decades or more. I have mild sleep apnea, so recently I tried one of those jaw slings to keep my jaw shut. And wouldn't you know, I started dreaming again. I love it, even the weird or disquieting ones. This morning's was pretty mundane- I was shopping for supplies for a new project for work (I'm a makeup artist), and I couldn't find a specific L'Oreal waterproof mascara with flexing fibers (I have no idea if they make one like that).
