Wayward on Netflix

Toni Collette playing a creepy cult like figure in a creepy New England town. Pretty good and getting weirder. Lead actor is a FTM but kind of cute.

Toni Collette is amazing in every role I've seen her do. If it's comedy, she's hilarious, if it's drama, she's compelling. I saw the previews for "Wayward" and she's already creeping me out to the point where I hesitate to watch. In the back of my mind, I always expect (and want) to see Muriel, but that lasts for a microsecond. Am currently visiting small towns in New England on a leaf peeping trip, which has been fun but disappointing in terms of foliage this year. New England is creepy to me starting when the light is low on the horizon in the afternoons. Will try to watch this from our hotel/creepy B and B rooms for the next week.

I'm on episode 2 and LOVING it so far. Not the same subject matter as Yellowjackets but very much the same energy. It has s really nice balance of mystery box creepiness and dark comedy.

Loving the Stacy character. Also loving the amazing 60s psych rock soundtrack.

And you're right about the FTM lead--I'm finding myself oddly attracted to him. That's definitely a first for me. I like how the show isn't obnoxious or preachy about his being trans.

R1 Fall foliage is early this year, you might have missed it at peak if you went to far northern New England. I'm calling it two weeks early as where I live it's best around Columbus Day and it's only October 1sth and the oranges are blazing. I'm a bit south of Lake Winnipesaukee.
