Morning Train, Sugar Walls, The Lover In Me... The hits were innumerable for this sultry Scots songstress. Pourquoi le lack of appreciation for the enduring SHEENA EASTON.... Well?
EASTONITES , UNITE, ASSEMBLE!

I always thought her brunette, ultra-short, close-cut hairstyle was brave, given the brassy, blonde sky-high big hair trend that dominated the early and mid-80s. She stood out, in a good way.
Decent singer, good pick of songs that suited her style. Did she really date Prince or was that just a rumor?

According to interviews she never dated Prince, though no doubt he tried his luck. Listening now to her standards album called No Strings, she sounds fantastic on her rendition of Someone To Watch Over Me.

Didn't mind listening to her music on the radio in the car, but never tempted to buy her albums.

As long as she sang in a safe, mid range, she was fine. But some of her ballads were ear-piercingly painful.
You should have beeeeeeen with me. Ugh.

R1, the big hair came later. Pat Benatar had a similar look, even ONJ had an early 80s short haircut. New Wave was peaking in the early 80s and had a huge impact on fashion.

r6 What's the timestamp - that video is too tedious to watch the whole thing

r7 at 2:30 she talks about women and feminism, with a strong American accent to my ears. What happened to the Scottish brogue?

Interviewed just a few months ago, about her life and career. Looks good for 66! Again, strong American accent with only a hint of her old accent.
