I bet that no can find even 1 single flaw on it...
Was there ever a better-looking and more perfect FACE than Gene Tierney's in her prime?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | October 2, 2025 11:07 PM |
I always thought she was pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 26, 2025 10:32 PM |
The underbite could be distracting, but when that wasn't apparent she was very pretty!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 26, 2025 10:39 PM |
OP, I agree. Gene Tierney was a phenomenally beautiful woman. And so much more interesting to look at than boring Grace Kelly, with whom she's so often compared. Her full mouth with the overbite made her beauty unique.
Later in life, she showed great courage in publicly discussing her mental illness. She did do without sensationalism or fanfare--just explaining it with dignity. A great beauty and woman.

*** TYPO...
I bet that no ONE can find even 1 single flaw on it...
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 26, 2025 10:45 PM |
Yeah, trouble is she was a shitty actress.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 26, 2025 11:31 PM |
R5, how so?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 27, 2025 12:11 AM |
R2 The opposite. She had a prominent overbite.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 27, 2025 12:44 AM |
Yes.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 27, 2025 12:53 AM |
R5, she was nominated for an Oscar for Leave Her To Heaven
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 27, 2025 2:47 AM |
I can't tell her apart from Ava Gardner and Lana Turner. Most of those beautiful 40s women looked alike
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 27, 2025 4:15 AM |
Hedy Lamar
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 27, 2025 6:41 AM |
She had beautiful deep-set eyes. So many current stars have had plastic surgery to change their deep-set eyes and it always ruins their faces.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 27, 2025 6:47 AM |
Did she have any flaws aside from her teeth?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 27, 2025 9:16 PM |
She's okay, but she's no Sarah Huckabee Sanders
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 27, 2025 9:19 PM |
Dollface
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 28, 2025 12:48 AM |
Beautiful woman with real presence onscreen.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 28, 2025 12:51 AM |
So gorgeous in Leave Her To Heaven I gay gasp every time they show her
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 28, 2025 12:54 AM |
Very photogenic.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 28, 2025 2:10 AM |
Absolutely loved her in Leave her to Heaven and Laura. The clothes she wore in both films were phenomenal!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 28, 2025 3:03 AM |
R12 Are deep set eyes no longer considered attractive?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 28, 2025 3:04 AM |
Hedy Lamar, Gene Tierney and long-haired Ava Gardner were indistinguishable when, in the 40s, all three wore the same hair style. You had to look closely; regardless all three were gorgeous. Tierney's rubella incident was heartbreaking and could easily push someone over the edge. I can't imagine a more insensitive act than to go out among crowds with that illness.
Yet, people still do it to this day.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 28, 2025 3:36 AM |
She had a face made for hats.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 28, 2025 3:43 AM |
I prefer Hedy Lamarr. Or Ava Gardner. Gene Tierney always seemed cold.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 28, 2025 3:50 AM |
Although I did love her in Leave Her to Heaven and Laura.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 28, 2025 3:51 AM |
What year did short hair first become fashionable for women?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 28, 2025 3:57 AM |
R10 Really? Lana was a blonde.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 28, 2025 4:15 AM |
R21 They were not indistinguishable.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 28, 2025 4:17 AM |
R25 I think Audrey Hepburn.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 28, 2025 5:12 AM |
R23 Ava Gardner was stunning.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 28, 2025 5:15 AM |
Why did Ava marry Mickey Rooney? Sinatra, yeah I get that more.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 28, 2025 5:22 AM |
Which face shape did she have?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 28, 2025 5:35 PM |
R30 I read her autobiography (highly recommend if you're an Ava fan) from what I remember, she was young, naive and mesmerized by Rooney’s star power. I don’t think she realized how gorgeous she was when she first came to Hollywood.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 28, 2025 10:49 PM |
Gene Tierney was "unquestionably the most beautiful woman in movie history."
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 28, 2025 11:18 PM |
Was Gene ever self conscious of her looks?
If so, what was she insecure about?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 28, 2025 11:29 PM |
Didn't she date JFK for a short time?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 29, 2025 2:46 AM |
[quote] Gene Tierney was "unquestionably the most beautiful woman in movie history."
After Vivien Leigh of course.
There was always a slight hardness in Gene’s face. Beautiful, but a bit stony.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 29, 2025 3:14 AM |
Why did she spell her name the man's way? I know she was named after an uncle, but you'd think she could have changed it to Jean when she went to Hollywood.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 29, 2025 1:41 PM |
She was beautiful but she did not have deep set eyes. Sharon Tate had deep set eyes. Gene had hooded eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 29, 2025 1:44 PM |
R37 For what reason?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 29, 2025 2:55 PM |
I liked her VOICE. Like most stars of those days, it was distinctive, and unique. As an actress she was somewhat weak, and as a beauty, she was up there with the best, though not THE best, in my opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 29, 2025 2:59 PM |
I think Hedy Lamarr was way more beautiful than Vivien Leigh. I never liked Vivien Leigh's nose.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 29, 2025 3:16 PM |
Ava Gardner, Lamarr, and Elizabeth Taylor were the most beautiful brunettes, for me.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 29, 2025 3:30 PM |
I'd also add Jean Simmons. Today's stars don't seem to measure up.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 29, 2025 3:36 PM |
R41, what don't you like about Vivien Leigh's nose?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 29, 2025 6:22 PM |
She had the most perfect face in the history of Hollywood. The closest we have now may be Margot Robbie.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 29, 2025 6:35 PM |
She was the most beautiful woman in films, ever.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 29, 2025 6:37 PM |
More of her smiling. She should have been like Posh Spice and kept it to herself.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 29, 2025 8:36 PM |
Gene Tierney has a terrible smile. Her teef! Her teef!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 29, 2025 8:52 PM |
R48, R49 and R50 ...and she was still the most beautiful woman in the world.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 29, 2025 9:00 PM |
[Quote] [R41], what don't you like about Vivien Leigh's nose?
It was positively full of boogers. I mean, she had to breathe through her mouth, and you could actually see the boogers hanging out of her nostrils.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 29, 2025 9:21 PM |
R44, she just seemed really snotty...
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 29, 2025 10:27 PM |
R53 The nose seemed snotty?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 29, 2025 10:48 PM |
Eyes were perfect
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 30, 2025 8:41 PM |
Gene was a bitch and I’m the dame to prove it.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 30, 2025 8:47 PM |
Why didn't Gene like Grace Kelly? I remember she dissed her in her autobiography.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 30, 2025 8:56 PM |
R57- Oh, how interesting. I'm off to Google this!
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 30, 2025 9:00 PM |
R57 Because she was boffing Oleg Cassini.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 30, 2025 9:11 PM |
R59- Thank you! I couldn't find anything when I Googled it, but I believe you nailed it .
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 30, 2025 9:58 PM |
[quote]Because she was boffing Oleg Cassini.
But so was Rock Hudson.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 30, 2025 11:55 PM |
R61, where'd you hear that?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 1, 2025 12:00 AM |
Gene Tierney had wide-set eyes, similar to those of Jacqueline Kennedy.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 1, 2025 12:02 AM |
Everybody knows that when Oleg was through using Rock that a despondent Rock fled into the arms of Jim Nabors.
Christ, didn’t you learn anything in Fourth Grade?
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 1, 2025 12:08 AM |
Rock Pyle.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 1, 2025 12:10 AM |
Was she gay friendly?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 1, 2025 2:14 AM |
I think Audrey Hepburn was beautiful. Her face makes me smile.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 1, 2025 3:45 AM |
Charlize should be in the top ten.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | October 1, 2025 3:53 AM |
R63 And they both went to Miss Porter's School.
I don't think Gene's eyes look wide-set. Jackie's on the other hand...
I don't find that attractive, which is why I never thought her son was handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 1, 2025 3:56 AM |
R69- You mean an EMBRYO in the WOMB look.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 1, 2025 3:58 AM |
still with this we're talking???
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 1, 2025 3:01 PM |
[quote] Was she gay friendly?
Well, her husband was bi.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 1, 2025 3:04 PM |
She was a favorite of my mom when Mom was a teenager. I think she must've gone to a Fox theater because almost all her faves from that period were Fox stars.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 1, 2025 4:08 PM |
I thought she was pretty inadequate in The Razor's Edge. In fact she kind of ruined it for me. It would have been a better fit for Jennifer Jones, I think (and the part of Larry would have fit Montgomery Clift better than it did Tyrone Power).
by Anonymous | reply 74 | October 1, 2025 4:10 PM |
She was LETTER PERFECT in The Razor's Edge. 'Nuff said.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | October 1, 2025 4:55 PM |
R51 Gene was the most beautiful woman in the world… until Marilyn came along.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | October 1, 2025 5:49 PM |
That is a spectacular photo of MM.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | October 1, 2025 6:30 PM |
Which roles did Gene not get that she wanted?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | October 1, 2025 10:40 PM |
Beautiful cupid's bow lips.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | October 1, 2025 10:49 PM |
I always hated her name
by Anonymous | reply 80 | October 1, 2025 11:54 PM |
Plus you could open a Coke bottle with her teeth.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | October 2, 2025 12:56 AM |
I loved that she played a villain in Leave Her to Heaven.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | October 2, 2025 2:30 AM |
Well that proves it, R9!
by Anonymous | reply 83 | October 2, 2025 2:58 AM |
She wasn't natural enough. I never cared for her. She seemed like a cold, mannequin like person. Stiff.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | October 2, 2025 6:16 PM |
R84, who was more appealing to you?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | October 2, 2025 6:19 PM |
Her Ellen Berent is one of the greatest villains in movie history, plus the movie is simply outstanding.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | October 2, 2025 6:50 PM |
Ellen Berent should be a DL icon
by Anonymous | reply 87 | October 2, 2025 6:55 PM |
[quote] She seemed like a cold, mannequin like person. Stiff.
I hate that in a person.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | October 2, 2025 8:37 PM |
DL declares you MUST love Gene Tierney.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | October 2, 2025 9:21 PM |
R85, Ava Gardner
by Anonymous | reply 90 | October 2, 2025 10:52 PM |
Vera Hruba Ralston.
