Is there an iconic bar, restaurant, building, place in your area that you've never been to?

Why have you never gone? Too touristy? Never had the opportunity?

I’ve lived in LA for years and have never been to a lot of the famous places: Dan Tana’s, Musso & Frank’s Grill, Nobu, Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles

I liked Musso’s. 40+ years ago. It still looks good in Bosch episodes. And that show with Michael Douglas as an acting coach.

Is there anything iconic in Pittsburgh in the 21st century? Most such places have been dead for decades.

by Anonymousreply 3September 26, 2025 7:10 PM

I've never been to the Dick Dock in Provincetown. I guess that's iconic.

by Anonymousreply 4September 26, 2025 7:16 PM

R3, I grew up in Pittsburgh and never once rode the Incline.

by Anonymousreply 5September 26, 2025 7:17 PM

Grew up in Flawduh. Never set foot in the so called Magic Kingdom.

by Anonymousreply 6September 26, 2025 7:51 PM

I've been on the incline twice, r5, neither time of my own volition.

The Stinking Rose in San Francisco. I work 2 minutes from it and have never had a desire to go.

by Anonymousreply 8September 26, 2025 8:03 PM

I never ate at the restaurant on top of the Space Needle. I believe it's just a bar with appetizers now so I missed my chance.

I grew up in the Boston area (24 years) before moving to SF. Moved back in 2016. Never been to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.

by Anonymousreply 11September 26, 2025 8:59 PM

NYC here. Never been to Yankee Stadium.

(Dad did drag me to Shea Stadium 60+ years ago. Hated it.)

Cafe Milano and Butterworth's: two "hot" DC spots that crawl with the worst of the worst in politics.

by Anonymousreply 13September 26, 2025 9:22 PM

Lived in Southern California over 50 years and never once set foot on Catalina.

by Anonymousreply 14September 26, 2025 9:36 PM

R14 = Natalie Wood Wagner

by Anonymousreply 15September 26, 2025 9:38 PM

Live SF, never been to Muir Woods, whatever they're just trees.

by Anonymousreply 16September 26, 2025 9:42 PM

I have lived in Atlanta for 72 years and there are many historical buildings I've never been to. Just to name a few, Rhodes Hall, The Flatiron Building (aka The English-American Building), the Candler Building, The Tabernacle, and lots more.

by Anonymousreply 20September 26, 2025 10:17 PM

All of them.

Canlis in Seattle. I think the views would be incredible, but the food maybe a little too fussy? Confit, bouillabaisse, or cassoulet at Cafe Campagne would be more to my liking.

by Anonymousreply 23September 27, 2025 1:25 AM

The Chart Room

View, shmew. I ain’t paying tourist prices for shitty French fries in an Adirondack chair.

by Anonymousreply 24September 27, 2025 3:46 AM

I've never been to Pink's.

by Anonymousreply 25September 27, 2025 3:00 PM

I think it's the only restaurant in Seattle with a dress code, r23. I'm also not in a hurry to go there. The owners recently got caught stealing tips.

by Anonymousreply 26September 27, 2025 11:42 PM

I saw this at the bottom of Canlis' menu page, r26:

[quote]A 20% service charge will be added to your final bill. [bold]100% of this service charge is retained by Canlis.[/bold]

by Anonymousreply 27September 28, 2025 4:01 AM

No, there isn't.

by Anonymousreply 28September 28, 2025 4:12 AM

Memphis here, and I’ve never been to Graceland. It seems so tacky.

by Anonymousreply 29September 28, 2025 5:15 AM

I have seen it but never been to the Tavern on the Green in Central Park New York

by Anonymousreply 30September 28, 2025 5:25 AM

Fraser’s Seattle has plenty of restaurants with dress codes lol

by Anonymousreply 31September 28, 2025 5:41 AM

LoL :)

by Anonymousreply 32September 28, 2025 6:30 AM
