Comedians I never found funny

I'll second your list OP, with the exception of George Carlin. The others don't deserve the career they have.

I'm too American to get Billy Connolly as a standup (and the accent barrier is a problem) but he was very good in "Mrs. Brown" and a BBC TV version of "Androcles and the Lion" I saw him in. The other conedians you mention I'm not a fan of at all.

I'd call the OP ridiculous but I agree with all but one of the people in her list.

However, in R4 we all can see that she is a little rattled by preparing her tome and can't be bothered to read her responses.

Sandra Bernhard's comedy is niche, and very much geared towards intelligent, wealthy people. I find her hilarious.

Some of Sandra's older material is funny. I like Jerry Seinfeld, but I think Larry David made him funny. I love Gervais and Carlin {RIP}. Shumer, DeGenerate and ODonnell are terrible and I've always hated all three.

I find several comedians on OP's list amusing, but mostly not LOL funny. I think there's a distinction.

Billy Connolly had a (HBO?) special probably 20 years ago that had me rolling on the floor laughing.

Carlin was a genius.

May I add Hannah Einbinder to the list. She’s good on Hacks but I tried to watch her standup special and it was bad.

Leanne Morgan can be very good but a little cornpone goes a long way. Also, I lived in her part of TN for years and no one talks like that.

Op are you talking exclusively stand up, or each entertainers body of work in general. Martin Lawrence and George Carlin are hilarious in standup. I’ve never seen Carlin in movies or anything. Don’t find Ellen’s standup funny but she can be funny hosting duties or on shows.

I completely concur with you about Steve Harvey.

Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom ever and I find his standup bits on there funny. I think I might actually check out his full length standup. I love Jerry.

My parents loved Seinfeld and watched him daily on one of those syndication stations. I took them to see his stand up when he was performing nearby and it was horrible, not even a little funny. They were crushed. Without Larry David I don't believe he'd have had much of a career at all.

Sandra Bernhard is probably my favorite comedian.

R26 is in for a rude awakening. Seinfeld was Larry David.

The only stand-up comedian I've ever enjoyed is John Mulaney, less so since everything went wrong.

Robin Williams. I loved his stand up and movies. I always thought he was hilarious and brilliant but some people found him annoying and unfunny.

R26 I thought everyone was funny on Seinfeld except for Jerry. I also find him smug.

People like Bob Saget(rip) and those Full House cunts. Never found them funny. Hated the show. Standup sucks.

R37 Jerry could be funny on Seinfeld, just a lot of the episodes require him to be the straight man to George and Elaine’s chaos. Albeit he is playing the straight man as a somewhat neurotic Jew New Yorker. I think there is a term for it actually.

With that said, I adore Kathleen Madigan and have never laughed so hard as when I've seen her live.
