Sorry, I don't belong here but I just want to hear what you guys have to say about these two.
Tasteful Friends: Cleveland - Which house would you pick?

Miss Thing is wearing A Look! I would’ve gone with the yellow house but cheers to the happy, and very intense, couple!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 26, 2025 2:27 PM |
I think the guy on the left is the cookie lover.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 26, 2025 2:28 PM |
Miss Riddle must be hung like a horse to have landed that much better looking guy
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 26, 2025 2:45 PM |
Ed has his arm around Will but I don't see a reciprocal arm around Ed. 😂
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 26, 2025 2:48 PM |
The house they chose makes sense at the price they paid. I liked it the best.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 26, 2025 3:03 PM |
the guy on the right looks like Paul Rudd

Good lord, Why?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 26, 2025 3:10 PM |
Something about Will screams high maintenance to me. But their house looks great. It's amazing what you can get in cities like Cleveland.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 26, 2025 3:39 PM |
I know Ed very well. He's a tireless advocate for protecting rights for gay people in Ohio. They really are a great couple and deserve all good things. Ohio City, on the near West Side, is filled with houses like these.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 26, 2025 4:25 PM |
I would have picked the yellow house, but the price of the first one will give them money to renovate.
They look refreshingly normal. That's a good thing.
I have to question the decision to paint the house black. That seems like a really bad idea, but to each his own. It seems at odds with the style of the house.
What's with the mini house immediately adjacent to the yellow house?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 26, 2025 4:41 PM |
My God the guy on the left looks Ike the new twink troll too!! Why are these proliferating? Why are they pictured here? Am I being driven insane?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 27, 2025 12:53 AM |
I like Cleveland. And Ohio City is a decent area. Good for them. Accepting life doesn’t have to be loved in a big city. There are lots of smaller, decent, affordable cities in the US. Cleveland is one of the better ones IMO.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 27, 2025 1:05 AM |
The guy on the left looks odd.
Like serial killer odd.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 27, 2025 1:16 AM |
I like the yellow one.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 27, 2025 1:20 AM |
Why live in MAGA Ohio?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 27, 2025 1:26 AM |
I can’t get past how good-looking the guy on the right is as opposed to the guy on the left who is distinctly unattractive.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 27, 2025 2:09 AM |
I prefer the staircases in the second and third houses, but whatever.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 27, 2025 2:12 AM |
[quote]Why live in MAGA Ohio?
Cleveland is solid blue with no Republican remotely holding any office, nor having the temerity to run for one.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 27, 2025 3:17 AM |
Please guy on the left don't read this but you look like James Holmes in this picture.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 27, 2025 3:28 AM |
The tall one looks like he's about to tell me to put the lotion in the fucking basket.......
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 27, 2025 3:37 AM |
I don't feel comfortable making fun of two happily married gay men, just trying to live their lives, while making a charming house a home. However, I can't believe that the NYT is now stealing House Hunters' shtick.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 27, 2025 3:46 AM |
I’m going to need to see them both naked before I can decide which house best suits them.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 27, 2025 3:49 AM |
It's funny that r8 said that the guy on the right looked like Paul Rudd because that was my exact thought when I saw his picture.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 27, 2025 5:29 AM |
Beautiful old home; I initially liked the yellow one better at at first until I looked at all the pictures & then it just seemed...a bit much. That area is right on the lake, so I hope they're also investing insulating the place or they're going to freeze their asses off
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 27, 2025 10:58 AM |
[quote] I can't believe that the NYT is now stealing House Hunters' shtick.
The Times has been doing this for years. They tend to focus on people looking for a place in NYC (who often seem like trust fund babies) but they also randomly pick people from around the country.

It's safe to infer that Will is the one who had the $500K
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 27, 2025 7:43 PM |
The guy on the right is cute. Looks like he's low key but an animal in the bedroom.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 27, 2025 8:20 PM |
I prefer the yellow house on the interior but the first house looks nicer at least from the front. Third house is too bland.
They seem like a nice enough couple, but why paint that house black? I'm with R12, its all wrong for that house, and the first thing I'd do is change it back
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 27, 2025 8:24 PM |
[quote]It's safe to infer that Will is the one who had the $500K
No it's not safe. According to the article, Will sold his previous house for $324K and Ed sold his previous house for $385K.

I don't like Victorians and the old lighting fixtures. Just feels like you're pushed to a more period vibe when you own one. And lord knows what problems are going to come with those houses behind the walls.
But good for them - if they like it, fine with me. They look young enough to take on the renovations that are badly needed in that home. I've done enough in a lifetime - I'm not going through that again.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 28, 2025 6:46 PM |
O o O HI O
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 28, 2025 7:27 PM |
For Cleveland they are both hot. Good for them. Seems like a good - and affordable - life near family and in a relatively liberal city in a purplish state. It’s not that horrible - much much better than Dallas IMO.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 28, 2025 7:31 PM |
I don’t get why a couple would want such a huge house. Isn’t it a nightmare to clean, repair, maintain a house that size? And expensive af? It seems like once you own a house that large, the house owns you.
I had a few friends way back when who ended up buying their first homes at the same time. All of a sudden, they talked about nothing but contractors and Home Depot. Boring.

R35, De gustibus non est disputandum.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 28, 2025 10:58 PM |
R35 - because it's a young person's dream. They'll feel like they've made it. Then the problems happen and the endless cost. And the bedrooms that nobody uses.
The shine will wear off within a few months because they def have a lot of modernization and updates to do.
Here's the thing that nobody talks about - so many relationships break over home renovations and money. Look it up. Nobody does this often enough to be skilled and knowledgeable about what needs to be done and how long it will take.
People get divorced over this shit - seriously.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 28, 2025 11:11 PM |
Do people generally know when they’re the ugly one in the relationship?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 29, 2025 12:10 AM |
R38
Yeah, I know I'm the "ugly" one. I'm amused when people ignore me and direct all their attention to my good looking boyfriend. He, however, is not amused when it happens, and those people that ignore me are generally puzzled when he doesn't return their attention.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 29, 2025 12:22 AM |
Does this happen often, r39?

I thought that was the underlying theme of AHS: Murder House. You own the house, but then the house owns you. You can't escape - not because of ghouls - but because of the debt and the personal/financial sunk costs of the whole thing
That said, i hope these two crazy kids make it; they seem (mostly) sensible and not too precious
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 29, 2025 8:42 AM |
The one on the right struggles to keep his weight down.
There are other photos of him online with additional chins.

As a childless gay couple we figured we needed a guest bedroom, an office/library, a TV room, in addition to the essentials. plus 2 1/2 bathrooms.
way too much in the long run.

by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 29, 2025 10:38 AM |
Im surrounded by empty nesters living in 6,000 square foot houses. These are not “huge” houses. Yes - we are spoiled in the US with house size. But old Cleveland houses are small compared to most new construction single family homes.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 29, 2025 1:04 PM |
R40
Yes, because we live in an area with a large concentration of gay men.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 29, 2025 1:08 PM |
R35. Husband and I have a 3000 sq ft late Victorian. Just enough house for us (separate bathrooms!), though the yard is now too large, though it was a selling point 30 years ago when we bought. And separate offices/studies are nice, too!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 29, 2025 1:26 PM |
Glen I’ll would have been too spec an area for them. Its near a lot and the house is in a fairly well preserved section that’s near a the Cultural Gardens ( a unique part) and not far from CaseWestern and the art museum. Ohio City has had a long slow path toward gentrification and although a lot of gays live there, the area has more of a hipster vibe. I would have expected an established gay to live in the Edgewater neighborhood or older suburbs like Lakewood or Cleveland Heights.

My 1st true love ,god rest his soul, was a 6 on his absolute best day and he knew it. I was the pretty one and I knew it. Once I saw how big his heart was and how pure his love was none of that mattered anymore . I totally get this pairing and I wish them the best. Dont like the house they chose though. Didnt like any of them. Their heating bills are going to be astronomical.

r42, you're being kind.
