I heard about this film a lot growing up because my mother liked it (she grew up in a very similar situation with an extremely abusive father and related), but I never watched it. I finally checked it off my list over the weekend and was very impressed. It is not a perfect film, but Farrah's acting is very nuanced and believable. There are scenes throughout that still feel raw and disturbing even by today's standards. It seems the film was a sensation when it was first released. Do we think it's (possibly) Farrah's best work?
Farrah Fawcett's performance in "The Burning Bed" (1984)

Smiling and flinging her hair around was her best performance.
