Earlier today, I was Googling this and it says he's not doing chemo anymore. But now I can't find that story. He was diagnosed in the summer of '23. He announced it in November of '24 because some rag was going to blow his cover. He looked *really* bad at the reunion today but if you look on his IG, he posted about the flooding in Texas in July and looked a lot healthier just 2 months ago- a lot fuller in the face, not the wasting we're seeing now. Really hoping he pulls through......

The worst thing is that he has six young children and a wife who doesn't work - they moved to Texas out of LA in 2020 because he's not mega-wealthy so Texas would be a little financially better for them.

And then terminal cancer happened. It's awful. The wife and kids are going to be scrambling after he's gone, of course he has a few million $$$ but that's not enough for her and the six kids to live the lifestyle (which is even now limited) for the next however many years.

A horrible situation.

Stage 3 colorectal is no picnic, but even Stage 4 is often long-term survivable now with chemo and immunotherapy. Even if it's spread to the liver (which it often does), many people keep on trucking. Sharon Osbourne was stage 3 20 years ago, and she's still here to bedevil DL.

I suspect he did not do chemo and tried to treat this "naturally." It's never been officially announced that he was on chemo or immunotherapy — the initial news stories were very cagey about his next steps after diagnosis.

I don't want to be doom and gloom but JVDB certainly looked very ill in that video clip they played. He said two stomach viruses prevented him from going, but I suspect he's feeling very weak as well.

My father had stage 4 colorectal cancer and he felt almost constantly nauseous. Not just from the chemo, but in general. It meant he struggled to eat most foods, so he lost weight fast as a result (and he was never overweight to begin with). This meant he could barely walk anywhere without help and he got tired very easily.

That video reminded me of how he was in the final months before he died. Skinny, drawn face, wearing hats because he felt so cold from the weight loss, etc.

I hope I'm wrong and that JVDB is just going through tough treatment that's working.
