What do you suggest?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 23, 2025 8:34 PM |
Maybe Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-Vichy) will consider writing a strongly worded letter.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 23, 2025 8:38 PM |
expect nothing but Tokyo Rose style rhetoric from OP, r1
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 23, 2025 8:41 PM |
What I suggest is let the government shutdown and blame the actual administration who has hijacked control of the judicial and legislative branches. Blame them! Shout it from the rooftops!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 23, 2025 8:48 PM |
Trump is chicken! I double dog dare that wise guy to think twice about giving me the business! Why I oughtta!

OP licks orange buttholes.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 23, 2025 8:57 PM |
R6 No, I’m driving the point home that Schumer and Jeffries are not up to the task of taking on the orange shit stain.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 23, 2025 9:02 PM |
R4 The White House has a much bigger microphone
(and, a [italic] much[/italic] smaller dick than anyone else involved).
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 23, 2025 9:05 PM |
R8 then why is Gavin Newsom more successful at messaging?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 23, 2025 9:30 PM |
He’s definitely better than most, but his primary viewership already swings left - and he only gets a few minutes of airtime per week (unlike the dicklette who shall not be named).
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 23, 2025 11:08 PM |
Normally, the White House does have the biggest megaphone, but the media loves a fight. Give them one. Announce very clearly and without all the hemming and hawing and I'm about to back down bullshit that these assholes specialize in. Just announce that you will not settle for a big bag of nothing that Trump and the whores in the Republican controlled Congress want to give you. These are your demands, as Democratic Senators whose votes are needed, and if they are not met or they are blown off, yes, cunts, there will indeed be a government shutdown. Suck it, fuck it, and deal with the shit. Yes everyone will shriek and howl and sob and first, How Dare Democrats give a shit about anything, but eventually real negotiations will begin.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 23, 2025 11:33 PM |
I'm sick of "Spaz-Hands" Jeffries.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 23, 2025 11:42 PM |
And first of all, stop imagining a world in which most people see the cuntocracy that is the Trump clown car as anything serious, or intelligent, or honest or anything else. Because I know what the jackasses in the media will say. Oh noes, the Democrats will be seen as "disruptors" and people who refuse to go along with the nonexistent process. Fuck that noise and fuck that nonsense. Tell Trump to fuck off until he has a serious negotiating position. Nobody thinks he's some wise leader who just wants what is best for the country. NOBODY. Stop pretending it's the faraway time when the president was assumed to be a serious person with serious policy prescriptions. Tell him to fuck off until he agrees to do a few things, and then make those things serious and popular. It ain't that hard.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 23, 2025 11:43 PM |
Jeffries is a useless opportunist who gets more money from more lobbies than practically anyone in Congress, including $1.7 million from Israel.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 23, 2025 11:47 PM |
So Jeffries and Schumer considered this "a high stakes meeting" but were apparently alone in thinking it such. They have got to know how ineffectual they are being.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 23, 2025 11:55 PM |
yeah, they really need to get a fucking clue r15. On one of the Sunday shows, CNN I think, Schumer was asked about a thousand times what he'd do if Trump didn't actually meet with him or blew him off, and the old feebtard just couldn't bring himself to say, yeah, there will be a shutdown if they refuse to work with us. Fucking say it, bitch!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 23, 2025 11:59 PM |
R16 they can read neither the room nor the tea leaves it would seem. I know there are plenty of senators and representatives, past and present, who never set anything on fire, but could these two rise to the occasion even once?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 24, 2025 12:11 AM |
Yup r17, and I think they think they're being clever, and not getting nailed down, and keeping options on the table and all that shit. But NOOO! They are just looking like feckless assholes who don't know what the hell they are talking about and don't give a damn about anything and really, just sound like fools. They need to get that, quickly, and stop with all the useless, inane, dicking around. State the threat clearly, and then stick to the threat. If it's a government shutdown cause Trump is being his usual cunt self, well, state clearly why it happened and go from there.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 24, 2025 12:15 AM |
Did they even check the Fox program guide against the time of this high stakes meeting? Knowing he would cancel on them if it conflicted with his shows
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 24, 2025 12:21 AM |
The Dems have no power right now.
The only thing they can do is shut down the government.
But this time, the Dems should own it. “We stopping fascism!”
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 24, 2025 12:32 AM |
The Dems need to show some balls.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 24, 2025 12:32 AM |

Pathetic Pussycrats
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 24, 2025 1:07 AM |
Schumer was announced at the opening night for "Kavalier and Clay" at the Metropolitan Opera, and apparently he got the reception he truly deserved. Boos and catcalls galore.
Everybody keeps telling him he's a spineless gimp, and he doesn't seem to understand why they hate him so much.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 24, 2025 1:21 AM |
No r22, people are frustrated by all the hesitation and the absolute terror of fighting against fascism. They are sick of the bullshit and the need to always run scared. That's what they are sick of. They are dying for Democrats to actually look like they give a shit and aren't just going through the same old stale motions.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 24, 2025 1:35 AM |
Per David Pakman:
I hate to admit it, but we may lose again and AGAIN AND AGAIN
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 24, 2025 1:41 AM |
Go low, Chuck. What have you got to lose?
Tell that gelded orange bull in his fake gilded china shop that since he's the one who broke the government, he now owns it.
Call it "The Bull In The China Shop Shutdown."
You're welcome.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 24, 2025 1:44 AM |
Well I do agree with David Pakman that Democrats can't just win arguments online. They have to do actual things. And a government shutdown, sticking that oar in the gears, would actually be something real. We can then have the argument about what kind of government we actually want, and how the Trump Cult opposes every single element of real government, and for once people would actually be paying attention. If it's just argue and then cave, you may as well be doing jerkoff motions while pretending to state your boundaries and your principles. Nobody gives a shit. Stop the machine and suddenly people are actually paying attention. Yes, it will take some determination and some courage. But the alternative is literally nothing at all, just doing nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 24, 2025 1:53 AM |
They are completely dickless.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 24, 2025 1:59 AM |
Even Kamala on Rachel last night said this budget mess is “all on the Republicans.” Schumer and Jeffries haven’t a clue.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 24, 2025 2:30 AM |
The more I see of Hakeem Jeffries lately, and observe his words and actions, the more I find myself questioning Nancy Pelosi's judgment grooming him as her Democratic successor. And I was a longtime San Franciscan, 1994 -- 2020, who voted for Pelosi numerous times to re-elect her to the House.
As for Chuck Schumer, he is legislating from a 20th century playbook and we're paying the consequences for it. Schumer needs to be primaried in 2028, same for the Mamdani-smearing Bibi-bootlicking Gillibrand in 2030. We need fighters, and New York has plenty better to offer than these two complacent hacks.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 24, 2025 5:17 AM |
Both Schumer and Jeffries are woeful. Pathetic. They have to go. They are doing so much damage to the Democratic Party.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 24, 2025 1:19 PM |
Yeah, they suck. We don't need appeasement and inaction, we need aggression, like Newsom.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 24, 2025 1:51 PM |
and I think they think they're being clever, and not getting nailed down, and keeping options on the table and all that shit
Are you joking? These are the democrats. They are not clever. They are beyond weak & completely useless. Their entire strategy for everything is to sit back, cross their fingers and hope things work out. Each election, they cross their fingers & hope there is a bigger turn out than ever before. That is it. They do nothing to try and get actual American voters. Stacy Abrahams did lots of work from 2016 to 2021 - ALL ON HER OWN. It was effective. Do you think Biden and the democratic party would have started a grass roots effort, very similar to hers, in each state to get more new voters? NO. They did nothing. The entire democratic platform for the past 12 years has been, "we're not the republicans".
While they were sitting back with their fingers crossed, the republicans developed an entire nationwide group of really effective influencers (charlie kirk, candace owens and probably 6 other people) that have been going to college campuses for 8 years and speaking (lying) and signing up voters. That's why trump won (plus the democrats really fucked up the platform & the pro-crime, Pro-Mexican/trans foolishness.
The democratic politicians just want a 9 -5 job. They can't even be bothered to fight for their own jobs. During the past 6 months, there has been lots of things they could have done politically to fight back, but didn't do a fucking thing. Each week, Adam Kinzinger has videos saying, "the democrats should be doing this and should be doing that". And they don't do anything. They just sit back & cross their fingers. They are nothing more than organized opposition. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to democratic politicians is their BIG DONORS.
Schumer HAS TO GO
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 24, 2025 10:01 PM |
Schumer’s reasonably smart.
But he couldn’t think “outside the box” if his wife’s life depended on it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 24, 2025 10:54 PM |
John Oliver recently did a deep-dive on a hypothetical "middle of the road" couple that Schumer uses to defend every spineless decision he makes. That couple as it turns out doesn't fucking exist.

by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 29, 2025 12:06 AM |
Well, since we are where we are now with the Fascist takeover, no Democrat has the balls to do anything, actually. It's just that these two are top-tier pussies.

^LOL. OMG.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 29, 2025 12:35 AM |
This is all political theater. Two hours before the shutdown Democrats will pass the CR. There are three Democrats that are retiring and they’ll vote for it because they have nothing to lose. Fetterman will vote for it and one or two others. Schumer will crow that Democrats saved the government. Then instead of actually doing their job, Congress will be doing this same performance when the next CR rolls around. The US government should not be run on CRs.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 29, 2025 1:37 AM |

He and Schumer have to go.

by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 29, 2025 5:29 AM |
They really are useless.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 29, 2025 2:29 PM |
Schumer and Jeffries are weak, but they are in a no win situation.
I am NOT defending them. But if the government shuts down Dems WILL get the blame. The MSM will see to that. And as bad as things are now they will get much, much worse.
I was furious when they didn’t cave last time, but now I feel they must.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 29, 2025 2:39 PM |
It's already much worse. If they don't attempt to stand up to this horrible bill that will cut jobs, health insurance, and a million other things, then they're nothing more than collaborators with MAGAts.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 29, 2025 2:41 PM |
As bad as it is there is nothing Dems can do about that. They are in the minority. And they will stay in the minority when the press starts pinning the blame on them. The shutdown will be spun as their fault, not Trump’s, and all those horrible things will still happen, and much much worse.
Our only hope is 2026. If the government shuts down there are blue areas that won’t exist anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 29, 2025 2:58 PM |
the weird thing is, even "losing" shutdowns doesn't translate into losing the next election. It's not exactly predictable, but even if the inevitably useless clowns in the media pretend that Trump is being reasonable and the Dems are being unreasonable, there is actually little likelihood that will lead to any losses next year. Somewhat more likely that they will actually force a conversation about the complete lawlessness of the Trump administration, in every area, but also in simply arrogating to itself the power of the purse, deciding what will and will not get spent regardless of Congress. And of course, we DO want a fight about the attempt to take health care away from people who depend on those government subsidies.
But beyond the particular arguments, just showing you are willing to fight and give a damn about something, anything at all, is desperately needed by Democrats right now.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 29, 2025 6:33 PM |
But beyond the particular arguments, just showing you are willing to fight and give a damn about something, anything at all, is desperately needed by Democrats right now.
I agree, R53. Constantly rolling over makes Democrats look even weaker than they are. They need to show their own fellow Dems they are willing to do something.

"We are going to take anything we want. We are going to invade any city we want. We are not going to embrace Trans Ideology. We are going to take all the healthcare we want. We are going to call the Democrats violent extremists" = Winning Republicans.
"We are wimps. We have no plan. We don't complain. We whine" = Losing Democrats.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 29, 2025 7:14 PM |

Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway read Jeffries to FILTH on the Pivot podcast.
Swisher: "Hakeem Jeffries is my fail of the week. His social media is so bad it makes me want to cry. It's so boring. It's so dumb. This guy doesn't seem to have a clue."
Galloway: "He lacks the killer instinct and gravitas and ability to capture narrative to be the speaker of the house. I just don't think he has those skills. He and Chuck Schumer — it's like wet meet blanket. These aren't the guys for the moment."
They are 100% correct.

by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 30, 2025 3:13 PM |
Hakeem Jeffries was supposed to be the next Obama, that's why he has the job.
Light skinned black + exotic first name + measured way of speaking with lots of pauses for effect. The Democrats love that shit.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 30, 2025 8:55 PM |
Sadly, Nancy Pelosi may have picked a dud. I get why, she was listening to what everyone's been saying. Let the older generation give way to a younger generation. And she was probably thinking, yes, it's time, and while we're at it, maybe we don't just mechanically go with the white guy or some white guy. Maybe we pick someone from the most loyal part of the Democratic base, which we all know is black people.
But in this case, I fear, she picked a dud. I don't think he's the one to lead us and help us survive this crazy, idiotic era.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 30, 2025 9:01 PM |
R60 Identity politics is always a loser bet.
Jeffries is a shit fundraiser, a terrible speaker, a lousy fighter, and not much to look at in the bargain. But maybe Nancy figured the Democrats would overlook all of that because of the dude's skin color.
There are ten Black Democrats who would've made stronger leadership candidates than this dud. But what can I say? The elderly make poor choices.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 30, 2025 9:06 PM |
Identity politics always have been and always will be a big part of politics. The idea that it only started with black people or gay people or women or anything else is complete and utter bullshit. Who you are, who you represent, who are your people, what is your background, where are you from, these have always been huge parts of politics and successful politicians. Always there is some kind of group behind you and some kind of group identity. There is nothing stupider than the idea that there is some abstract "best" candidate out there, devoid of anything but pure skills or pure knowledge, or pure anything. It is a stupid dream and a stupid myth.
Nevertheless, there are people within every group who are just good at it, and people who aren't, and I wish Nancy Pelosi had picked somebody who was just better at all this stuff, the way she was better at it all. She sadly failed us there.

Imp Johnson is bewildered over criticism of Burnt Orange's posting a video depicting a sombrero and mustache-wearing Hakeem Jeffries standing alongside Chuck Schumer.
"What's racist about it?" Johnson asked; "I don't see any racism."
Well then, that settles that.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 30, 2025 9:21 PM |
R62 Then I ask you, what is Hakeem Jeffries' political identity? He's not a charismatic leader. He's not great with the money people. He doesn't have a particular issue as his personal political lodestar. Why do people keep electing him? What's his brand?
His district likes him because he looks like them. Nancy and Steny like him because they only look skin-deep.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 30, 2025 11:17 PM |
Not sure what you are asking for exactly r64. Clearly, being black was part of the reason Nancy probably looked to him, but also youngish, centrist, "presentable" not too many rough edges. This again seems to be a moment where her political instincts failed her. Should have allowed for a few rough edges if they also allowed for some inspiration, some charisma, some ability to rally the troops. He just doesn't seem to have that, and it's a big problem right now. She went for "safe" when safe isn't a good option. And yes, it would be wonderful if he was some strategic genius, some great organizer behind the scenes, but that doesn't seem to be there either.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 30, 2025 11:23 PM |
Democrats messed up. This CR only funded the government for six weeks. Asking for insane amounts of money was stupid. Is this the hill they wanted to die on going into election season?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 30, 2025 11:36 PM |
Health care, yes, and also lawlessness of the Trump Cult, is the hill. But honestly, which hill would you prefer r66? Lemme guess, none at all, ever, followed by a complaint that Democrats never care about anything.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | September 30, 2025 11:38 PM |
R67, it’s six weeks. Any monetary gains that were made would have been slow walked by the Trump Administration.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 30, 2025 11:43 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 30, 2025 11:49 PM |

I'll never forget when Trump first took office in 2017 and Pelosi and Schumer met with him at the oval office with the attitude that they were gonna show this guy that we are in charge.
