I sat next to a Kimmel writer at a bar who had had a few drinks. Apparently the staff loves him (his wife Molly is another story).

She made the point "Colbert is a theater kid, but Jimmy's more of a regular guy."

I know this isn't related to Jimmy's return but he (along with some others) came out with 'The Man Show' in 1999. That was a great show and the skits with fat kid selling beer on the street as well as hitting on women was a riot. What I'm reading about Kimmel is how caring and generous and kind he is to his friends, his co-workers and colleagues, and to the people who work for him producing the show, etc. His staff are dedicated a loyal. he's just a really good person.
