Trump aide Homan accepted $50,000 in bribery sting operation, sources say
WASHINGTON, Sept 21 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan accepted a $50,000 bag of cash from an undercover FBI agent last year in a since-closed U.S. Justice Department bribery investigation, two sources familiar with the matter said on Sunday.
In the alleged scheme, Homan promised immigration-related government contracts when he joined the Trump administration in exchange for the money, the sources said, speaking anonymously to discuss nonpublic investigations
FBI Director Kash Patel ordered the investigation closed over the summer, one of the sources said. Homan could not be reached for comment. “This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing," Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement on Sunday.
"The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed.”
The probe into Homan started around August 2024 near the end of President Joe Biden's administration and stemmed from a separate national security investigation, one of the sources told Reuters.

The blatant corruption that would doom any other president is almost an afterthought when it comes to the transgressions emanating from this White House.

No credible evidence? Presumably he’s on camera accepting a bag of cash from an undercover FBI agent .
These people simply believe the law is a weapon to use against their enemies and does not apply to them.
Disgusting.

Nothing will happen to him during this administration and Trump will do massive pardoning like Biden did to protect everyone on the way out. The latter is the new norm.

[quote]A grand jury probe into Homan in the Western District of Texas was still in its early stages when Trump returned to the White House in January, the sources said.
[quote]Can he be charged at the state level?
It apparently happened in Texas, so no, there won't be any state charges.

Trump will fuck up big time and there will be no going back. He won't face punishment because he'll be dead before anything goes to trial. But his co-conspirators will face charges. My prediction.

You'd think they could turn this around in a way that goads Trump's fragile ego.
"Hey Donald! Tom Homan was telling sketchy investors all about how he was going to tell YOU how to run the border, and he collected a shitload of cash promising them he could steer you their way."
Treat him like a mafia don. Let him know that one of his goons is out there telling people the boss is weak and stupid, and more critically, collecting cash without kicking a piece of it upstairs.

That's because he's always either drunk or badly hungover depending on the time of day R14.
And what's the bet this $50K bribe isn't the only bribe Holman has accepted. It's just the only bribe which has been documented by legal authorities. The bottom line is that the entire Trump administration encourages this sort of thing and this is the way they operate.

There was an open FBI investigation in Holman's bribe taking R25 but the Trump administration closed it and said there was nothing to see here. They value this type of behavior.
