How this gem passed me by all these years is beyond me. It follows a delusional young man (Perkins) who, after being paroled from a psychiatric hospital, has a chance encounter with an impressional high school student (Weld). A wayward romance begins, resulting in a deranged series of criminal activity. Excellent performances and a nice dose of dark humor really elevate it.
I just watched "Pretty Poison" (1968) starring Anthony Perkins and Tuesday Weld

Pauline Kael raved about it in her review and it really lived up to her praise. It’s a shame that it’s so under underappreciated.

Full movie is on YouTube. I own the Twilight Time Blu-ray which came out some years ago, but I believe it's out of print now, and given Disney's acquisition of the 20th Century Fox catalogue, I wouldn't be surprised if it never gets another release.

This reminds me I’d really like to find Pretty Maids All In A Row.

Anthony Perkins cannot be taken seriously in any role except Norman Bates.
