Is anyone watching this? Between incest vibes and real estate porn this is quite wonderful. The plot is preposterous, but there is a bitch fight in every other scene.
Laurie Anderson plays the son, a puppet between the women and is quite adorable.

Hopefully the son is actually secretly getting it on with the poolboy.

The son is ugly

I think if I were to be reincarnated as a woman, I might pick Robin Wright. She was gorgeous in her youth and got plenty of prime cock. She got half of Sean Penn's money, then had a short marriage with the hot younger Frenchman. She seems like a fierce bitch.

Robin was recently on the Drew Barrymore show for this.

Laurie Davidson, not Anderson

I think Robin Wright is hot -- but only now that she's older and has kind of a hard edge.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 21, 2025 2:07 AM |
I was enjoying it until the last episode, which was really dumb.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 21, 2025 3:41 AM |
I forgot Prime Video existed. Maybe I'll attempt to watch this.

Robin Wright is a shamefully underated actress.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 21, 2025 4:41 AM |
I watched the first episode this evening (I don't like binging - I'd rather watch one episode each night this week). I really enjoyed it - interesting to see the different perspectives from the two women. The reason I watched was because Wright was on 'The View' earlier in the week, and the discussion about the series intrigued me.

Land is a movie everyone should watch. Robin Wright was amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 21, 2025 4:43 AM |
How was Robin Wright ever a thing?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 21, 2025 4:52 AM |
Laurie Davidson comes off as really hot and sexy in some scenes, yet not so much in others. I'm wondering if it's the lighting and camera angles that sometime work with him and sometimes don't. I'm not noticing it with the other actors.

As she gets older, I'm finding Robin Wright is morphing into Glenn Close. There were some scenes (such as the opening scene when she was on her cell phone talking to her assistant) where I could've sworn I was watching Close. Same mannerisms, similar look.

Olivia Cooke has a tranny thing goin' on.

Olivia Cooke is Aimee Lou Wood with better teeth.

It is great trashy fun.

Who would name their kid Cherry.

Laurie Davidson
Jesus that’s a Spectrum face if I ever saw one
He looks like he’s staring out from another dimension
He makes Matt Bomer look neurotypical
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 21, 2025 10:45 PM |
That's a big Frankenstein forehead he has going on there. He looks better in the series with the curly hair falling down above his eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 21, 2025 10:53 PM |
Definitely looks better from the side that head-on.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 22, 2025 1:29 AM |
Yeah Cherry was not attractive at all and the kid wasn't really either. The whole cat thing was annoying, Wright didn't seem to give a shit her indoor cat was suddenly missing.

Loved Wright when she was on “Santa Barbara”.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 22, 2025 2:03 AM |
Wright has come a long way from Princess Buttercup.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 22, 2025 2:03 AM |
God, this was stupid.

Robin Wright was great as Laura Dern's hippy friend on Enlightened.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 22, 2025 2:20 AM |
Poor Robin. Those women on The View are such morons. She has more patience than me.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 22, 2025 2:20 AM |
Made it (perhaps) 20 minutes into the first episode. I felt like someone was hitting me on the head with a brick over and over again. No subtlety at all. I could practically predict the ending, but if I were wrong, IDGAF.
As hot as I think Robin Wright is, sorry -- I can't do it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 22, 2025 3:23 AM |
I thought the same thing about the opening scene, r16. She reminded me of Glenn Close as Patty Hewes. It's the tight face and the older neck.

Feeling his dick up like it was MILF Manor.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 23, 2025 12:57 AM |
The ending could've been so much better.

Robin Wright on the Delicious Clash of ‘Alpha Females’ in ‘The Girlfriend’
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 23, 2025 4:10 AM |
The whole last episode was bad. Way too much reliance on the “you need to call me so I can tell you something important” and “I’m not going to listen to what you have to say even though you keep insisting it’s incredibly important” tropes. Not to mention the stupidity of Robin Wright drugging her son so that she can then finally play him the recording while he’s barely conscious.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 23, 2025 4:56 AM |
Her son was a doctor yet made zero attempt to save her when he pulled her out of the water. Was that on purpose that he wanted her gone ? The way Cherry was staring at him, I think that's the message she was sending.
Anyhow, I said it upthread - Wright was giving off Glenn Close vibes in every scene. It was distracting at times.

WTF would anyone name their son "Laurie?"
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 23, 2025 12:05 PM |
That’s all what made the entire series so stupid, R39. Or maybe he’s a doctor but skipped CPR day.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 23, 2025 12:13 PM |
R41, I believe (from reading "Little Women") that Laurie was short for Lawrence.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 23, 2025 12:39 PM |
My uncle was Laurie but he was a Dane from Denmark.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 23, 2025 1:39 PM |
Wright directs herself in the first three episodes. She's like John Cassavetes!
No apparent explanation for why two Americans in London have a son who speaks like a public schoolboy trying to sound like he's from Essex.
