Poor Colin Farrell has had a week from hell. He loses the Emmy and now bombs with this turkey.

by Anonymousreply 1September 20, 2025 3:25 PM

No wonder she showed her ass on the red carpet.

by Anonymousreply 2September 20, 2025 3:26 PM

R1 Farrell’s movies bombing are usually the rule not the exception. He should be used to it. Great actor though.

From critics:

“The only door worth finding was the exit door to the theater, and I couldn't run through it fast enough.”

“This monotonous attempt to mine something genuine out of a surreal, overlong meet-cute is a massive waste of talent in front of and behind the camera.”

“A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is the absolute weirdest major studio release I’ve seen in a very long time.”

“The direction is prosaic and sentimental, while Robbie and Farrell have zero chemistry, not a squeak, and understandably fail to breathe life into such poorly written characters.”

“What should be a tearjerker and a moving story about learning to be open to life’s surprises doesn’t have much more impact than a beautifully rendered inspirational Instagram quote.”

"I took a dootie in my pants during this film and it far exceeded the film itself in terms of enjoyment value"

-Margot Robbie's grandmother

It seems the pairing of two big "stars" is not enough to bring audiences to this cloying, cringeworthy film. Mr. Farrell gave a better performances in his sex tape. Ms. Robbie has lost the bloom from Barbie, which simultaneously overexposed her and limited her run of good luck. It's a $45+ million investment down the drain. Look for my autobiography on Hulu soon, starring Kristen Wiig.

Superhot Tyriq Withers is officially a star.

by Anonymousreply 7September 20, 2025 8:55 PM

Lmao you think this is the end of Margot Robbie? wtf lmao

by Anonymousreply 8September 20, 2025 8:56 PM

The trailer made this movie look horrible. Just utter treacle.

by Anonymousreply 9September 20, 2025 9:29 PM

Margot has that Withering Heights movie that could also bomb or be a hit. We don’t know. This flop does make me question her business acumen.

by Anonymousreply 10September 20, 2025 9:46 PM

Every star has bombs. Especially these days.

by Anonymousreply 11September 20, 2025 9:52 PM

I will love Wuthering Heights- I fucking love Emerald Fennell.

However, I sadly expect that this one will BOMB creatively and otherwise..

by Anonymousreply 12September 20, 2025 10:03 PM

Is it just me or are there only a few female film stars now? Margot, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone? And then Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney are on the B list? I see Jennifer is cast in a Scorsese film with Leo. She needs it and is happy this weekend due to Margot's bomb.

by Anonymousreply 13September 20, 2025 11:04 PM

"Him" got even worse reviews but horror usually has a good first week no matter how bad it is.

by Anonymousreply 14September 20, 2025 11:08 PM

Barbie was a fluke.

by Anonymousreply 15September 20, 2025 11:10 PM

In no world are Zendaya and Sydney B list. Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 16September 20, 2025 11:39 PM

She could start an OnlyFans and post feet photos. Quentin Tarantino would spend every cent he had.

by Anonymousreply 17September 21, 2025 12:00 AM

She made over $40 million for Barbie alone. These aren’t minimum wage workers.

She can stop working and be fine the rest of her life r17 thinks everyone is like him.

Colin has a severely disabled son and also has started a foundation he hopes will help other families with severely disabled children. I suspect he would like to be ultra-selective in the work he chooses to do but will continue to appear in crap when that's all that is being offered, bc he feels driven to earn as much money as possible. It's a pretty noble reason.

by Anonymousreply 19September 21, 2025 12:32 AM

Yes. I’m sure THATS the sole reason he takes movie roles

by Anonymousreply 20September 21, 2025 12:40 AM

Movies are dying with the old model of stars. Now it’s horror, animation and no one cares who the star is. Maybe if it’s a Ryan Reynolds or Rock who are a product but this just shows you can’t get anything out of so-called stars.

by Anonymousreply 21September 21, 2025 12:49 AM

Why does Hollywood love wasting money on her? She doesn't even have any talent.

by Anonymousreply 22September 21, 2025 1:00 AM

I thought she was great in "I, Tonya," R22. The talent is in there.

by Anonymousreply 23September 21, 2025 1:39 AM

Ryan Reynolds? Lol. Ryan Reynolds can’t open a movie unless it’s that stupid Marvel character he does. He is not a movie star.

by Anonymousreply 24September 21, 2025 2:57 AM

Movies that aren't product no longer rely on stars. If it's not a franchise or a kids' movie, people are looking for an innovative idea well explored, whether it's horror, romcom, drama or musical. If you put people in it who are known it is likely to lure more people in at the beginning, for sure, but it has to have the other characteristics first. If it does, you can have promising new actors in it and people will still want to see it. Look at the number of actors now in movies who came to attention through TV shows that people found exciting.

Probably the one recent exception is F1, where the topic was the big international lure, but Brad Pitt doubtless added plenty of sales.

by Anonymousreply 25September 21, 2025 6:02 AM

I just saw a short description of this movie, and it sounds like a big ripoff of All of Us Strangers.

by Anonymousreply 26September 21, 2025 6:03 AM

R26 it’s nothing like that movie. wtf.

by Anonymousreply 27September 21, 2025 2:10 PM

"Yes. I’m sure THATS the sole reason he takes movie roles" I meant, that is why Colin is taking shitty movie roles. Anyone reading the "Big Bold Beautiful Journey" script could have seen that it was going to be a crap film.
