What do conservatives believe in?
The right is always bellowing that college students are brainwashed by their liberal professors. They demand that the faculties include more conservative people.
THAT is what Trump is forcing colleges to do under the guise of punishing schools for antisemitism,
But, what exactly do conservatives believe in? What ideas do they want to spread?

They are not “conservatives” in the traditional sense, They are radicals. The are an alliance of white supremacists, Christian Nationalists and billionaire oligarchs who believe in what that brings them power. The closest model and best label is “fascist,” but the Christian Nationalist elements make them more like the Islamo-fascists in Iran than the Nazis.

What they say they believe in is limited government, individual freedom and responsibility, traditional values, strong national defense and the rule of law.
What they really believe in is power at all costs.

American rightwingers (not “conservatives”). Aren’t for anything. Well, except the second amendment.
Fox News has made very sure there are a lot of things they’re against, though.
Liberals
People of color
LGBTQ+
Immigrants
They will reliably vote AGAINST any such candidate, even if the person they’re voting for will hurt them.

My neighbors say (basically) those who have anything to lose tend to favor fiscally conservative policies. They feel they worked hard to find their way, buy homes, grow their assets. Those with money in the market right now are quietly watching their portfolios ticking up in value, but also many feel that the economy is like an overheated engine that could falter. Even my more conservative friends disavow xenophobia, and anti-Vaxers

If you look at the very term - conservatism and conserve - means they are against change and progress. Why? Because they feel that traditional old ways were good - but fail to realize it wasn't good for EVERYONE.
It's a very easy path to fight against change. It's dismissive - well, it has worked well for this long. It's also wanting to please people and put your head in the sand.
Nothing has ever progressed under conservative rule or traditions. Nothing.
We are an evolving species - like everything, including your relationships, your material items - they need review. Are they still working? If not, what can we alter?
Conservative mindset is basically stuck in this belief that any change is bad - except if it is for the change that THEY want - which is usually regressive or for corporate interests.
Arguably, it can be said that the conservatives work as a balance against liberal thought as a checks and balance so that things can progress in a way that it palatable and doesn't turn things upside down.
Ok - but at the same time, what has conservatives ever looked at to change things for ALL people's lives? I'm willing to listen. But I can't recall a single thing - outside of their airy-fairy economics that has shown time and time again to push money and economic growth to the upper 1%.

Today's so-called "conservatives" believe that straight, white, wealthy, "Christian" men are owed all power at all levels of local, state, and federal government. And that they should use that power to exert maximum cruelty and oppression on everyone else outside of their very exclusive demographic. That's it. That is the sum total of their belief system.
They absolutely do [bold]NOT[/bold] believe in:
-- Democracy;
-- Equal rights for women / LGBTQ+ / POC;
-- Opportunity and any form of state-subsidized support for the less fortunate;
-- Respect for different opinions / perspectives / experiences;
-- Robust foreign policy that respects the agendas of any allied nations;
-- Immigration and pathways to citizenship for migrants of brown / black countries;
-- Any manner of civil rights and a right to live peacefully for anyone unlike them;
-- The value of a well-educated populace.
They would bring back slavery if they could. In fact, one of their current malicious efforts is to minimize if not erase our historical learnings of slavery.

They used to pretend they were "fiscal conservatives" but Regan t ripled the national debt, Bush II doubled it again, and Trump has sent it to the moon and back.
They used to pretend they wanted to control the money su pply, but when those numbers showed that Bush II's "growth" was really inflation, they stopped reporting them.
They want less business regulattion, except they want to control who businesses hire and promote.
They say they are for America First but they wish to start wars all over the wrold.

Conservatives are backwards.
If they actually read the New Testament and followed the things Jesus said, they would be a group more radical than any socialist or communist. Jesus was anti-wealth and believed in sharing and uplifting the poor and outcast. His followers abolished their private property and lived communally.
They don’t live by or believe in anything he said himself in the Bible. “Sell all your own, give to the poor”, “blessed are the poor, woe are the rich”, Cancel all debts, free slaves, return land!
You can’t think AOC and Bernie are lunatics and claim to worship Jesus and his message.
So you can’t take anything they say seriously. It just all goes out of the window for me.

Honestly, I don't think it's even that calculating, well for most of them. It's a true love and admiration and sometimes even worship of money. The people who have it must be special in some way, and probably smarter, and they both deserve more and should probably be running this place to the extent possible. Even if a lot of them will be running it selfishly, that's okay. They'll take their cut but they'll somehow make it better for the rest of us. Cause they magically know what they're doing in most ways.
