Anyone past or present you look up to as an example to follow?

You don't have to be perfect to be a hero. No one is perfect. But a hero is someone who tries to make things better. Harvey Milk? Sure! Martin Luther King, Jr.? Sure! No matter whom you pick you can find flaws and imperfections. But those don't take away from the good they tried to do. Only immature, inexperienced people insist on perfection and ideological purity. There ain't a human been born who could pass that test!

Nando Parrado, the Andes plane crash survivor who, at 22, climbed down the mountain, which eventually saved the remaining survivors. He chose one other survivor to go with him. It took nine days and started 61 days after the crash. In his book he said there were many times when taking even one step (in three feet of snow no less) was a major effort and took all the energy he could muster.
