At the end of the day always...I shower daily after the gym but nothing helps!
Why does my crotch always smell musty

Come on over to my place, OP. Please send a photo with face first.

Crotch rot OP. Chop it off.

Use a hair dryer after your shower "down there". And dry completely, making sure all the nooks and crannies are dry. Wear clean underwear. And while you're at it, use the hair dryer to dry your feet and between your toes which will help avoid athletes foot.

Agree, R1.
As for OP, is there any itching or irritation? If so, use jock itch/ringworm cream.

OP, you might be using soaps that your skin is too sensitive for — a smell can be a reaction to irritating soaps. The other possibility is that it’s your diet. Remember, they are poisoning us through the food supply. Our ultra-processed food supply chain is making us sick in countless ways. Try eliminating ALL food that comes in: a box, a bag, a can. No pre-made, pre-packaged foods. Get rid of all starch and carbs for a month and see what happens to your stench.

You never rinse your pantyhose.

I use Always pads so I don’t have to change my underwear for five days. I do change the pads daily.

Scrotal wrinkles hold moisture and yeasty incubators of quick-spreading bacteria feasting upon your taint.
Do you have wrinkly ballz, OP?

Agree with r3. I always blow dry everything after toweling off. If you are 60+, consider using persimmon soap for "old people" smell.

I want to know how OP gets his nose down to his crotch.

Rub a little Ben-Gay down there, a musty smell will no longer be your biggest problem.

OP, does your crotch smell musty, or musky? A lot of people aren't aware of (or don't seem to be able to grasp) the difference between these two words.
"Musty" is a smell you'd find in an attic or basement, or in an old trunk that's been sealed up. Think of a place where no light and no fresh air has been for years. Is THAT the issue you're having between your legs? Then open your legs and air that hoo hoo out!
Or are you concerned about a "musky" smell? Musky is a strong natural scent that can be pleasant or unpleasant. If you're a guy, and experiencing it at the end of the day, it may be that something is off (skin too oily, too much alcohol or unhealthy food, or some health issue).
What you might be experiencing is jock itch or a yeast infection - which can be internal with women (vagina) but can also happen with men in spots where skin overlaps or in places where, say, your gym shorts are rubbing against your skin. I've had that issue before - use tea tree body wash or, if it's a real severe case, Hibiclens soap (but be careful not to get Hibiclens near your butthole or genitals).

I have thick thighs and sweat a lot. My crotch is always musky at the end of the day and that’s normal for me. I just take 2 showers if I need to.

OP = Madonna.

Dry after a shower and use starch body powder, which they sell in drug stores (Arm and Hammer is one brand). You can use a scented one. Starch will absorb moisture and keep things dry.

After showering and drying off, use Baby Powder Pure Cornstarch down there. It looks and works just like baby powder (it's even sold in the same section as baby powder), but it's cornstarch. There are all sorts of brands, scented, non-scented, etc.

If this persists despite best efforts, see a doctor, OP. There's a few medical issues that can cause bad crotch odor.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 12, 2025 7:47 PM |
Antifungal powder.

I believe men go through horny cycles of the month like women do. Could be a hormone thing.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 12, 2025 11:41 PM |
Have you tried Irish Spring bar soap?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 12, 2025 11:45 PM |
As R21 suggested, a tea tree oil-based body wash (Ex: Fungasoap) really works great to keep the stink, jock itch, and athlete’s foot away, year round. If tea tree oil soap smells too medicinal or doesn’t lather well for you, you can always mix it with a squirt of your favorite body wash..

Sort of related question:
I shower twice a day but have recently had two issues — by dinner time my back is very itchy — and throughout the day my left armpit area is itchy.
I haven’t changed deodorant or laundry detergent.
Anyone have any advice or ideas for me?
Thanks so much!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 13, 2025 2:38 PM |
OP, use flushable wipes, to cleanse your crotch.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 13, 2025 3:20 PM |
Have you tried any of the new all body deodorants for men?
Or at least powder them balls man!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 13, 2025 3:38 PM |
OP, if you’re hot, call me.
