Ugh!!! I no longer want to be a fat whore!!!
I got nothing but healthful foods at the store. Vegetables, high antioxidant fruits, salmon, lentils, brown rice, eggs (for egg whites only), etc. I’m making all of my meals at home. I’m eating nothing processed.
I lost 3.5 lbs!
Then last night, I ate a Big Mac.
It tasted AMAZING, however, I felt physically grossed out afterwards.

I went to Del Taco yesterday and got 2 of the Del Tacos and asked for a taco salad, even though it was no longer on the menu. They said they could make it without the shell; I asked them to leave off the guac and sour cream. Needless to say, it wasn't very good and I threw half of it away. Should have just gotten another taco. This was all I had eaten thus far and only had a snack later. This fat whore was not rejoicing.

You get points for using "healthful" instead of "healthy."
Hang in there. Use that gross feeling to avoid doing it again. I know, it's hard.

Egg whites only is soooo Nineties. Not only are egg whites revolting, the yolk is the most nutritious part of the egg. Egg whites is based on the low fat diet which has been debunked as far a losing weight is concerned.

Are you waiting for more safety information before trying a GLP1 medication?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 9, 2025 6:32 PM

No, R8., I’m not waiting for more safety information from pharmaceutical companies that manufacture/distribute G LP-1 meds.
I’m waiting for my next medical appointment in mid October, in order to have a full physical, so that my physician can give me the best medical advice & prescription, based on my lab & other diagnostic results.
I wanted it for September, but October is what’s available to me.

My guess is you're not getting enough fat. Try adding olive oil or some high quality full-fat dairy, like a scoop of ice cream or a slice of cheese, to your regular diet. It's the fat (along with salt/sugar you don't ned) that makes junk food taste amazing.

I inexplicably lost a bunch of weight last year but now it’s coming back. That’s what a messed up thyroid can do.

OP? Try upping your exercise. That way you don't have to cut back on your food quite so much. Plus, you won't be as hungry.

Exercise burns a relatively small number of calories. If you slip up and eat a candy bar, that undoes the benefit of a half hour run.

Calories in calories out. You need to estimate your TDEE and stay under that. Doesn’t matter if you eat a big mac. Calorically, it’s appropriate for a full meal.

R10, I am the queen of extra virgin olive oil.
It goes on my salads, salmon, cooked vegetables, etc.
I love olive oil.
I just had a huge craving for fast food last night, & made the mistake of following up, rather than having some strawberries or blueberries.
I have stuck to my diet plan all day today, & if I get another craving? I’ll eat something small & healthy, or go for a walk.

Not really, R13. Cut down on carbs. If bread, potatoes and pasta is eliminated or cut down severely, you’ll lose weight. No need for an extra mile of running or exercise.

I got fed up a few years ago. I went on the carnivore diet. Meat, Chicken, Turkey..no carbs. No bread, no rice just fats and proteins. I lost 100 pounds in just under 4 months. First two months about 50, I started walking then exercising 3 times a week. Lost the other 50. I now really only eat protien and fats with small amounts of carbs to maintain.

If you broke down and went to McDonald's then it means you didn't get enough to eat during the day. Dieting isn't about starving yourself, you need to eat meals that are healthy, filling and give you enough energy.
Eating something like peanut butter, yogurt or cottage cheese when you're hungry. You might need to incorporate another snack into your routine.

I'm against these types of these types of diets because you'll most likely put the pounds right back on when you get back to normal. CUT DOWN ON CARBS, don't eliminate. Do it slowly, get into a regimen that's livable - forever.

Christ, R29. I’m not Oprah big.
I gained 30 lbs., & am now serious about losing it.
It feels awful and looks just like it feels.
I can’t wear 70-80% of my clothes. And quite frankly? I’m so sick of not exercising.
I was stress eating all day long. Even people at my office were like, “You’re eating AGAIN?”
I did some soul searching within the last few weeks, & decided I’ve had enough of treating my body like shit.
I’ll look into Zebpound before I go in for my physical.
R26, thanks for the tips. Thanks to all of you for the tips. I genuinely appreciate them!

r27 No I don't plan on putting on the pounds because I am insulin resistant. Carbs are bad for me overall. I don't process them like normal people do and the glucose does not get converted and gets stored as extra fat. I have accepted it's my life now. It's not horrible, I mean I can eat bacon and eggs, cooked in butter, steak, green vegs. It's not hard to find things to eat and Keto is pretty much everywhere now. One plus all the high non-soluble fiber has given me the most satisfying BMs of my life. I could not do Ozempic; it made me really sick to my stomach. I could not do a regular diet because carbs are carbs, and I put on weight. The other plus is that because I consume so much protein, I have put on muscle like crazy now when working out, something that has always been hard for me. My BP is 117 / 7,6 and I am off 3/4 of the meds I was on. Things i never realised the extra weight was causing, like ED, have also gone. Waking up with a raging hard-on every morning again is the best.

I've lost 120 lbs. since 7/1/24. No pills, no injections, no surgery.
But last week I went on a six-day cruise. It reminded me how much I'm still addicted to overeating when the opportunity presents itself. I'm fine at home by myself because I control what I have available.
I still need to lose another 60-70 lbs.

I have high cholesterol so the keto thing isn't for me. I eat a mostly plant-based diet so carbs like beans and peas, nuts and seeds, oatmeal, whole wheat bread and pasta, sweet potatoes and squash do a lot of nutritional heavy lifting for me.

It's rare to be able to stick to a specific diet 100%. Allow yourself the occasional lapse or guilty pleasure. Don't sweat it. If you stick to your diet at least 90% of the time you are on the right track.
