Is Chief Justice Is Roberts being blackmailed over his boyfriend?
Is Roberts being blackmailed over his boyfriend? Does that explain the fascism? Many people are saying that.
He had been a “confirmed bachelor” for 40 years until he met his future wife on a gay beach. Since their children were adopted there is no evidence that the marriage was ever consummated. He has, however, received millions of dollars in payoffs through her employment as a head hunter for many of America’s largest law firms.
Now, a former colleague of Mrs. Roberts has raised concerns that her recruiting work poses potential ethics issues for the chief justice. Seeking an inquiry, the ex-colleague has provided records to the Justice Department and Congress indicating Mrs. Roberts has been paid millions of dollars in commissions for placing lawyers at firms — some of which have business before the Supreme Court, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times.

[quote]He had been a “confirmed bachelor” for 40 years until he met his future wife on a gay beach.
He was born in 1955, started dating his wife in his thirties and was 40 or 41 when they married. And here's his wife's account of how they met: "In a beach house in Delaware. I love to swim, and I love the ocean. [In 1986] I brought a number of friends from Shaw Pittman, and we joined a beach house that had been started by a friend over at Hogan and Hartson [the law firm for which John Roberts worked]. But he was not really quite the beach-goer that I was. He preferred to play golf, so we didn’t meet until ’91."
It wasn't until 1993 that their paths crossed again and they started dating. There's more about that and fertility/adoption at the link. It's all boring and the same stories and timelines are repeated in other articles. That isn't to say he didn't look like a preppy young cookie-sniffer, but the photo paints a vivid enough picture without counting his childhood as part of his bachelorhood.

For all its downsides, I fucking love the internet age and the tireless efforts of obsessive internet sleuths that populate it. Even a drop of truth can ignite a rumor, that spreads, gains traction, and starts a chain reaction of exposures. Like attending a spectator sport, I'm here for the spectacle.

When Roberts was first nominated by Dubya there was a poster here who claimed to have worked at Roberts' old law firm. The poster said it was pretty much assumed that Roberts was gay and that, when it was clear his star was on the rise, he suddenly got married then adopted some kids

He could be hiding secrets other than that.
Could be an Epstein situation. Young girls, young boys.
Could be some shadiness with his adoption. Both of his kids were adopted from Ireland.
Could be getting paid like Thomas.
Could be any of the above, what OP said. Or he could legitimately be yet another fool in the history of the world to not realize that the dictator will eventually throw the judiciary under the bus (or in front of the firing squad), no matter how nicely it tries to play with him. History tells you that you should stand up to him in the early stages, so it has less of a chance of ever getting to that point. And yet, so many think they will be the exception. It won't happen this time around. fools.

Republicans do what they do because they're reprehensible people, not because they're being blackmailed or bribed. Though they'll happily accept bribes.

John Roberts has reached the pinnacle of being a hyper closet case. Of course he's gay.
He's evil, an asshole and carries Trump's water and gargles his balls. John Roberts lives a lie at the expense of the country now and long into the future.
John Roberts ought to be ashamed of himself and forever be tormented by his hypocrisy.

One of the groomsmen at Roberts' wedding, former judge J. Michael Luttig, holding Roberts to account. Great article.
[quote]Wilentz, a history professor at Princeton University, asked Luttig if he thinks Roberts is aware of the damage to both the court’s reputation and the chief justice’s own. Luttig said Roberts “knows everything there is to know” about the perception, politics and institution of the court. “There is no one smarter than John Roberts as to all of that so, in answer to your question, he knows perfectly well. He has made the decision between the moment and history already, and he cannot recover that decision. ... I couldn’t look myself in the mirror.”

Have no clue about Roberts, but I do wonder how many of the GOP and others just casually falling in line and kissing the ring are connected to possible circumstances regarding, essentially, Kompromat... that some are possibly being blackmailed to gain control of key individuals and to further certain agendas. I mean, the GOP is basically an Russian asset, so using their classic techniques wouldn't at all be surprising...
