R17 quite a few former Freepers did go against the cult on that site with the Epstein scandal of the administration refusing to release materials as promised. They were pissed that many on the site were willing to let pedos slide. They expressed that Trump, while they didn't believe he was one himself, was actively protecting child fuckers for some reason, and this angered them and made them feel betrayed. Unsurprisingly, they were ganged up against by the severely brainwashed, and eventually banned for the most part. Anyhow, my venturing into FR is less frequent these days unless there is a clear rift taking place on other social media sites. The Epstein situation was and is a rift that is still taking its toll so let's be grateful for that, at least.
