Ruth Paine is DEAD TO ME!

Thomas Mallon’s book, “Mrs. Paine’s Garage: And the Murder of John F. Kennedy,” is a great read.

For all the continuing DL attention to the JFK assassination, it's confounding that the death of Ruth Paine, such a central character in the investigation & subsequent conspiracy theories, has not generated more interest here.

How did she know/meet them? How long had they lived there?

Other than Marina, are there any central players in the assassination story now still alive?

R2, she obviously lacks the allure and quiet glamour of Dorothy Kilgallen or our eldergays would have made her an institution here.

Unbeknownst to the pacifist Mrs. Paine, Lee had hid his rifle, the same one he used in his April 10th attempt on Gen. Walker’s life, in the Paine garage. For the first time since starting work at the Texas School Book Depository a month earlier, Lee went to the Paine home after work on Thursday for the express purpose of retrieving his rifle.
