I like unglamorous and unpolished Alcaraz.

There were ticket holders (those tickets could fetch up to 2K) who couldn't see the early part of the match because of the security ruckus this asshole caused. I would've been mightily pissed off if I had been one of them.

He also got a lot of cheers, but OP made sure not to show that part. My point being that, the crowd was mixed. Baffling, yes, but it was mixed in its opinion of Trump

I was shocked to read that they were trying to control the media coverage of his reception, I was not shocked to see assertions that he was heavily booed, I was shocked to dig deeper into this and watch videos that were presented as evidence of overwhelming booing that seems to me like a very mixed crowd, with more cheering and clapping. But I’m admittedly bad at making out crowd noises.

And there still hasn’t been much coverage of this, has there? I saw one accountant that had a negative tone related to the final being delayed 30 minutes. That seems like burying the lede.

Very weird situation that in 2025 it’s hard to be sure what a huge crowd, all with video equipped phones, actually saw and did.

The crowd in the better seats of the men's final of the US Open are the very rich. Trump just cut their taxes by huge numbers. Of course they applauded.

It was mostly boos, as reported by witnesses and recorded on many cell phones. However, Trump’s first big appearance on the screens at the match was not shown by ABC. Obviously by design, they cut to a commercial.
