Who here has been to blue hill at stone barns?

It looks great. Is it overrated? Is it worth the wait and cost?

It’s very good. But it’s more about the experience of visiting the farm than just the food.

September and October are a great time to visit because of all the vegetables that are in season

Food’s good. Setting is lovely. The Westchester crowd is gross af.

Why is that @R2

by Anonymousreply 3September 8, 2025 1:26 AM

Hey, R3. Not fact here, just my feeling. Westchester folks are basic MOR, stick-to-my-own circle suburbanites… but often enough with more money and less tacky houses/neighborhoods than suburbanites elsewhere.

The many I’ve met/known look down on Long Islanders as déclassé (I know!) and look even farther down their noses at New Jerseyans.

In truth, all of those suburbanites are more similar than different. They drive everywhere, buy most of their shit at big box stores, talk about money/shopping too much, hope and pray their kids will turn out to be as MOR as they are and are constantly striving to be visibly greater achievers than their neighbors.

I get this all reflects as much on me as it does on them. I do go to the burbs sometimes. But after a couple of hours I start to get hives.

It’s jumped in price over the last few years. Isn’t it somewhere around $400/person now???
